Not sure but they were going to be absent regardless so it was inevitable imo

No, if anything it was much better without them. First season of this thing I didn't want to gouge my eyes out and puncture my eardrums once.

If something hurt this season in particular it was the villains. They didn't have much going on. Just barely despicable enough to stand out, their abilities weren't impressive, and they were already getting mocked by their boss from the moment they were introduced.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

only thing that hurt the season was the INTENSITY of the BATTLE
just compare it with MUGEN TRAIN and ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT

better HASHIRA
better UPPER MOONS
INTENSITY WAS REAL HIGH
FIGHTS WAS REALLY THE BEST FIGHTS IN ANIME HISTORY (ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT specially)

It's not so much the absence of Zenitsu and Inosuke, but their replacement characters for this arc being much less entertaining

And the much worse antagonists for this arc
If your favourite character is Tsutsukakushi Tsukiko, you are my soul mate.

Been a long time since I've been here, I'll continue expressing myself freely and believe everyone should too.

No the boring fights boring villians who were made out to be a joke made it worse. If anything their presence would hurt it because they would just be that easier to beat with the extra help.

The only thing that hurt this season is the shitty comedy, the crappy story, the crappy villains, and the meh new characters, the Mist Hashira is meh, and the Love Hashira... well, I expected better.

The Upper-Moons were really crappy in this boring arc, the Sun was a better villain and this happened in the last episode, that's how uninteresting these Upper-Moons were.

BTW, as a Zenitsu hater like myself, I don't give a crap about that character, he can simply die for all I care, but that mother fucker simply got replaced by other annoying characters so nothing really changed in this aspect, the comedy is as shitty and cringy as always.

Zenitsu? Maybe

Inosuke? Definitely. He carried the comedy aspect in previous seasons.

For inosuke, it did.

For zenitsu, my soul actually got healed.

I'd say the trade was even.

I personally like Zenitsu and Inosuke a lot but I don't think their absence necessarily hurt this season, the new characters were poorly written, the overall story development was mostly mediocre and they used quite a bit of cgi while animation quality dropped a bit. That's what hurt this season in my opinion. My Score: 8/10

no

they are very 1 dimensional characters and pretty tropey. I don't really find them particularly funny so the comic relief is largely lost on me, so tbh I'm happy if they're busy doing their own thing.

I like them as characters and stuff. But i don’t think them being on the third season would had made it better.

I feel like what hurt this season was it’s pacing. Gyoko vs Muichiro lasted not even 5 minutes if you ignored flashbacks and pausing mid-fight for Muichiro thinking to himself. This fight takes place over episodes 5, 7, 8, and 9. In 4 episodes with a total of roughly 81 minutes (20 minutes+odd seconds), which equates to roughly 6.17% of actual fight. Tanjiro and Muichiro vs Hantengu alone was around 7 minutes, let alone when it was Tanjiro+Genya+Nezuko+Mitsuri vs Hantengu. And while you could argue that shows Muichiro’s prowess as a Demon Slayer, you don’t need to pad 75 minutes of runtime with flashbacks that have no significance. I’ve seen flashbacks and exposition handled better in High School DxD and those ones don’t interrupt important fight scenes. At least have them happen before or after the fight. Though this criticism could be made for all of Demon Slayer (though arguably not entertainment district arc since the majority is one long fight or the buildup rather than majority flashbacks. Zenitsu and Inosuke being MIA this season didn’t really have much of an impact since they’re less fleshed out than Tanjiro, if anything included them means that more flashback time could be allocated to them since fights would be shorter.

Not really. Inosuke would totally steal the spotlight.
And both him and Zenitsu will have an opportunity to shine later on.

I think there was a lack of comedy relief a bit but no, it didn’t largely effect the season

It made it better even though the season was pretty bad already. Don't want to hear them screaming every few minutes for no reason.

That's one of the only things I really appreciated about this season lol. If those two were there, this would be one of the worst anime this year with their obnoxious comedy scenes.

No, the two most annoying characters in the show being taken out of the show for a season really helped.

Agree. His constant screaming and general patheticness has detracted from my enjoyment of the show in other seasons.
The studio didn't pull out all the stops like did other seasons. They held back with the animation in my opinion and a lot of Demon Slayer's success is due to the killer visuals.

no it made it better imo. The villians were terrible compared to last season but the hashira and other characters they introduced served as a refreshing replacement for those 2 annoying mcs.
