This was an incredible manga!! I loved it and i think anyone would love to read this anime. The suspense is incredible! i found myself trying to skip some pages but every page was so important to the story and you will regret it if you skip a volume. there is always something going on. you will love the suspense and thrill it will give you.

The story is awesome you never know whats gonna happen next. the art is outstanding its just so modern yet new the way the characters are drawn. The characters are awesome you just have to love all of them. ...

I watched the anime before I read the manga, and I suggest you do the same.

The level of voice acting, along with the outstanding soundtrack just makes this manga SO much better.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the manga. They're equal as far as enjoyment is concerned. But, I feel like if you enjoy reading manga more than watching anime, then you might just enjoy the manga a LOT more if you watch the anime first.

When it comes to the mind battles, you can hear L's or Kira's theme play in the back of your head as you read... It's really an amazing ...

Preliminary (28/108 chp)
since this series is written by the same person who wrote Hikaru no go i thought i would give this series a whirl. I was surprised to find a array of compelling characters who who at once enthrall and disgust you. Raiko a boy who meets a shinigami and wields the power to kill just by writing down a name in a notebook, sounds cool but at the same time you have to think about the terrifying power that this boy commands. Though out this series you follow one boys journey to eradicate crime by killing those who commit them with the police hot on ...

What can I say? The immense popularity of Desu Nōto/Death Note is absolutely warranted. Its story is magnificent with twists and turns that leave you speechless, the geniuses on show are unprecedented, the characters themselves all felt real - each with their nuances, giving each individual a feel; by the end you can tell which character is which just by the things they'd say. The art style is great, and the story had good pacing, plot twist after plot twist yet it always surprises you... Death Note is a manga for the ages, absolutely great.

I recommend this manga for sure as you'd feel from my ...

Death Note was a blast to read ! I prefer the excitement created with this kind of battle of the minds shonen to excitement created with physical fights, battles in most of the shonens at my age. The intricate plans set in motion by Light, Ryuzaki, Near and Mello were alot of fun to read.

There were some parts i said ''eh this is too much'' though. That is why Death Note doesn't get a 10 perfect score from me. Light and Ryuzaki were both being champion tenis players was too much. It is shonen, but still being geniouses in mind and being genious athlets at ...

*contains spoilers*

Death Note was (like for many others) one of my first anime experiences ever. The core dynamic between Light and L had me completely hooked the entire way through, but I found the second half to be severely lacking to the point of genuine hate growing for that portion. About 8 months or so back, I decided to give the manga try (having been about 4 years since first watching the anime) and re-evaluate my thoughts on Light's journey at creating an "ideal" world. Now, finally putting the journey to rest, my opinions have evolved into something much more convoluted then I could have ...

So, there are lots of things to say about Death Note but I won't write too long about it. I watched anime version of Death Note before I read the manga and I'll be honest I just liked it, that's it. But when I began to read manga my thoughts about it began to change as well. I finished the manga yesterday and I can finally say that Death Note is a masterpiece. It's really a masterpiece. The characters of it, the scenario of it are well written. Even though I knew what would happen in the next page, I was soo excited to see ...

The characters (especially the antagonist) are hyper-intelligent in their ways and design, a 10 for great villainy. However, they did not grow well in their development enough to lead to this number of manga volumes, which leads me to believe the Artist should have combined at least a couple of the later works in order to be a perfect manga. Who cares about that when anyone who hasn't already will enjoy this series and all it has to offer the globe, especially non-manga readers.

I will re-read this volume set soon enough, since it has solid re-read-ability.
This unique and brilliant story has sadly many pacing ...

I must say the first half of the story is good, no, amazing. that is until the time skip where Light being a great actor fooling the police department for years. It started off real strong, but the second half isn't as awesome as the first half.

L and Light's rivalry is entertaining, enjoyable and thrilling. I love how they predict each other's thoughts. I was supporting L, I feel L is superior in everything except for the Death Note.

Ending is not good. I was expecting a huge mind battle but the build up for that final showdown was a no for me. It feels ...

Usually I hand out 10s in the enjoyment category, but even I have to admit that after vol 7 I did not enjoy Death Note nearly as much. Vols 1-7 are a masterpiece of clever, engaging, and intense writing. After that, the story falls off. Though it should be noted that the ending is actually pretty solid by all means. It may remain divisive but it brought conclusion to the characters and did not leave a bitter taste in my mouth so I appreciate that. Another strong suit of Death Note is its great characters. Yes, there are a few characters not as good as ...

hauntingly intricate and beautifully suspenseful.

i absolutely enjoyed the shit out of this manga. from the quirky characters, to the scary shinigami's - i loved every moment. the bit where (SPOILERS!) L died, was so shocking yet so melancholic, i had to stand up and take a break to breathe.

in my mind i was like, "maybe if the circumstances were different, L and light would have been good friends." that thought bugged me throughout the entire reading of the manga. the more i thought of it, the sadder i became. maybe light did consider being friends with L, for just a split second, maybe. but ...

Hands down the best anime I've ever watched, with an art style I find superior to Code Geass and an equally as impressive story it takes the place of my favorite anime. Would recommend as it is captivating to this day. Keep in mind the show does die down a bit for the second season however the manga does not make the same mistake. Haven't been this captivated in years and even in the past 3 years nothing has come close, attack on titan included. I still rewatch it from time to time and must say the show holds up.

I completely fell in love with this manga. I loved the way the two main characters faced off with each other and their intelligence. I loved how the story line basically talked about one of the world's most asked questions and whether or not L's side was right or Light's side was right. However, after a certain main character died (people who have read the series know who I am talking about) the series just fell out for me. It wasn't as nearly as fun to read anymore and I felt Light was making too many mistakes than he was before and that the way ...

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely": a quote that Light Yagami would have done well to understand. In Death Note, the question of the value of human life and the solution to crime is presented to Light in the form of the Death Note in question, and the events that ensue are one hell of a ride.

The story of Death Note grips you at every single stage, and never lets you go. Even when the main cast of characters change into slightly less-enjoyable counterparts (cough Near), the excellent story-telling is preserved. The story begins with a young Light finding a mysterious notebook while on his way ...

As a modern classic that also helped me get into the medium of manga and anime, I hold Death Note in warm regard. This naturally led to me deciding to reread the entire manga when I got back into said mediums two or so years ago by purchasing the Black Editions. While I still enjoyed myself, I found myself developing new opinions and feelings regarding this title.

[Story - 7]

In case if you don't know what this manga is about, here's the elevator pitch: A high-school kid finds a notebook that can kill people, and decides to become a god with it. From there, he is ...

Everybody pretty much knows what happens in this story. A battle of wits between "L" and Kira. I'll keep it short and straight to the point: the art is incredible, especially the hair, but the plotlines with the different tactics was awesome to read, especially towards the end where "N" and Kira give their big monologues about how they got the advantage on the other.

While reading the story, you may come to understand Kira's side (evil needs to be wiped out, but can only be done by a divine presence. I believe that's a truth in this world.), but you will love L even more ...
