Will Lucky Star Surpass Haruhi?

Lucky Star related merchandise has been getting a big boost in sales thanks to the anime adaption of the series (which was originally a filler comic). Each of the DVDs that have been released have had sales over 50,000. The pre-sale numbers for the volume four limited edition and regular edition have brought in sales over 53,000. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya set (8 volumes in total) has sold 530,000 and since Lucky Star is a 12 volume set, it could eventually surpass The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya if it keeps the selling pace. Even if it outsold Haruhi, I don't think Lucky Star could match the obsessive but well-deserved hysteria Haruhi inspired.

well, i havent completeyl completed lucky star, but it's good so far. Haruhi i like better though. I followed that series with all the limited editions. It's one of the ones i'm completely devoted too, like Negima. Kinda how i like Asuna over evrything, Haruhi rules.

Just for randomness: My characters liking goes; Haruhi, Tsuruya, Koizumi, Yuki, Mikuru....and uh, Kyon.

I cant decide which is better at some cases, Haruhi is preferred i guess because Lucky Channel was 1/4 of Lucky Star and i hated it!!!

I didn't like the Lucky Channel either. But besides that one thing I enjoyed it more then Haruhi -_-;; But ya more volumes = more overall sales (should)

Nothing can surpass Haruhi! even if it does Lucky star uses haruhi alot in it so it doesn't count :P They are both Ftw

does anyone possess any objectivity?
everything is purely a matter of taste, so why do you post meaningless comments that aren't related to the actual question,apart from uttering that haruhi or lucky star is much better, without any explanations? Back to the topic, as regards that in my opinion lucky star will be surpassing at least the dvd sales, simply because of the number of volumes. however, as for general merchandise i feel gloomy about it, due to the fact that haruhi is still more popular than lucky star.

It would've been a surprise to me but a month ago I thought the same thing. And now I think it might just surpass it. The problem is Haruhi is already famous but Lucky Star could catch a lot of newbies and get a bit more hype from kids these days apart from the kids that watched Haruhi a couple of years ago.

If all of Lucky Star was more like the later half of the season I might say I like it better then Haruhi, but only by a little. As it stands I like Haruhi better.
