Jiro Matsumoto's short story collection begins with a wry, kooky detailed love affair amidst a city in war-time. Our plucky author finds herself taking her neighbour's identity on a whim and embroiling herself with an unwitting revolutionist's assassination plan, and also his nether regions while she's at it. It’s a Wong Kar-Wai style whimsical tale of fleeting lust, love and laughs.

Kakumeika no Gogo is a collection of stories by Jiro Matsumoto, a mangaka who I hear a lot from being underrated. After reading this collection, I must say that it was a good presentation of what possibly awaits me in the author's longer works. And, at the same time that I saw its great qualities, I also saw its small defects.

First of all, I must say that Jiro is a very creative author with ideals very well applied, he knows how to tell a story and he knows how to innovate. Their stories contain explicit sexual content and gore from time to time, so it read more
