Probably one of the most interesting interpretations of the greek gods and myths. It has such an interesting concept and explores it so well in it's short amount of chapters. It leaves you feeling satisfied with the world building and characters, but also there is still some questions unresolved in which allows enough for the audience to interpret for themselves which leaves a lingering impression. The story begins with a lot of hopelessness as the main character has the odds staked against him, it's almost nihilistic. However, the main characters strong personality and resilience makes it so the story isn't as depressing as it could
...
have been.
The plot may be the weakest, as there isn't much of a plot. As I said before it's more exploring the concepts it brings up rather than the characters striving for a goal. Especially in the beginning in which chapters had their own self-contained arcs rather than overarching plot lines, following mostly the same characters. However, even with this short plot lines, they are important to the world building and the writing is really good. In the later chapters there are longer arcs which take more chapters to resolve. So maybe it isn't for everyone. However, I enjoyed how the story came to its conclusion, and again it has one of the most unique interpretations of these old gods.

Villains are destined to die is probably my favourite Villainess reincarnation story. It doesn't fall into the trappings of so many other stories within this cliche and is truly able to stand out in this saturated market.
Story. The story is really interesting. It isn't the first Villainess story to involve death flags, but it's the only one which make the death flags feel like actual threats. The story also never lets you forget that this is part of a game.he only thing about the story that I'm not too fond of is the pacing, sometimes I feel like some scenes drag on for too long
...
such as the festival scene, where it could really cut a lot of scenes. It's the same problem some other webtoon and manga have in which we have to read every single thought the characters is having, when they could just visual show it. I know this was original a novel, but I think that changing the medium should allow for some flexibility of what is shown in the manga/webtoon.
Art. The art is good and consistent through out. I know some people don't like that the art isn't the same as the novel's cover art, but. I personally have no bias towards either art style. Both are really pretty.
Character. I really love the characters. They all feel fully realised with very different personalities, and don't change easily like real people do. At least not most people. The Duke and the Maid are the two characters I don't really like. The Duke changes his attitude almost immediately and that just doesn't make sense and also is quite unsatisfying. The Maid also does a 180 being completely devoted and loyal to the female lead, which just doesn't make sense. And because these characters are important and show up a lot, I feel like it lowers it's rating a little.
Enjoyment. What I really love about this story is that despite having the same scenes as cliche otome games, it always feels fresh. It's never boring nor does it feel like it's making fun of Otome Games. I always enjoy reading the chapters of this webtoon as I never know what to expect.

I think this isn't a popular opinion, but I can't enjoy this story at all. I also don't think Rashta is as bad as people say she is. If anything the Empress, if this was real life, would be the villain.
I started thinking this way when Rashta's origins were revealed and the characters reactions were appalling to say the least. No one was shocked or disgusted by the fact that slavery existed in their kingdom, not even the Empress our heroine, but instead saw it as an embarrassment for Rashta. How is her being a slave embarrassing, but not embarrassing for the Emperor or the
...
Empress that they allowed slavery in their kingdom. How quickly people turned Rashta's suffering into an insult was disgusting. How can I root for the Empress if her people are so awful. And if I'm to believe that the Empress doesn't see a problem with people owning slaves, as she's is pretty nonchalant about it, then I can't see her as a good person. And I can't blame Rashta for wanting to get out of that bad situation, even if it makes her a mistress.
The Empress even remarks and belittles Rashta for her lack of knowledge, which she knows is because Rashta was born a slave. That's extremely classist and elitist of her. In this era of 'tax the rich' I'm really surprised at this webtoon's popularity.
People may argue it's for realism that the Empress acts this way, but people turn into the birds in this webtoon. So magic is allowed to exist, but our Empress has to have old-fashioned classist views. Great thanks, I hate it here.

This story really reminds me of Usagi Drop, just for the way that the ending butchers my enjoyment fo the entire series.
Without going into to much of spoiler territory, though this is about the last arcs, I won't mention character's names. However, by the end of the manga, the amount of rape apologists themes and excuses is very insulting and disheartening. I can't tell you how I felt in the last arcs, as it was like a punch to the gut and to the heart. It was like a betrayal. If you are a victim of sexual abuse I would skip this story, at least
...
don't read the last few chapters as the things that are excused and accepted are just so disgusting. They even makes us go through why we should forgive the rapist, and the reasons they came up with are not good. It is very difficult to read.
Everyone deals with trauma differently, but this was dealt with no care and more consideration and sympathy for the rapist than the actual victim of the rape. I can't explain how disappointing this is. I don't know why the author inserted this in besides shock value, and that is very hurtful especially since I really enjoyed this manga for majority of the run.

I like this manga for everything. it subverts in stories revolving gay characters. However, at the parts in which the manga follows cliches of the genre is where I have some issues.
I personally really liked the art. I liked how distinct it was and how well it captured emotions. It wasn't anything new, but it was very good regardless. I also think that considering this manga is more character and plot driven, and less focused on epic panels or detailed character designs, I think it does a good job. I also like how the things that the characters remark as important are also drawn
...
dramatically so the audience can also see it for themselves. It's not just all talk, but also the medium of manga is used to enhance the story further.
The story, as I said, really surprised me when it subverted tropes of the genre. I'll try not to spoil by speaking vaguely, but will be spoiling some plot points, so I would skip this if you don't want to be spoiled, but also there are some triggering things in this manga which you should be aware if you are sensitive to certain topics. The things I enjoyed was the friendship between the two main characters and how they weren't forced into a relationship just because they have the same orientation. I also really enjoyed the exploration of each characters individual sexuality, and showed that not everyone's experience is the same and that gay people aren't a monolith.
One thing I'm really glad this manga doesn't normalise or romanticise is teacher student relationships, and older men preying on younger boys. It was always treated as creepy and never treated lightly. Even when we are meant to sympathise with the predator, it's never treated as something normal, but something that is morally wrong.
Two things I didn't quite enjoy was the representation of lesbians. Which in all honesty was a blink and you miss it moment, but it was distasteful especially considering the content of this story. The lesbian character was used to further prove that one of the main characters was definitely not interested in women. But the scene also enforced the idea that woman 'turn' lesbian after a bad sexual experience with a man, and as we know isn't true and a harmful misconception. I know the author wasn't interested in this character more than just to make a few jokes and not to develop her as a character, therefore I feel like she could've been omitted all together. However, she appears so briefly hat it doesn't' really affect my enjoyment of the overall story.
I also didn't enjoy the reinforcement of the trope that men who're homophobic are actually gay themselves, but even more than that but the coupling of the bully with their victim. I do not enjoy this trope especially considering how relentless and how brutal the bully was willing to be to the victim, I didn't think they should've ended up together. It's a trope that is so prevalent, and is showed so often in queer stories. I just don't like the idea of not only forgiving the person who caused one so much suffering, but also awarding the abuse with love. However, this manga is bit old, and I can give it the benefit of the doubt that these conversations weren't being had at that time.

Story
The story is about understanding each other's and their own struggles, but it's also about growing up to your best potential. Even with that said, I think a lot of ways things were resolved were really unsatisfying. The author brought in some huge issues and struggles, and kind of gave a wishy washy solution, which I think not only shows how old the series is but also how shallow it also is. Though it did have pretty strong beginning and conclusion.
Art
The art had a bit of the same face syndrome, which I'm not only saying about the twins, but for most characters. This is especially
...
bad since a portion of the story is about insecurities with they way one looks, therefore this basic style hurt the story a lot. If the story wasn't so focused on how the characters looked then this wouldn't be an issue.
Characters
I was often very frustrated with some characters. Which isn't surprising from this author, who is prone to make characters do unnecessary or uncharacteristically mean things just for that extra drama. Oddly enough I wasn't mad at the main heroine, in fact most times I thought she was completely reasonable with her reactions, yet she was told that she was bizarre or condemned for her actions. The male lead had me frustrated a lot since he often repeated the same mistakes, and wouldn't understand why the female lead was worried.
Enjoyment
I did enjoy it, hence why I read it through. Some issues were dealt well with, and sometimes characters would work together and do what the others were too afraid of. It was really fun to see them use each other strengths together. Also I really liked some motifs in the manga, which definitely helped in the end.
Overall
Read it if you like drama, and are fun with some subpar romance. The main character is also really good, at least to me, she was fun to watch, but the other characters kind of fall flat.

I read this manga first a long time ago but stopped because of one big fault in the manga that to me reduced the enjoyment. It was the lack of consistency with the characters. I realized that in this story the main character would be jumping to different schools and also encountering with new people in each chapter with only one reoccurring character. I'm glad to have given this manga second chance because I was able to enjoy the interesting yet relatable situations, and also enjoy the characters that also seemed rather relatable.
For those who are looking for a romance, this has bare minimum amongst
...
the main characters. The main heroine ends up playing the role of cupid, more than she tries to forward her own romantic relationships, despite it being very close to her reach. Though if you want a heart warming friendship then this story is great for that. The sequel manga dives into romance more in depth, but I definitely don't recommend skipping this manga.
Incredibly funny and it's anything but boring. A bit unorthodox for a shoujo manga, but definitely worth appreciating and giving a look at.

I have to say that this story is epitome of average to me. It's not bad, but it's not good either. If it weren't for how short it was, I would've dropped it, and there was a part of me hoping it would redeem itself.
It was just embarrassingly predictable. I already knew hoe things would end because they followed the same manga formula that other manga of the same genre use. It didn't bring anything new or interesting. A story about a really strong girl fighting for justice and then a love triangle it's just not that special. Sure it's a good premise for a
...
guilty pleasure, but even then this story remains forgettable because of how lacking in personality it is.
Then there's the ending which doesn't feel like an ending at all for the manga. It's great for the first arc of the story, but it doesn't resolve anything that the manga discusses. The romance is left hanging, and she already has a resolution a few chapters before, therefore making this ending feel forced. And I am leinant to endings. I like endings even if some find them unsatisfying or unlikeable as long as it feels like a grand resolution. I just don't think the ending was strong enough to close the story.

The anime pales in comparison to the manga. I get it's because of time constraints, but it just a watered down version of the manga, but just the sheer fact that the anime got me to read the manga I would say it did a pretty good job. I feel as if the characters were really flushed out for a few episodes, while some other characters had to stay one-dimensional because there wasn't enough time, which is really unfair. Since one of the best things about this story is it's characters. The characters drive the plot and without them at their strongest consequently the story
...
won't be at it's best.
Still, I think this is one of the best shoujo animes because of the two protagonists and the way they handle their relationship. It's not the same possessiveness and won't say my feelings male lead, and the girl isn't clumsy or quirky. They feel realistic. the only part that is a bit unrealistic is it's premise, but everything else felt natural. I also like that the reason the guy is well liked in the school is because of his good-nature opposed to just being his looks even if he get's complimented a lot. I also like how the girl can stand up for herself and for her boyfriend without looking weak.

This is my favorite Shoujo romance manga of all. No competition at all. This has the best story and characters of any shoujo story I ever read, and I didn't expect much from it's cliche premise, but it went above and beyond. This took these very overused character tropes and made them something new, something worth reading.
The story
The best part of the story was that it didn't shy away from some difficult topics, and it remained very real through out the start to end. Especially looking into Megumi's arc which is bittersweet as you see her grow from her downfalls. The characters don't
...
need unnecessary outside angst, because they're dealing with their own emotions and learning on how to healthily share that with their loved ones. I also like how things aren't resolved just because of kindness or friendship, but because they work to try and resolve it and sometimes the characters don't get what they want, because that's how life works.
Characters.
The characters are arguably the best thing about this manga. Even the supporting cast is enjoyable and multi dimensional. That is very rare in a shoujo manga to have the mangaka actually care about the other characters. Each character grows and evolves as the story progresses. No character is just thrown into the story just to further help the main couples relationship, they also have a life worth reading about. The anime is very good, but this is one of things you'll miss out from only watching it and that's the amazing characters in it.
The art
The art is really good, and you see the mangaka get better through out the chapters. It's a really cool transition and fun detail to notice as you read the manga.
Enjoyment.
I don't know how I can eloquently express just how much I love this manga and how much I wish I could reread it with a fresh mind just so I can fall in love al over again.
Overall.
It's the best. I love it, and when I can I'm going to buy it physically each volume because I'm obsessed.
