Kaho getting some screen time! Even though she hasn't been the spotlight in this anime yet, I think her relationship with Renako is kinda cute.

The main pair is still Renako and Mai though. And we got some swimsuit fan service this time too. Another kiss also came with that so better get used to it every episode.

Aww, Ajisai wanted to kiss Renako. They really would make a great couple. <3

I think I also could ship Renako with Kaho. She's such a cute girl. :3

Anyway, I really wish for Renako and Mai to stay on good terms. <3

Mai can be stubborn when it comes to love but she is also stubborn accepting advances it seems.
Renako is still playing hard to get but her defences are getting thin.

The reaction of the little sister was funny.
Satsuki knowing everything was a bit of a surprise i suspected she knew something but not everything.
I guess there might be some rivalry.
Ajisai thought she was getting confessed to and it seems she is open to that kind of relationship so we might see more of that i the future.

Well boy oh boy this episode quite literally proved everything I thought after episode 3. Rena had started liking Mai during the bath scene in the earlier episode because no one in their right mind would let someone kiss them that they don't like twice. BOY I DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING.

Putting that aside it literally went how I predicted Mai felt bad because she actually hurt Rena and tries pushing herself away from Rena while Rena manages to somewhat sort her feelings out for Mai leading them back together in a somewhat more stable version of the first relationship they had now they understand eachother. Since this whole situation stemmed from Rena being unable to sort her feelings out or push Mai away because she clearly likes her.

And one of her biggest concerns being her sister as it turns out she completely supports her, so that's already one worry off her.

Like when you pair up a overthinker with someone like Mai it makes sense this would happen. But they managed to reconcile as I thought they would. They were both at fault and manged to properly sort out their relationship here and compromise. Which is great.

Other than that the nice to get some more of the other cast this episode. Though I mainly just liked seeing Ajisai's misunderstanding with Rena in the classroom, it was really cute and funny.

Great episode.

Couldn’t ask for a better end to Mai and Renako’s first arc here. Last week’s key word was “consent” and I love that the author didn’t shy away from highlighting Mai’s actions as wrong. She’s not a bad person, but she did a bad thing and didn’t respect Renako’s boundaries or autonomy. We all make mistakes, though and what’s important is that we learn from it which I’m confident she did. This also helped Renako clarify her own feelings and now the story can really get going!

The way we all expected some drama with Renako little sister just for her to be the biggest girl shipper and Mai’s biggest fan is killing me 😭 her only problem is she didn’t get to see more.

S/O to Satuki for being the MVP of the episode and giving Renako the courage to go talk to Mai and set things right, even if, by all rights, Mai should’ve been the one apologizing to Renako. Satuki clearly cares a lot about her rival even if she won’t say it.

Renako accidentally confessing to Ajisai while on the way to see her other GF Mai is CRAZY this girl is a player. Not Ajisai poking her lips out for the kiss too omg. I swear she’s had like 15 mins combined screentime across these first 4 eps and been the best part of the show, I love her sm.

Most people get rejected and go cry in their room, Mai throws a whole ass suitor party to find her rebound lmaoo. Renako casually pulling yet another gf on the way to seeing Mai 😂 Kaho is so cute, looking forward to seeing more of her eventually

Our main event this week is Renako and Mai’s make up scene. The importance of this scene is it’s the first time Renako CHOOSES and consents to Mai switching into gf mode, which makes the kiss they share that much more powerful. The only thing I didn’t like here was Renako apologizing for the slap. She was totally valid for slapping Mai and it’s important to stress there’s consequences for crossing boundaries, but whatever.

Not them aura farming with an underwater kiss lmao lesbians are so extra, but my fave scene in the show so far. Very beautiful moment and milestone for Renako and Mai. The ending is so good too. I like how Renako didn’t jump straight into a relationship because she still doesn’t really understand what dating someone entails, but she’s honest with Mai about her feelings and they agree to move forward with this new unique relationship. Can’t ask for a better ending there. Communication is key!

Awesome episode. Books finally arrived too so I can start reading

Still not sure I feel this, even in anime form. While the adjustments to the previous episode in making the scene more tame do a bit to elevate this resolution, I still find the way the structure of the narrative putting the onus on Renako to apologize to & fully make up with Mai in order to resolve the conflict when, quite frankly, Mai is most of the problem still just doesn't leave a great taste in my mouth. I get what the series is going for, but it just doesn't land for me and ultimately comes across as just icky and poorly-considered altogether, and it very much solidifies why this arc is the weakest part of the series by far in my eyes.

Also, "Rena-friends" is way worse than "Friends with Renafits", L localization

On the brighter side, love seeing more of my girl Satsuki, and the Ajisai scene is fun in retrospect as

This show ends up struggling way too much because of its main characters; Mai only knows how to do everything in extreme because she is so used to getting what she wants whereas conversely, Renako isn’t being honest with anyone or herself and is doing more harm than good

Renako's little sister is amusing, Satsuki might like Mai, Kaho definitely likes Mai (although for very superficial reasons it seems), Renako accidentally makes Ajisai falls for her haha.
Mai is basically an emotional mess, and is making bad decisions, which pushes Renako to finally be a bit more honest and to admit that there is a romantic component in her feelings for Mai. The end of the episode makes it seems that they are taking a step forward with the 'rema-friends' thing, but not really as Mai is making it clear that the 'fight' continues and we're kinda back to square one after all.
Gorgeous animation when Mai and Renako kiss underwater.

Banger episode as always. Renako accidently proposing to Ajisai was crazy, Ajisai looked READY for the kiss.. I guess Mai's method of manipulation worked on her a little too well, haha.

Also seeing every girl getting some screentime this episode was great.

Renako's so sweet. She apologized even if it was Mai who was supposed to, and the whole scene in that pool was so heartwarming. I'm happy the two made up, and they didn't drag the whole situation out. 5/5, honestly peak yuri

the first half was very hectic. why did satsuki talking sound like it was fast forwarded?
mai was being very frustratingly stupid. what is a "suitors party"? if it is anything like what i think it might be, then mai is even more stupid.

dumb episode, hated that.

The conversations between the characters are so fast.. it's like I'm watching in 1.5x speed. Not that I hate it though.
I kinda expected Renako's sis to be so glad about Renako and Mai being a thing. However Renako was able to get close to Satsuki 'cause of what happened between Mai and Renako and Renako is getting close with Kaho, Ajisai(but not in the way she's expecting lol) as well. Good for her. Why is there an old man and young kids at The suitors party for Mai !? 😭😭
For the first time Renako took the initiative to kiss..sweet 😘❤️
And now she wants Mai and her to be more than Friends but not lovers. She's clearly being stubborn 😅😅

A very pro episode?!?!?!?!?!??!!?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

We need more Renako and Ajisai moments. The confession was great but what would've made it even better is that they kissed, would've been the best episode of the whole series, probably. Really glad that Renako and Mai made up in the end. Are we gonna be getting kisses every episode or something?

Man, I hope that’s not true (though I did feel like this might be the case).

Also, did Rentaro Aijo catch a stray this episode?! What he do—he living his best life with his harem while our resident disaster lesbian can’t make a choice on how to love someone, but to still has the nerve to try and create a harem anyway. I’ll keep watching this for now, but if the progress stops/stalls for too long I will drop this.

A suitor party? Really? Mai just doesn't react to things in a way that any normal person would, right? 😂

Renako really had to put in a lot of leg work to fix things here. It's hard not to feel sorry for her but then again, Mai is the one who's consistently putting her honest feelings out there just to get knocked back while Renako can't. It's the best kind of frustrating to watch.

I agree, and I also felt bad for Renako being forced to run around and try to make up with Mai, because of course she isn't going to want to see Mai self-destruct. For me, the crux of the matter was that before Renako walked in at the pool, Mai was saying something like "this is the only way to make things right," and then when Renako (her victim) tells her what she wants—an apology and to stop the matchmaking party—Mai flatly refused to listen. Renako has to be the one to bend and assure Mai just to get her to stop from doing the thing that Mai was supposedly doing for her benefit (but which was really just to show the world how much of a victim Mai thinks she herself is).

All that said, I actually don't hate these contradictory and somewhat toxic interactions. That's often the way relationships happen, especially for young people without the experience to recognize these unhealthy patterns. And I don't think their future is doomed, either, even with Mai never once showing me she actually cares about Renako's true feelings. There's plenty of time in the future for Mai to see Renako as someone outside of the ideal she imagines or wishes she is.

Mai and Renako are finally getting closer now that Renako openly admited to have feelings for her instead of just pretending that she likes Mai only as a friend, which clearly was never the case. Now the challenge is on a whole new level with much more time until one of them wins. Things are about to get more interesting. I loved how the conciliation between them happened, that was an emotional and sweet dialogue that they had. And what a beautiful kiss under water, such a wonderful moment.

Ajisai is obviously failling in love with Renako, that also has a crush on her. I am very curious to see how their relationship will develop through the course of the series. I love this anime so much.
Very spicy and emotional at the same time.

Heh, Haruna thinks her sister is winning, but Renako is not so sure. However talking to Satsuki reassures her that Mai is also upset she pushed Renako too far. Ajisai asks if she wants to go out, but she has to turn her down and accidently sends the wrong message XD
The suitors party was over the top and Renako makes it known in no uncertain terms that her and Mai are not over. Not lovers, not yet, but more than just friends ;)

At this point, I have a faint hope that the series will try to make this very "arc-focused" and will try to basically just sweep the whole Mai thing under the rug and continue onto the "other routes"
It would still leave a bad taste in my mouth with all the bullshit around Mai, but it would unironically be better if the story just begun treating Mai like it treated most of the other girls during episodes 1-3 - "Oh, yeah and she's also there, doing some stuff, I guess"

So far, I truly believe (since so far there weren't any real hints towards it being otherwise) that all the other girls have the chance to be just... normal, comparatively. And that'd be great then. The only problem at that point could be Renako herself, "corrupted" by her experiences with Mai, becoming the problematic creepy weirdo in turn towards the other girls. On one hand, it would be nice if she just stayed 'normal', but that would really feel like the series would've absolutely just forgotten the whole Mai arc then, and that would just be weird... although still preferable in a way.

Hold up, did Renako just confess to Ajisai while on her way to reconcile with Mai?! Kidding aside, Ajisai misunderstood Renako but Renako isn't exactly great at communicating what she thinks so hopefully Ajisai will be fine just being friends. Also, it was a bit surprising that Renako's sister was actually excited to find out that her sister is dating Mai as I thought she got traumatized lol.

I'm a bit conflicted on this episode. At the end, I realized that we were going to be following a really toxic relationship going forward. First of all, Mai never apologized for her actions from last episode, which quite frankly most people wouldn't even forgive. She just kept on saying that she hurt Renako and designed an elaborate out without even talking about how the hurt person feels. In the end, Renako ended up apologizing to Mai and pulling her back up even though it should have been the other way around. She is just as, if not even more narcissistic and self-centered at the end of this episode than before.

What really surprised me was Renako because she was not much better this episode either. Crashing at the suitor's party, working so hard to get it called off, kissing and finally straight up confessing to Mai that she loves her, all of this should have built up to a relationship. But Renako wants all the upsides and advantages of being in a relationship with Mai without all the baggage and responsibilities of being in one. Her 'compromise' at the end leaves her with all the power in their new relationship, with Mai left stringing along after her while Renako can choose when and how much 'friends' and 'lovers' they are. Instead of committing to one, she selfishly wants both for herself. And after what happened with Ajisai this episode, and assuming this turns up as a full blown harem with all the other girls, this gives her an excuse to cheat all she wants under the reasoning that Mai and her are technically not in a relationship.

Even though I wrote that whole block of text, I really liked this episode. I love it when we have flawed characters in the lead. What scares me is that I don't know if the show itself will treat these characters as flawed or not. My thoughts on this show will change wildly depending on if they decide to explore these flaws in the future or not.

Another smaller point of contention I have is that I assumed that this show would become a full blown harem after the Ajisai scene. But the ending of this episode makes it very clear that Renako and Mai are the endgame couple. The main joy of a harem is picking sides and wondering who wins in the end, but I'm not sure how the anime would allow that when it seems so obvious who is going to win. I guess I will see how it tackles that in the future episodes.

Given Renako knows she's in love with Mai but the neuron hasn't fully fired so she kinda still just wants to be friends, the obvious next step is for a similar relationship to develop with Ajisai (and 10/10 communicator Renako has already sown the seeds). I can't really envision a way this season will end well, but I look forward to seeing what happens.

it's not Ai generate, i would say they use some times 3d models and draw on them or something like that. And often they use simple shapes of anime hands. That's my Opinion as an artist.^^

Two yuri love confessions in one episode!

Well not exactly love, but thats not so important

First of all i will say that Renako has a good sister: she doesnt seem to mind that her sister dates girls

And damn i really liked that confession scene with Ajisai.

Ajisai is so cute and gentle, she is my favorite girl in this anime!

And she was so ready for the yuri kiss, but...

And btw lets not forget that Ajisai confessed in response, despite the fact that she took this confession for love!

That means something fr

Well and that scene at the end, yes, it was beautiful.

Yuri is a real art, of all anime genres i would say that yuri is the most sublime and aristocratic, for true connoisseurs.

Swimsuits, pool and yuri kisses... It was beautiful.

Also i already wrote about all the shortcomings of this anime in previous comments so i will not repeat myself.

P.S.

Mai's way of atoning for her mistake is so unhinged lol. Can't believe she was about to host a suitor's party.

Instead of making things awkward, the sister actually was excited about their relationship. I'm glad that Mai and Renako made up, but I just feel bad for Ajisai being caught in the crossfire. Her reaction was cute, but she misunderstood Renako's words and even went for a kiss lol.

So they did gloss over the fact that Mai assaulted Renako.. I really hated how they handled it, sure Mai felt guilty but they never actually had her apologise to Renako, instead having Renako be the one to apologise. Weird, gross. It's still an alright show, I'm having a good time watching it I think? But I don't know yet if I'm going to keep watching.

God this frame is beautiful

Seriously, I can't even take this seriously after the bullshit Mai pulled, what do you mean she called for a suitors party or something lol. Anyways, Renako admitted that she does like Mai romantically, but doesn't want to commit to being lovers, so they can just be friends with benefits? Renako you're a sinful woman.
