New OVA of Maken-Ki! Due in September

According to Fujimishobo, a new OVA of Maken-Ki! was announced to be released in September. It will be bundled with the 11th volume of the manga.

It'll be a fanservice episode in a tropical island.

With Hiraku involved will the ecchi make up for the generic harem crap? (MC obviously is going to end up with haruko and she's going to keep hitting him for every misunderstanding)

Hiraku Kaneko is good, but it's gotta be Kaneko + Hoods entertainment to be an ecchi dream team. I could die happy if a second season of Manyuu Hikenchou was announced, the manga is finished so they can wrap it up.

Perhaps when the series was still being aired there was no resource or commitment from the manga publisher for extension? OAD sold in bundle with a new manga volume also seems to be a surer way to reclaim the cost of anime production of single episode.

Currently, almost all animes usually have OVAs. What I do not understand is why they don't extend the number of episodes of the series itself instead of making special chapters. This happens so much that makes me depressed, honestly.

Well, too much cost and risk to produce a TV series, so anime production switches to OAD. Quite popular pattern these days.
