Hobby Japan's Figure Series 'Nanatsu no Taizai' To Be Animated

According to the official website, Hobby Japan magazine's figure series "Nanatsu no Taizai (Seven Sins)" was announced to get an anime adaptation. A two-episode anime will be released as the first chapter.

Any update on when this will be released? Hope to be able to get this before any anti-piracy/"protecting the youth" bullshit gets worse.

Probably no odder than a series based on a series of ecchi "visual combat books" (Queen's Blade) though. It's no surprise that Hobby Japan is behind both.

Shinki Busou is based on figurines too, so I wouldn't call it that rare. Most anime are just advertisements in the first place after all, and this is for figurines while most are for manga or light novels.

Seems like it's targeting a pretty small audience. I mean, sure, it's definitely going to pull in all the "watching for the boobs" people, but I mean it's a series based on figures, which already seems like an odd idea. Two of the three available so far have been exclusives that required a Japanese proxy to order within a limited time frame, so that might have put some people off and kept them from being interested in the characters/show. Then add to it the fact that there's probably some people who did have an interest in the figures, but then saw that an animation was being made of them and just said "lol no" at the thought of a show based on figures. After all's said and done, it just doesn't seem like there's a lot left who have a genuine interest in the show other than "omg tits".

And yeah, I'm aware someone brought up the point of Busou Shinki being a series about figures. I haven't actually seen it though, so I don't have any opinion as to its quality.

Still going to watch this, though. So far, Leviathan's been my favorite based on looks alone, but the description for Sloth sounds like she could be a pretty hilarious character.
