Gunslinger Girl 2nd season to be produced

Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh, which went on sale yesterday, announced a second season of Gunslinger Girl will be produced in its October issue. The magazine prints the original manga by Yu Aida that inspired the anime series. Marvelous Entertainment, the production house or the anime, had announced a sequel in its 2006-2007 financial report but later edited the report to omit the series. So apparently the series in back in the plans.

I would have never expected or hoped for a second season in that particular anime. But im happy they decided to continue the story :D I just hope my fav. characters dont die or something....

If Gunslinger Girl can suddenly get a second season it gives some hope for other series to get one also (the ones that have been around for some years).

This comes to me as good news, and it will be interesting to follow its progress. I always thought that the first season, while good, was too short and incompelete in the story line that ran too much like clockworks. But brillantly told all the same. So I look forward to futher productions of this series.

And i would agree with Nao-Kun, that all I need is a thrid season of Rozen Maiden to be able to die happy.

I remember reading about a new season of Gunslinger Girl back when they removed it off their financial report. It's nice to get confirmation that there will in fact be new episodes.

Heh, I never would of imagined that GSG would have a sequel. It's greatly welcomed, I really enjoyed the first season, it really made me change my view on some aspects. Lolis with guns for the win xD

Sweet.

When I first came across the manga, I thought that it was well above average but nothing really spectacular. Then I gave the anime a shot. (>_<)

The stories were pretty good to begin with but the animation, ambiance, direction, voice acting, and music really brought out the full potential of the series. It's the kind of drama that stirs emotions and disturbs the conscience, leaving just enough loose ends to keep the audience interested and speculating .

I wonder if they could work their magic again?
