The official website of the Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou deshita? (Am I Actually the Strongest?) television anime series revealed on Monday five additional cast members and the first promotional video. The anime is scheduled to broadcast in July 2023 on ABC TV and TV Asahi's 24 affiliated stations on the ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block. Cast Liza: Wakana Kuramochi (Kinsou no Vermeil) Laius: Shinnosuke Tachibana (Kamisama Hajimemashita) Marianne: Manaka Iwami (Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei) Irisphilia: Ami Koshimizu (Edomae Elf) Tear: Misaki Kuno (Made in Abyss: Retsujitsu no Ougonkyou) Takashi Naoya (Kinsou no Vermeil) helms the anime at Staple Entertainment. Tatsuya Takahashi (Kenja no Mago) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Shouko Yasuda (Happy Sugar Life) is designing the characters. The anime adapts Sai Sumimori's adventure fantasy light novel, which began on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2018. Kodansha began releasing the series under its K Ranobe Books label in May 2019, featuring illustrations by Ai Takahashi. The fifth volume shipped in October 2021. Takahashi began drawing a manga adaptation on the Suiyoubi no Sirius web magazine in April 2019. Kodansha published the eighth volume on February 9. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English for digital release in September 2020 and the light novel in March 2022. The seventh manga volume went on sale on February 28. The second novel volume released on April 25, with the third volume scheduled to release on July 25. PV Source: Comic Natalie |

I don't understand why this is getting an anime. Started release in 2018 has 4 light novel volumes and hasn't had a release since Jan 2021. Almost 2.5 years between releases isn't a good sign. |

If it wasn't a successful enough light novel to justify continuing it then it probably won't be a successful anime.stone616 said: because the industry rarely wants to take risks anymoreI don't understand why this is getting an anime. OK I was wrong. There's a 5th light novel volume that came out in October 2021. That's the last one released. Apparently there's a manga for this as well that's still being released as of 2023 though so maybe that's why. https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/aw/d/B09FJTBN44?ref_=dbs_m_nmg_wam_calw_tkin_4&storeType=ebooks |

EcchiGodMamster said: You can be salty and touchy all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that the more you try to justify your tastes and make them supposedly rational, the more pathetic and stupid it looks. It's been a long time since I've seen anything more pathetic and ludicrous than a fan of the most commercial and mainstream anime complaining that the industry is supposedly afraid to be original and risqué just because it doesn't make the type of commercial gum and food that he wants.RobertBobert said: EcchiGodMamster said: stone616 said: because the industry rarely wants to take risks anymoreI don't understand why this is getting an anime. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you don't intentionally or not try to justify them by complaining that the industry doesn't satisfy them. |

EdgyLord666 said: The key issue is that most people judge anime trends by what is popular and discussed in western fandom. Or even their audience, I still see people who sincerely believe that CGDCT and gacha games are aimed at a female audience. Or remembering shows like Haikyuu that shows like this have an all-male cast because they're supposedly all about girls.stone616 said: That's better than Eminence, has 3 LNs from 2018 - 2019, never released another till the anime announced.I don't understand why this is getting an anime. Piromysl said: Ah, are you talking about this? Well, that can be said for most of the overly popular genres, so I got used to it even before isekai became a thing. For example, I still remember the maximum peak of CGDCT and harems (a real peak, not today's yuri fans complaining about every show where girls are interested in a guy and not in each other), and I just stopped responding to everything that is too weak even for my taste. Secondly, I'm just used to ignoring things that do not concern me in any way. If this does not concern me for some reason, then I simply will not even open news or discussions about it. For what? I've always found people annoying who create problems for themselves and then complain about them.RobertBobert said: Piromysl said: RobertBobert said: Will you complain under every post with an announcement or news about isekais? This is why I don't come here that much anymore, Also, there was also the battle harem trend and how many "Infinite Stratos" clones they were. Isekai is just the internet hate punching bag and when something replace that they'll hate that trend. That said, I'm more tired of the complaints than I am with Isekai themselves, and I don't believe them cause I know they are gonna watch it anyway and they be surprised that it was bad. I don't bother with most isekais anymore unless I know I'm gonna like it or I read it's source material and liked it. |

GalacticMagna said: Well, I can still relatively understand when things are really over-popular. But when people start whining about things simply out of personal animosity rather than any real situation, I can hardly contain myself. For example, when people continue to complain about harems because of their bias towards male-focused romantic shows, even at a time when the harem is almost extinct and could well be considered nostalgic. Or when people start to demonize shonen or shoujo because of their dislike of teen or girl anime.RobertBobert said: Piromysl said: RobertBobert said: Piromysl said: What do you have in mind? Got an anime and still hasn't gotten another volume. It also has a manga adaptation that's still getting released. I can't speak to where the plot got to in the ln vs the manga but the original story of both of these was a novel posted online turned to a ln. |
