Hey, I saw your review, and was just wanting to quickly mention that I'd recommend you watch the first 250 episodes of the Anime (upto the Enies Lobby arc) before moving onto the manga. The Anime has really excellent pacing up until that point, in which thereafter, the pacing becomes diabolical. There's one arc around the 700 episode mark that literally adapts less than 1 chapter per episode, it's agony.
But, as I said, the Anime is spectacular up to the episode 250 mark. And, man, you've yet to see some really killer arcs, so, even if you don't decide to continue with the Anime, be sure to pick up the manga soon. I'm actually shocked that you already rate the series an 8/10 to be honest, lmao.
Also, One Piece has 99 filler episodes in the Anime, which translates to 11% filler, however, the good thing about filler episodes in One Piece is that they're always entire arcs rather than just random episodes that pop-up out of nowhere in the middle of a cannon-arc. And some of the filler is actually notorious for being amazing, like the G-8 arc. This show is nothing like Naruto for its fillers.

Take care, pal.
