I wont go againt the current opinion, the manga is trash compare to the anime or novel. If you've heard that Shinsekai yori is a great masterpiece and were looking to see it, it's not the good version go look for the anime or novel (both are great). However if you've allready seen one of the other 2 versions and like it, then you should consider trying the manga. There's a lot of flaw the more apparent being the yuri (sometime loli) echhi, sexuality is a one of the theme of the story indeed but while the other version did a good job at suggesting ... sex scene the manga just show them.
But the manga also has some good part, unfortunatly most of them are in the second half of the story, to give some exemple (attention spoiler) squealer using Human has meat shield, some fauna we didn't see before, human from other distric, and what i consider to be the best reason to read the manga we get to see the influence of a karma demon during a battle, which is really well done scene.
To conclude if you like the other version give the manga a try, because the second half has some good idea and devlopement for the world.

DO NOT READ THIS MANGA IF YOU HAVEN"T WATCHED THE ANIME OR READ THE NOVEL.

This manga in all honesty deserves a 3 or a 4, but I gave it a 6 because I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

This manga is a horrible adaptation of the Shinsekai Yori novel. Characters and events are drastically changed, even inserting and creating whole new ones. There is also A LOT of fanservice. The fanservice interrupts important parts of the story and undercuts several serious moments. They even make Saki a child predator in the manga. Its a poor adaptation and manages to turn an excellent ... story into nothing more than yuri fanservice. However, I still give this manga a 6 because of personal enjoyment. Having already seen the anime, and read a bit of the novel, I wasn't worried about spoilers nor did I come in expecting a masterful retelling of the story. I read the manga fully knowing it was a horrible adaptation. To be truthful, I read the manga because I heard about the fanservice and I was curious. It seriously delivers on that front and the and the art is really good. Probably the only saving grace of this manga is the wonderful art. I will also admit that it became better towards the end, and some of the emotional moments hit harder in the manga than in the anime in my opinion. Because of the fact I never took the manga seriously, I ended up enjoying it more than I thought. So in conclusion, if this is going to be your first exposure to this wonderful story, DO NOT READ THE MANGA FIRST, watch the anime or read the novel and THEN read the manga. And do not expect a good story. If you read this manga with the mindset that it will be bad and you're just here to see the art/fanservice then it will be more enjoyable.

To repeat myself again, in all actuality, this manga should be a 3 or 4, but because of my mindset and personal enjoyment I'm giving it a 6.

I've read the novel and saw the anime. When I found out the manga existed as well I was very happy but... How can I say it?

It's horrible. It is so bad I wish I never read it. The novel is dark, deep, it makes you think about life as a whole.
The anime is very similar to the novel, althought the animations are not always top tier it follows the story without changing anything.

And then there is the manga. Characters changed so much I can barely recognize them. The main protagonist wears bitchy chlotes almost all the time and the whole plot is blown away ... to introduce more yuri sex than needed.

In the original work sex is important to understand the society they created, in the manga it is just mere fanservice, a way to show some boobs when NOT NEEDED. And I like boobs.

Horrible.
