A doting mother and her two beloved sons, one of whom she thinks is probably gay, go about their daily lives in this hilarious and heartwarming LGBTQIA+-friendly family comedy!

Despite belonging to a family of four, the Aoyama residence is typically home to three due to father Akiyoshi's job. While he's away at work, mom Tomoko and her two beloved sons Hiroki and Yuri go about their everyday lives--going to school, making dinner, doing homework, etc. But now that Hiroki's in his first year of high school, his thoughts are turning ever so slightly to sex and romance...and his mom can't help but notice his slips of the tongue when he's talking about who he likes. Supportive Tomoko has an inkling Hiroki might be gay, but she's going to let him figure it out for himself. Unfortunately, Hiroki has little talent for keeping his "secret," so he might die of embarrassment before all is said and done!

Uchi no Musuko wa Tabun Gay (Our Son is Probably Gay) is written from a mother's point of view who suspects that her eldest son (Hiroki) is gay, since he is very bad at hiding things.

Each chapter usually deals with Hiroki dropping hints or stumbling over words to hide his sexuality while having interactions with his mom. The mother usually either doesn't address it or goes along with it, as she does not want to push him and eventually let him come out himself once he feels comfortable with it.

The manga is rather cute and fluffy and not too serious on the topic of read more

Uchi no Musuko wa Tabun Gay is a very lighthearted and feel-good manga. I've enjoyed every single chapter that has been translated into English thus far.

The manga is told from the perspective of the mother of two young boys, the older of which she starts to suspect might be gay. While the title says that the son is "probably gay", it is pretty evident that he is. Each chapter focuses on a separate incident involving the son's sexuality and how his mother tries her best to support him respectfully without directly asking about it.

It is very rare to find an entertaining queer manga also made read more

When I see the series “I Think Our Son is Gay”, the title peeves me a little. You might ask why and it’s a problem that occurs especially in the media today.

If you’ve ever heard of a story on popular Canadian pop artist Shawn Mendes, you might know about some rumors about his sexuality possibly being on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. You might also unknowingly be part of the problem. However, you should also know that Shawn Mendes is a REAL person and his sexuality is also his own private information. He also has explicitly stated in interviews that he is a straight person. When an read more

I haven't seen a proper dissection of LGBTQ issues like this. I'm so happy to have found this. Support it. It needs it. We need teaching. We need acknowledgement. We need change. This is change. This right here is beautiful! The characters are really well written, the art is simple but extremely well done, and the comedy and dialogue makes this series a hidden favorite of mine. I just randomly picked this up out of sheer boredom and I don't regret it a bit. I'm definitely gonna keep this on my radar. Thank you Okura-sensei. From the Carribean<3 Keep up the good work.
