Synopsis

Mitsuha Miyamizu is a high school girl living in the countryside town of Itomori. She yearns for a life in Tokyo as she is sick of living in the countryside. At the same time, Taki Tachibana, a high school student, lives in Tokyo and has a great interest in architecture, aiming to become an urban planner in the near future.

One day, Mitsuha dreams of herself as a boy living a life in the dense capital, while Taki dreams of living as a girl in the rural town of Itomori. As time passes by, the two discover that these are not just dreams, but that they actually swap bodies upon falling asleep! Kimi no Na wa. revolves around Mitsuha and Taki as they experience the supernatural. With both of them working together to deal with the strange phenomenon, how will this impact their everyday life?

It’s bland. It’s unseasoned, raw, mushy, oily, boring, take it back, thank you.

On tonight’s Manga Nightmares we have a manga adaptation of Your Name. I guess most of us can agree that the greatest part of the movie was the animation. Now who the hell though it would be a good idea to make it into a manga without hiring the greatest manga illustrator they could get their hands on? No, instead we get an artist that rings no bells (no offense to the artist, but that’s just how it is) who delivered an adaptation that only highlights how the plot of the movie wasn’t read more

Manga adaptations based to Shinkai Makoto's movies have been very rewarding and practically obligatory reads in the past. There where the movies have been simplistic feel-good experiences that are -arguably doing their job - but still aren't much more than pretty to look at, the manga alternatives have been pushing the characters and story much further: offering the real emotional content.

Voices of a Distant Star manga build an incredible melancholic atmosphere with powerful, bittersweet conclusion. 5 centimeters per second manga, on the other hand, continued the story much further, introduced a whole new aspect to the narrative, and utterly focused on character feelings. go watch the movie. The manga is the same with the movie, with some few additional scene that were cut from the film. if u read this b4 watching the movie, you are doing a disservice. Because the movie was the true superior adaptation. The visual and sounds of the movie will add layer and depth to the experience. More than reading the manga will ever done. But if you finish the movie and like it i suggesting reading it on your free-time. Because it has some scene that were cut from the film, but sadly if your looking for a OVA or extended read more

This manga is totally same as the movie and light novel.

8/10 story - Two teenagers, totally stranger to each other living in two different places starts to body swap and a melodramatic and romantic story sprinkled with a bit comedy follows.

8/10 art- above average, the few color pages that this manga have are very beautifully drawn and pleasing to look at at just like the movie.

7/10 chatterers - not much to say they are just average, seriously.our main guy is a shy boy who is nervous to ask out his coworker while our main girl is a country bumpkin who has father issues and read more
