Preliminary Spoiler
Jul 5, 2018
"If lets say, you were to write a story with me as the main character, it would certainly be a tragedy" What an amazing ride this manga has been for the last seven years from the first one to the sequel. In this review i will try to cover only the sequel.

Story: 9
I feel like the story is not the strongest part of what makes the manga that much enjoyable but is the characters and their development as well, but after a certain point of this manga we finally saw what the true purpose of this story is about, as we saw what characters were ...

Preliminary (25/181 chp)
Alright, so I read the whole manga after watching the anime and I LOVED IT. I start reading the first couple of chapters and to be honest, I had to adjust to it. I read the first chapters a couple of times to realize what's going on. After I had finally got what was going on, I now loved the story. Its great that this is around 2 years after the Anteiku Raid. So many questions still unanswered since that latest chapter was 25. This follows Haise Sasaki (who looks almost exactly like Kaneki), a CCG investigator and the supervisor of the newly formed Quinx ...

So it has finally ended, what a ride it has been. This review will contain minor spoilers but will not refer to any specifics.

In the later half of the original Tokyo Ghoul, Ishida had begun to explore the maddening, fracturing psyche of Ken Kaneki. Tokyo Ghoul:Re is the natural continuation of this exploration and delivers an extremely satisfying resolution about halfway in.

However, things deteriorate after this. The second half of the Manga is sadly lacking in my opinion, delving into a long, uninteresting and poorly plotted arc (with a few standout sequences) which ultimately only leads to a sort of doubling down on the ...

Tokyo Ghoul is one of the more prominent figures in the Anime/Manga industry as of late. With the two anime shows showing in the last year, and the original story ending late last year. Tokyo Ghoul:re is the second manga by the author, Sui Ishida, and the continuation of the story which takes place a few years after the first. It is full of everything the first manga series brought to the table. The author certainly has not lost an edge in the years.

Story: 8/10.

The original story was an absolute masterpiece. Everything tying together, with certain what if moments and twists sprawled out throughout every ...

(a quick outpouring of my myriad feelings after thinking about the most recent chapters of RE. aka don't expect quality)

Ishida Sui is a genius. His story is sprawling, with twists and turns and foreshadowing in every corner.
Small, maybe insignificant details you may have written off on a first read through carries new meaning afterwards. For example, a reveal in a relatively recent chapter (~mid 50s) will ensure that I will never be able to read any part of the original, beginning to end, the same way ever again. This reveal was foreshadowed everywhere, from Kaneki Ken's psychological mindset, to indications in the art, in his ...

Tokyo Ghoul Re was pretty phenomenal. The story starts off pretty slow but once it picks up it doesn't stop with the enjoyable plot progression. Characters are all pretty interesting and none feel like throwaway characters and are given ample amounts of character growth and screen time. The only character I had a real problem with was the final antagonist, Furuta. He seemed far too perfect of a villain during the final arc, constantly having the upper hand and getting his way at every step. I didn't have an issue with the plot progression but it seemed crazy to me how good of an antagonist ...

Preliminary (53/181 chp)
This review is based on what I've read in the 53 chapters that are out so far so everything should be taken within context,

Art: The art is decent. It definitely saw some improvement from the original series. it's difficult to understand sometimes but after reading it some time it becomes tolerable. Ishida picks his spots on where to show off his skills and you can tell in certain chapters. Not expecting quality like One Punch Man type because thats crazy to ask for but it's quite obvious Ishida picks his spots. 7/10

Story: I was quite skeptical about Tokyo Ghoul Re. In fact I held ...

Absolutely one of the best manga I ever read. It has everything you need: great plot, a lot of character differentiation, even more deeper analysis of the main characters than the first manga and a lot of plot twists.

Plot (it can contain SPOILERS from the first manga): after the end of Tokyo Ghoul, the manga starts focusing on CCG, in particular Haise Sasaki, supervisor of the Quinx, the newest addition to the CCG's arsenal. These are teens with Ghoul implants, quite the same as Kaneki but "perfected", and used to counter ghouls. Starting from here, the mangaka managed to answer alot questions but open new ...

I absolutely love this sequel. In my opinion, it's one of the best, no, it's THE best manga out there right now. If you're wondering if you should read this - if you liked Tokyo Ghoul, you'll LOVE Tokyo Ghoul:re.

Story: (10/10)

When the first Tokyo Ghoul manga ended, there was a TON of unanswered questions. At first, what many people here said is true - we see a lot of the CCG and not much gets answered...

The main character doesn't remember who he is. He's surrounded by new people, it feels like an entirely new series.
That's because the author is a troll.

Story: 8 (highest highs were way higher than lowest lows imo)
Art: 8 (fighting scenes can be hard to understand sometimes but it's still so beautiful)
Character: 9 (-1 because of the way some character arcs ended)
Enjoyment: 9 (-1 'cause final arc..)

Overall: 8.5 (bumped to 9 because of extreme character attachment)

I’m not really good at writing reviews but I thought I’d write one for Tokyo Ghoul:re, a manga that has always been one of my top favourites since I started reading manga.

If you can't be bothered to read through this review, my conclusion is that despite its flaws, TG:re more than deserves a try if you're up ...

When you have and end like Tokyo Ghoul, it's obvious to be anxious and excited about what will happen? Actually what just happened? Did he die? Did he become a quinque? Is this the end?

NO fellow reader it is not the end, here we have Tokyo Ghoul:re, same author, same amazingness and the most important 'the same twisted world'. (Yes there's kaneki too).

In part 1 we saw how twisted both humans and ghouls are and a protagonist that lies between both, not just because he has been both, (there are quite a few who were turned into ghouls), BUT because he has seen that both ...

Tokyo Ghoul:re is, in its entirety, the epitome of amazing sequels, following its previous story with the same stroke of genius and brilliance that was shown in Tokyo Ghoul.

• Story •

Something a lot of people complain about is the story and its organization. Now, I confess, compared to the anime series, or even Tokyo Ghoul (the first), it can be kinda incoherent and confusing as the chapters go on. That's why I had to dock a point from my original story rating (but why is it only lowered to an eight, you ask? I just couldn't bring myself to rate it any lower.)

I, too, ...

Spoilers(you have been warned).Tokyo ghoul:re started off slow and honestly not that great in my opinion.I didnt like Haise(kaneki) and the quinx and the rest of the characters seemed lackluster but as a tokyo ghoul fan of the previous series i kept reading.

With the introduction of familar characters like touka and nishio the series started to get better not to mention the flashbacks of kaneki we see in haise mind, add to that the revealation of Takizawa working for aogiri as one eyed ghoul was a superb twist and added flair to the story.

Still the series wasnt as good as its predecessor until the ...

This review was written based of what i have read (from chapter 1 to chapter 61).
From what i have read on the manga i think the story is very well written and is more deep than what i though after reading the first series (tokyo ghoul). Basically this series has a lot more plot twists than the 1st series so lets get into it. As you may know this manga mc is sasaki wich you may know or not his real identity (which i am not going to spoil to people who haven't read it but you may guess it). The story concerns more into ...

Story - 9/10
This manga is the sequel to Tokyo Ghoul and starts off with the new Quinx squad. Some people might be confused about the whole first 1-2 chapters but it soon becomes clear. After reading Tokyo Ghoul, I learned that Ishida rarely makes any plot holes. This just proves that there is a purpose in why he chose to time his story a certain way, and why certain characters re-appear.

In fact, Ishida has already laid out the full skeleton of the story early on and is only connecting the bones as the story develops. Yes, you have to pay attention to details, ...

So I originally watch Studio Perriot's (studio clown) anime for Tokyo Ghoul, I loved it and went onto the manga. I read it pretty quickly and moved onto Tokyo Ghoul:re, but I did get stuck in the earlier chapters and left it for a while.
But I came back, and goddammit I'm so glad I did.
In the beginning not much happens, but the chapters get better, I have currently read all of the released chapters, and currently it is my favorite manga.
The amount of foreshadowing and little hints is outstanding, the terot cards that show so much meaning to characters, the ties between things, ...

After watching the anime a long time ago, when it came out (in 2014 I think) and abstaining for a long time to read the manga, I decided to read the whole manga, and it was really worth it (I started it months ago, and when I read it I was still broadcasting , but then it finished publishing D:)

There's major's spoilers in here, read at your own risk.

It had a great ending, Kaneki gave everything to achieve his goal, he died many times, was dismembered, tortured to the point of mental breakdown among other things, but he proved to be very strong and in ...

This review comes after having just finished :Re myself after hearing a cavalcade of general backlash and dislike against it, so allow me to start with the conclusion:

Give this series a chance. Read it like the conversation the series' protagonists fight to produce and meet it at its word rather than at the expectations you may or may not set for it.

Now, to be more specific...

At its worst :Re is occasionally crippled by difficult to track plot lines that intersect maybe a bit too much for their own good, but at its best it's an excellent meditation on the appeal of anti-heroism, tragedy, and nihilism.

:Re's ...

the hardest part of this manga is starting it after tokyo ghoul proper. i promise you, i beg of you, i swear to you on my LIFE you need to just finish the first volume and it'll be just like reading the best parts of tokyo ghoul again. you will want to read the second one as soon as you can get your hands on it. the new cast of characters and the shift in perspective feels jarring and like youre stuck with a cheap cash grab. until 3/4ths of the way through volume 1, and tokyo ghoul as you love it hits you like ...

Tokyo ghoul re...one of the few manga which i must say, left a big hole in my heart.Even after reading it,i found it difficult to let go of of the world which Sui Ishida has created. That is how much of a impression it made on me,it was really hard and difficult to come to the terms that i have read it and the amount of the emotions which took me were quite overwhelming. Is it a perfect story?Of course its not, as well as the main character himself. He is not perfect,he is a mess.A mess of all emotions he kept bottled deep inside him, which he had to ...
