| Saku further probes Rintaro on the note and his relationship with Kaoruko, but Rintaro deliberately chooses not to tell him. At home, he regrets what he said. He texts Kaoruko to tell him that he passed all his subjects. The next day in school, there is noticeable tension between Saku and Rintaro. Saku shares with Shohei and Ayato that he thinks Rintaro does not trust them, and that he wants to support him however he can. Shohei acknowledges how cool Rintaro is, and Ayato interprets Rintaro's words as genuine, and that he would eventually share with them more. Back at Rintaro's family bakery, Kyoko doesn't believe him when he said he passed his exams. Kaoruko visits their store. Kaoruko visited the store to buy cake, in celebration of her exam results. She congratulates Rintaro for passing his midterms. Noticing that he seems slightly troubled, she tries to reassures him that eating food always solves the problem. After she left, he recognizes that his troubles had vanished. Kaoruko receives a text message from Subaru, to meet at the neighborhood park. Subaru admits that she had previously talked to Rintaro. Rintaro's Mother's words were reassuring for Sure.  |

| These guys really took offence because they found Rintarou knows a girl and is, most probably, talking with her lol. Or more like, it’s because of the fact that the girl is from Kikyo. But hey, it’s the guys, so they’d make up right? It’s just the start as well, I mean bit by bit, going forward, we’ll learn these four are genuinely good friends too. It is a waiting game yeah, but let’s be honest, two of the most awkward guys had an argument here, so stuff makes sense lol. All of this aside btw, can we just not appreciate how GREAT OF AN ASSIST mom is? We’re at the fifth episode and yeah, she has helped Rintarou and Kaoruko get closer, somehow.. some way, in every episode till now. Not believing her son could score decent enough marks was pretty tough though lmaooooo. Here it is finally though, Subaru coming clean. Glad it didn’t take time. |
| I love kaoruhana but you gotta admit it’s hilarious how Rintaro’s homies act like they found some mein kempf in his bag and he just had a good luck note from Kaoruko 😭 I love how extra everyone in this story is, they’re all my babies. Another really good episode, but next week is going to be on another level. It’s really sweet how Saku and Rintaro’s relationship is so similar to Subaru and Kaoruko. Rintaro helped Saku settle into Chidori and he just wants to repay that to Rintaro with friendship, but I understand it has to feel a little deflating for your best friend to hide stuff like that from you. Everyone has their reasons though and it doesn’t always mean someone doesn’t trust you or anything negative. Glad their other buddies cleared the air on that and helped cheer saku up. Really proud of Rintaro for doing so well on his exam! You can tell he’s actually a very smart young man, just doesn’t apply himself much and has some confidence issues which Kaoruko has already helped with. Speaking of which. I love how she’s arguably more excited about the sports festival than Rintaro is lmao. The shop visit is definitely my fave Kaoruko look so far, oh my goodness, she’s an angel. I love her sense of fashion so much. S/O Rintaro’s mom for being an amazing wingman, recognizing her was nervous and putting her and Kaoruko in a position to talk. Kaoruko being just as nervous as Rintaro is so cute too. The height difference for that high five oh my goodness, and their hand size difference 😭 that’s everything to me. I love them sm Obviously the Kaoruko x Rintaro stuff is great today, but the best part of this episode is hands down the look on Rintaro mom’s face when she found out he got a high score and all the work he’s put in lately. I love how close he is to his mom, it’s so sweet! Ahhh, next episode can’t come soon enough. We will be packing tissues. Can’t wait to see the big emotional payoff of this arc. I know Cloverworks will put on a show for us. |

| Today! Saturday! Waguri Day! The best day of the week! The best thing that happened in 2025! Before I comment on anything, I went out and bought some pastries a little while ago, and I decided to take some pictures from the 4th floor of the hospital—but I felt embarrassed since the patients were staring at me weirdly, so I snapped the shots quickly and ran away from work, hahahaha! Waguri > Work! Yes, Waguri is more important than work! (Don’t believe what I said… just kidding 😆)  If I had to name this episode with a single word, it would be Friendship! Yes! Because we saw Rintarou’s relationships with his friends, and Subaru’s relationship with Waguri! I won’t make this comment too long. As for the manga, this episode adapted Chapters 8 and 9. But there is one part from Chapter 13! | I just gotta start by saying I really hope we get clarification on where Rintaro's father is. Cause like its fine to be a only child but I swear anime have the most bs trope were in the most normal slice of life/Romance anime one of the parents just gotta be missing. Like dam bro I swear its every anime, we can never get both parents. Its probably because most authors are just too lazy to write up a proper family, of course some actually give good reasons for one of them not being there. Rintaro has great mother at least Idk mini rant aside this was a good episode. | As always, an amazing episode. Well, Rintarou's friends found out about who the girl was, they took a ton of offence from that, mostly Saku. Luckily, his two other friends are trying to cheer Saku up a little and hopefully they can make up 'cause well, they're guys, guys easily make up. Seeing Rintarou smile is one of the few things I really enjoy in this anime because its really rare to see him smile, seeing him smile feels good to me and I hope that continues throughout this anime. 5/5 |

| And the best mother award goes to..... Such a good character. But my biggest gripe with this series is getting worse though. Its on two polar opposites. One side is the most adorable thing you'll ever see, the other side is making drama at every possible moment from very little things. The major drama here came from someone knocking his desk and it flipping to the exact page for something to happen. Feels a bit forced and drama for the sake of drama. I do like that he wasnt upset over the Waguri thing but more that Rintaro didnt trust him but I hope we dont keep having constant drama like this. At least give us an episode break here and there. But from that ending cliffhanger it seems like its just gonna be one thing straight into the next. I hope its not gonna be her lying about what she talked about with Rintaro cause that'd just piss me off. Yeah dropping it down from a 9 to a 8 cause too much drama. Its already getting into the realm of not gonna re-watch it as much as I would have. Hopefully it picks back up. Also I think one major thing for me with this series is they better give REALLY good reasons as to why everyone hates each other. Like why the Kikiyo girls hate the boys on individual levels. (So whenever they introduce a villain they give them a reason why). Cause the hatred in this series is to the extreme of it needs a reason otherwise its unrealistic/annoying as hell. I can accept them having a distain if theres a reason. But yeah TLDR more cute stuff please. If the drama calms down in the second half then it'll be salvaged as a re-watchable series. |

Well, to be fair, the premise of there being bad blood between the two schools is lowkey over the top to begin Love Rintarou's mom, tho. Man, this is such a great watch. | This week episode belongs entirely to Rintaro's mother. If we ever have best anime moms thread or competition in the future she should be amongst top 3 for sure. Such good mother, pushing her son when she has to all while giving compassion as well. Truly a great character. Episodes 6 and 7 will be peak, especially the next one. |

| Rintarou’s mom is so funny, yet supportive at the same time. Love her! Can’t wait for his dad to show up too. Kaoru wanting to buy cakes, hoping to maybe catch an encounter with Rintarou <3. Glad she broke down his walls. He’s ready to talk to his friends again. |

| His mom is such an "understanding" mom "the counter is transparent you know ... oh look I have to go to the back to do work!" What a wing woman. She provides great comedy despite her feeling like a very real mom. all concerned, wanting to "help" her son. Hope the boys can talk and clear up the friend drama. I was pretty sure he wasn't mad at Rintaro because of Kaoru's school, but because Rintaro didn't confide in him, and I was right. I'd be mad too if I were his friend. |

| Thank goodness that the teacher appeared just in time, it is understandable that Saku was upset because Rintarou does not trust them at all, thank goodness there are Shouhei and Ayato to motivate Saku and to understand Rintarou. Haha, the okasan has been so bad.... But she clearly wasn't expecting it 😆 And awww, she wanted Rintarou to high-five her.... good thing he gave it to him! Well done, Kaoru: you made him laugh even if it was unintentional 😂. That dinner was worth it for Rintarou's good grades, even if his mother still didn't quite believe it, her words were precise to reassure him. At least she doesn't force him to know everything; he probably understands more than he lets on, just by how he acts. So it was Subaru who invited Kaoru to the park. And he'll tell her that he met Rintarou before, maybe he'll try to get Kaoru to meet him, but I doubt he'll trick her with anything as it would destroy Subaru's character. |

| I'm sorry I couldn't take the 1st half seriously. They looked like they saw Rintarou hiding a gay porn! XD Obviously, it's something very important as portrayed later on. On the other hand, The mother-son dinner talk almost made me tear up. Another lovely EP. 5/5! |
Rintaro has plenty of quality friends, by the way, he's carrying a top-level heater (it's his own mother), but if he hadn't been given a push, he wouldn't have dared hahaha.  |

| Great ep Happy to see that they toned down the cringe moment of him taking the notebook. Rintaro got some great friends, but he needs to get out of his shell to get closer to them. His mom is such a great wingman/troll and Kaoruko is so real for trying to cheer him up. Loving how his mother is such a anchor in his life, simply beautiful to see. Looks like the talk is next ep, got sum stuff to say about the adaptation this far. First, the pacing is atrocious. Ion kno why they are doing this, but they HAVE to speed up. This ep adapted ch 8-9 and around half of 13. Apparently, there's a panel from 22 as well. I can understand why ch13 was put in bc it would work with the continuity of the story, but I'm seeing bisque doll adapt 5 ch in one ep, like ik kaoru hana is dialogue heavy, but the staff can definitely do better imo. Tho they are the staff so I trust that they know what they are doing and won't pull a "horimiya". 9.5/10  |

| i would say, by far the best aspect of this show is Rintarou's mom. even my favorite character so far is Rintarou's mom. the existence of Rintarou's mom makes this show more than just a vanilla cute lil bit of drama romance anime. i'm still waiting for where Rintarou's dad is, will he be introduced quickly or will it still take a while? of the many conversation scenes, Rintarou's conversation scene with his mother is the most memorable so far. my expectation from the cliffhanger of episode 4 is that Rintarou and Saku will have a deep conversation but apparently in this episode it didn't happen and it's still dragging into next week, I just hope that small dramas like this will finish well and not be prolonged. I still need an explanation why students from Chikyo and Chidori Schools are hostile. Speaking of this episode's cliffhanger, I just hope Subaru doesn't lie about how her conversation with Rintarou went, but even if that happens I already know that Kaoruko definitely knows that Subaru is lying. |
