Bakuman had a Slice of life subject, the main characters Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi's dream was being the best mangakas in Japan, but it was a shonen manga so the execution of the story was not very realistic after all, but the emotional side of the story, things like Taro Kawaguchi were used so well that you look over some of the over the top parts of the story.
Hiramaru sensei was my favorite character. Hiramaru sensei and his editor Yoshida's comedy rutin was hilarious most of the time. Nakai sensei was really funny as well, i was really cracking up as Nakai sensei
...
got really round because of the pizzas, he ate as the story moved forward. I think the relationship between Mashiro and Miho was something only a Japanese would think normal, pure and wholsome. HA HA It was something i didn't understand, everyone in the manga was so moved by how Mashiro and Miho didn't see each other in their 8 years releationship because of their promise and how ''pure'' it was... Japanese people really have a weird understading of ''pure''... HA HA If you have a girlfriend and if you do nothing with her, it is such a ''pure'' relationship for Japanese people... HA HA This is what i understand from the manga. Then again what is the point of having a girlfriend, if you do nothing with her ???? HA HA I don't know how much of the manga's story was from Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's real life, but as far as Obata said there was alot of reality in the manga.
Eiji Nizuma was a really funny character as well. Story never went back to Shiratose character, i wonder if he could make it as a successful mangaka... And Nakai sensei didn't really have a conclution, i wonder if he could get in shape and find a wife. HA HA

Wow... 26 films... I was really excited to see Detective Conan Anime Film in a theather after like 28 years or something. I used to watch the tv anime on television when i was at junior high. I remember it as amazing, but the film was not that good...
I was not sure what was going on in some scenes. lol Yeah, i haven't seen the previous 25 films of Detective Conan, but i don't think that was the reason. It wasn't very believable as well... I mean some aspect of the story, like the new tecnology, face recognition system or whatever its name was...
...
It was too spesific of a threat for Conan Edogawa. I would expect something more compelling from Detective Conan, but afterall i was at junior high when i was watching the show on tv so it may have never been that compelling. lol
I still like Detective Conan or the manga named The Case Closed. Conan Edogawa will always be a beloved character from my childhood.

Well, i must say i am glad this is not a story which was inspired by the mangaka's real life (she stated that in the mangas afterword.) because what this manga's protogonist went through was really horrible, but i am glad that it all ended in a way which will give hope to the kids who went through similar stuations when they read this manga. I have a feeling there are many kids who went through similar stuations in Japan.
The Manga was about bullying... What baffled me was the reason of bulliying. All of her class mates bullied the poor girl because one of them
...
cought her kissing a boy. I mean this is no reason to bully anyone around here in my country... I couldn't help but think those japanese school kids were opresed sadistic maniac nazi materials. Especially because of the reason the poor girl was bullied. I was glad i didn't born in Japan while i was reading the manga.

the premise is Batman fell into a chemical tank while Joker and Batman were fighting and turned into a baby. HA HA (This was paralel with how Joker was created.) Joker decided to raise Batbaby to become Batman. Afterall what is a villain without his archenemy. The Manga was all about Joker's struggle as a single RESPOSIBLE parent... HA HA the stuations were so absurt and some of them were really hilarious. This is probably the most absurt manga, i have ever read. All the American characters were acting with Japanese mannerism really took the absurdty level up a notch as well.
The Panels which were
...
scenes from The Dark Knight film and Joker film were well pulled off, they were hilarious. Harley Quinn had a big part in the story as well. It was really fun to see a Joker with Nolan Films vibes (especially design vise) with Harley Quinn. They really worked together well in the manga. Batman is my favorite American Comics Character and i really enjoyed this manga. It is a very short read as well, only 21 chapters.

It's a really heart felt good story which will leave a long impression. It was about frinedship, consiquences of bulliying and deafness.
It really depicted well the hardship of deafness... The bulliying at the early parts of the book was very harsh. What made me get really emotional was the part at the end where The main character Shoko and Shoya graduated from high school, and before they went though the door to left the building, shoya took a one last look at another door which had his elementary schools name on it... And that hit me where i live... You can never go back to
...
those days you know, all the fun and pain are just distant memories now, you can never be an elementary school kid again... seeing that panel, and this thought really made me emotional.
I wish i could go back and relive my childhood with all the fun and pain of it again... Being an adult is really hard... HA HA !

This is the first Inio Asano work which i read. (I also have all the Punpun volumes) I hear from most manga readers that they don't like this Inio Asano work... and it was short so i cheked it out, knowing how popular Inio Asano is, what is it with this single volume short that make his regular readers don't like it...
And oh boy... Was there alot of sex scenes in this manga, HA HA i was like oh so this is what made them don't like it, after all they are like i'm all for violance but god forbid any sex scene.... HA HA
...
simpletons. This manga is beautiful, it's as slice of life as it gets and that includes the ''dirty'' sex boys and girls. As i said, it's a beautiful slice of life manga about junior high kids, Isobe and Koume, they were last year at junior high and they were Fuckbuddies... HA HA Isobe was a pretty depresed lonely avarage boy because of the suicide of his older brother because of bullying at school... Koume was an avarage junior high girl, not that cute at all, just an avarage girl... They got together at Isobe's house and had sex, alot. Isobe thought of suicide and Koume fell for him as the time pasted... And on a stormy school festival day, Isobe kind of took his brothers ravenge from some other school kids, and got some relief. Koume looked for him everywhere at storm and finally after the storm, she found him at school next day with a new ugly hair cut. HA HA He was cheerful, that suprised Koume.
Later on police came to ask for the assult on the stormy night to Isobe,(that was isobe's revenge) Isobe was like sure ask anything, and we never saw him again... Probably Police got everything from him and took him under custody. Poor boy. At the last chapter, we saw Koume with her new boy friend at last year of high school... She probably already forgot all about Isobe... It's that she lost her camera's SD card at the shore... And at the early parts of manga Isobe found an SD card on the shore, found a girl's selfies in it. So this SD card could be the same SD card, somekind of time travel phenomenon possibly,l ast year junior high student Isobe found Senior High school girl Koume's SD card on the shore. Interesting but that's not clear, manga didn't clearly state that both are the same SD cards. It's ambigius.
I liked this manga and looking forward to reading Goodnight Punpun.

Let me tell you something first, i couldn't survive in the Blame! world like 15 minutes... They invented incredible things, it was a Cyberpunk manga but they couldn't invent railings for some reason. There were these mega structures of an endless city which was made out of parts called stratas and there wasn't one single railing at the side of the stairs or bridges in anywhere... ! i would definetly fall... HA HA !
Kidding asside it was an incredible manga... Mangaka prefered to tell the story mostly by art, there wasn't much dialogue so it was a very fast read. The action was very well
...
executed, the amount of it was so perfect. I couln't guess if the manga would end good or bad right away... That was the feeling a quality indy book would give to you. Just amazing. The main character Kyrii was in the search of a something called Net Terminal Gene, the persons who had the Net Terminal Gene could axcess to the netsphere and put everything back to normal. The whole city of mega structure of stratas was in chaos and only the human with Net Terminal Gene could put a stop to this. There were beings called Silicon Life (they were kind of like cyborgs) who thrived on this chaos so they didn't want anyone to find the human with Net Terminal Gene, so they were killing all the humans that they could find... And There were safeguards, probably a security mechanism went wrong which was killing all the humans without Net Terminal Gene as well... Kyrii and later on an ally Cibo fought against them to protect the humans while they were searching for the Human or Humans with the Net Terminal Gene.
It was uncertain that how long Kyrii was on a quest to find the human with The Net Terminal Gene. He was very determant, iron willed, strong silent type. My favoriet type of character. They never complain and don't think anything other then the job or quest at hand. Kyrii's journey was kind of melencolic one because of the empty vast space he dwelled in... He was so little and lonely in The Vast Spaces and around gigantic structures... And in the end he was alone... still trying to achive the quest... :/ that was so sad... :/ don't get me wrong, it was a well done end but a bit confusing. I also liked that many things left unclear, i'm glad that we don't have encyclopedic information about everything in the end. I prefer this mystery on many things about the world of Blame!, the story was more paralel with the real life in an interesting way like this.
The art was raw and sketchy. It was suiting about a world which has many unknown things about.

Ghost in the Shell, the phenomenon that took over the world in the early 2000s with anime films. I finally read the source material, Mangaka Shirow Masamune's magnum opus, the Ghost in the Shell Manga in 2023. Better late than never.
I read the Hard Cover edition and it had some annotations on the side of the panels that gave information about the GITS world. Soft Cover editions don't have the annotations as far as i learned. The Manga was a very hard read with the annotations, so many information were given about the lore of GITS like the mangaka explained so many technology of
...
the things in his GITS World including sci fi robotics and guns to religion. I had really hard time reading at some parts, it was not like a pleasure read to past the time, but rather it was like studiying advenced robotics techonology or something at some parts... Very tiring.
I am also surprised how mangaka talked about spirituality like he believes in god and spirits etc. Yeah, it says ''Ghost'' in The Shell on the title, but i thought he meant something like consciousness with ''Ghost'' not actual Ghosts and spirits... I very much disagree with the mangaka on ghost being the true selves of beings, if we talk about sentient beings the consciousness is the only self. Therefor all life don't have a self. There are no Ghosts or Spirits of any sort. Being life form is not about haveing vast information. A plant has zero information and no self but it is a life form. And also mangaka supported the idea of capital punishment and highly resented the advenced countries that forbided it... wow... I also disagree with him here. No one has any right to kill anyone. Executing serial killers is no solution to the problem because those people are mentally ill, it is not in their hands to stop killing. You can't make an example of them for them. They need medical psychatric treatment.
Even mangaka himself admits that all the manga was just my imagination runing wild and i may have really talked about nonsense here and there in the Manga. So take it all with a grain of salt. It was a fun read overall with the random section 9 operations and with the addition of the hacker puppeteer in the end.

It was a really melancholic read from start to finish. Poor Chito and Yuuri... probably the last surviving little girls on the planet earth.
It was the end of humanity. Humanity had a very devistating war in the future which resulted with the end of humanity. Chito and Yuuri, our main characters on a journey on their kettenkrad model motor bike on a city on a post apocalyptic earth. They met with a man named Kanazawa and later on a woman on their journey and they were probably the last survivors of humanity in a gaint city which made out of stratas. Chito and Yuuri tried
...
to go to the highest strata, it was their goal... what awaited them on the highest strata was an unknown until the very end.
This manga was more sophisticated than your average manga. It asked questions and made you think like what is life ? what is being alive ? what is war ? what is religion ? what is a God ? why do people aspire for anything ? like contructing things, developing techologies and creating art ? You got this questions as Chito and Yuuri questioned their existance as two little girls in this post apocalyptic world and they were very grateful for being alive in the end, no matter how hard and desperate the stuation that they faced. So the manga had a possitive message as well and that was it is great to be alive. (No matter how short it is)

Knights of Sidonia manga was Tsutomu Nihei's take on the Mecha branch of Sci Fi genre. All of Tsutomu Nihei's works are Sci Fi, he is a Sci Fi / Cyber Punk mangaka. All of Tsutomu Nihei's works are connected, they share the same Universe, but the characters and places in each of his mangas are different.
If you read one of his works like The Blame! before reading Knights of Sidonia, you have seen familiar names like Toha Heavy Industries and Graviton Radial Emitter in the manga. Toha Heavy Industries was the big corporation which developed all kinds of technologies from mechas to Graviton Radial
...
Emitter, super weapon (which was the most powerful weapon in Nihei Universe) in Nihei's mangas. Knights of Sidonia's story was about some of the remaning humanity's existential survival against a no negotibale, bearly sentient alien beings called Gauna and a human scientist. I liked all the characters and wanted them to win against Gauna and the mad scienteist Ochiai. Ochiai had his convincing reasons to did what he did as he explained his motivations and purpose in the end of the manga, he wouldn't shy away from any kind of immoral act to achive whatever he thought necessary including inhumane experiments which could be considered taboo, murder and even mass murder... You know, the kind of personality that comes with being a mad scientist... HA HA
The Manga was Lgbt community friendly in a futuristic way. One of the main characters, Izana Shinatose was a geneticly engineered person with both male and female genitalia. He/She could swing both ways according to male or female person, he/she liked and could even give birth to a clone of his/her self without needing any partner. he/she was one of the 3rd gender persons in the fictional future of Knights of Sidonia. All the people on board of Space Ship Sidonia were geneticly engineered, (it was necessary for the survival of humanity at some point in the Sidonia's history.) most of them could photosynthesise and eat only once a week.
The Protoganist Nagate Tanikaze was the ace mecha pilot of The Space Ship Sidonia and he had a harem... HA HA I don't think i can name all the girls in his harem but i will try, Izana (3rd Gender), Teruru (a cybernetic girl), Tsumugi (a gauna, human hybrid), Yuhata, Captain Kobayashi and even some of the Honoka sisters (who were like 8 same looking clone girls or something). I think Nagate nailed Kobayashi at some point (high five), there were hints but it was ambiguous.
I tried my best to give a review to the manga without spoiling it. hope you liked what you read and give a shot to the manga.
