That's something I never knew. Not sure about western community, but A-Channel had almost no hype compare to other Spring season line-ups from what I remember, except for the fans of Saki. Anticipation for it was way less than nichijou, steins;gate, hana saku iroha, even less than Ano hana which got almost no attention until its godly 1st episode. In that sense, 6000 for A-channel is actually a hit. I was actually surprised about its sales, since its character business was very weak compare to any recent moe animations.

Lol. Underperforming. A Channel is one of those shows this season with the smallest budget, done by some former Saki-Staff and thus basically a new anime-studio. It's doing quite well, for what it can do.
I'm just glad that it does that well. It can't get buyers like Kyo-Ani after all... though to be fair Nichijou really does look great. But that's pretty much everything it does in some episodes...

A Channel has a bad time for its sales though, I guess it could've sold more without that many popular other shows as rivals. Can't buy everything.

I had no idea Kimi ni todoke was that popular, no wonder that ive heard it is the best romance anime.

That's what I thought too. I like it, I just didn't realize it was popular. XD

A-Channel is actually the second-worst selling anime featured on the list overall (after Onii-chan blah blah blah. The "lesser" editions of T&B vol1 don't count.), although some of the anime it's up against have been on slae for much longer.

Considering that pre-season expectations for A-Channel were extremely high high (above even likely best-seller AnoHana and the KyoAni-produced Nichijou), it is seriously underperforming.
