Synopsis

Meru Tachibana, 12 years old. She's just returned back to Tokyo after 7 years of training with her father, who thought she was a boy! Now Meru is stronger than most guys, and she's doing her best to make sure that people don't find out, or else her chances of making friends is ruined! However, a group of eighth graders seem insistant on making that impossible, as they break the rules and pick on the weak. Will Meru be able to stop them as the new student council president without appearing to be a "Monster From Melt King" as her mother has warned?

Here I was, randomly searching through anime at speeds that made my Internet groan and suffer…sorry DSL, when someone somewhere in the vast world that is the Internet recommended Fly High! Sure I’ll try it, why not? Worst case scenario it’s so bad it’s frustrates me, some brain cells die and the other ones left are sitting on a chair rocking back and forth (I accessorize up there with the occasional chair and bed, in case you were wondering). Best case, what we all hope for, you laugh, smile, laugh some more, and remember it FOREVER. Or until you’re so old you don’t remember read more

Story: Hmm.... I really don't know what to say for this...it's okay i guess. The 'cliff hangers' make you want to read more and more. The ending really isn't too satisfying though....for romantic reasons

Art: I loved the art style. Nice legs, beautiful flowy hair, all the elements of shojo art. Especially the big eyes. The good thing is, that they weren't too sparkly which suited my taste. Sometimes they lacked pupils which nerved me out. The proportion was perfect. In some mangas, the face is too flat, legs too short, limbs crooked, fat waists etc. None in Fly High. Also, I have to give read more

Fly High is one of those Shoujo manga which has a protagonist who is "tough". It has a plot which you could probably have read but as you read deeper, you will find yourself drawn to read more. And no, it does not have a lot of fighting scenes which I totally expect to have.

warning! MAY contain spoilers.
So, the story is a good read. Though there may be times where in you'll get annoyed with Meru (like What-the-f***-are-you-doing kind of annoyed) you'll eventually get over it cuz of the explanation. It may have its down moment but well, what shoujo manga has not down read more

I like this manga because the heroine is not a damsel in distress. It's a really cute and heartwarming story. It's also interesting and funny.
