Yuri Manga Sasameki Koto To Be Animated

According to the Alive Comics booklet, Ikeda Takashi's Yuri manga "Sasameki Koto" was announced to get a TV anime adaptation.

Scenario: Kurata Hideyuki ("Kannagi")

Synopsis
Murasame Sumika is popular in the high school for her excellence in the marks and sports. However, she has a secret: she is in love with her classmate Kazama Ushio. Ushio also has a liking to the love between girls, but she hasn't noticed Sumika's feeling and always been refused by other girls.

Well, yeah, but the general anime community (sites like MAL, anidb etc) differentiate yuri and shoujo-ai by H or not. Yuri generally infers the title is pornographic as opposed to just romance.

what a terrible misunderstanding... and it's already widespread... Yuri can be used both for porn and normal romance. Shoujo-ai is more like sexual, generally pedophilia.

I guess it's another one of those "western otaku" terminology... lol :P

Lots of yuri announcements. Hopefully I'll find a good one amongst them.

I understand the frustration about the whole shoujo ai/yuri thing. It's such a losing battle though. It's like shounen ai/yaoi. Both terms are obsolete in Japan and were replaced by BL (boy's love), yet they are everywhere here and in the English market. They need a new term like GL!

I didn't make the rules. That's just how they've been categorised on most DB sites and referenced in most discussion forums... pretty much forever; as long as I've been using such sites. That's just how the English fanbase views the genres, I guess.

Just look at the shoujo-ai tag here on MAL, it's all girl love series, not pedo stuff. Same goes everywhere, really.

Personally I don't really care because I don't like most series that brandish either title (romance) but comedies are generally alright, so if it's a romantic comedy, I'm fine with that. Just spare me romantic drama. :D
