I think the main reason for this is the huge increase of anime watchers in the past 2 or 3 years across the world. Now we all know how people are when they first start watching anime. They don't see it as just another media for entertainment rather they treat it as something above that🤣. Plus this community is already crowded with so many elites😄 So you can imagine what will happen when these two breeds collide with each other

Ok OP, criticisms as a whole just stop existing because you said so.

A tradition that's ensured that standards for writing wouldn't drop, and so mmay other reasons. Something that's been going on for dozens of decades now just stop, because weebs couldn't handle their cartoons being called cringe and shit.

Reminds me of another new relevation that anime philosopers came up with to excuse their anime - that media is all subjective.

Just watch stuff for fun if you want, no one is stopping that. But why do you think pointing out the flaws will hinder your enjoyment? Do you just want everything to be called and regarded perfect?

Not all anime watchers are toxic, it's just some of the community are toxic.
It's hard to debate with toxic anime watchers that has a dumb mindset and like to compare other people taste, it's just waste of time to argue with them.
Of course, you can say some critiques to someone's favourite anime, but don't give shits and saying hate towards to them.
I heard from someone from the internet said that they have a friend who rating most of animes are under 5 stars, they haven't even watched it yet, and said "I don't want my favourite anime lose to other animes." Like wtf? I'm very confused. I want to say many words to them but I don't know where to start.

Because monkey see, monkey do. The reason why we behave more amicably in real life is because there's merit to behaving ourselves. In the anime community on the other hand we don't get brownie points for being nice, and we see all the other people being absolute pieces of shit and most people will come to the conclusion that the extra effort being civil requires isn't worth it if they won't be rewarded for it. Hell, you were even rewarded for being an asshole like a decade ago, if you were an arrogant dick throwing around things like "objective opinions" and whatever other disagreeable shit, people would actually look up to you because of the show of confidence, so toxicity got rooted into the culture.
