From what I saw romance isn’t really the focus on the beginning of this story but I would like to know if we actually get romantic developments from the main characters later on. Fell free to spoil me.

Romance portion doesn't start until ch305-ish in the manga so unless they go Horimiya, you're not going to get much romance.

But do they actually go dating as boyfriend and girlfriend or is all platonic with little hits? I have no problem with it being later on because if I love this I can start reading the manga from where the anime stopped.

Are they become a couple? Yes. But if this series follow other Slice of Life manga, which is adapt around 50-80 chapters into 12 or 13 episodes, you will have to wait 4-6 years. If luckier, 100-160 chapters into 24-26 episodes, you will have to wait 2-3 years. Because the romance only happen in chapter 300 and they officially dating at chapter 306.

Yeah, I get it. But I also heard there are many chapters people don’t really liked later on so I imagine they’ll adapt almost everything from the beginning and skip some chapters later on. We almost definitely won’t see any romantic development in the first season for sure with what you are saying but I have no problem waiting or even reading the manga from where the first season ends. Just wanted to know if we would get any romance so I wouldn’t get my hopes up if we didn’t.

Yes, we do get romance later on, in the form of a love triangle that is dragged out for way too long (this is where the ‘no plot progression’ meme comes from), and confessions around Chapter 300. However, you’re not going to see any of this in Season 1 of the anime

At least we know the main couple ship has sailed (see the example of Rent a Girlfriend where we have romance since the beginning and still no confession lol). I guess if we get more seasons they’ll probably speed up in those parts where people thought there was no plot progression (the manga is pretty big so I guess adapting all the chapters looks nearly impossible).

There is romance later on, between other characters and the main.

Yes! It’s on volume 19 I think. I just bought the first 3 english volumes and so far they have released 13 volumes in english and volumes 14 and 15 are about to be released (I just saw it on Amazon)

The chapters are pretty short so if we are lucky we will see the romance action in 2-3 years but as all the other guys said. there will be no romance in the first season.

You get shitty love triangle that goes for too long and ruins the manga.

Agreed. I would not be sad if it never gets a second season, since until a few number of chapters ago when the plot finally moved on, this triangle ruined their second year of school, which is like the material for a second season.

1st year of school is still the best of Komi-san (with the best characters as well)

What the fuck is wrong with you? There nothing good about their 2nd year of high school. Flanderization of characters, character design regression, shitty new characters, terrible love triangle, Kometani boxes explaining everything without a need.

I feel the same, if the author really wanted to make a pure love story he should have finished Komi and start a new manga and not turn the existing manga on its head.

There are some romantic reactions but nothing definitive until way later on in the series.

I guess it depends on your taste. I started reading and am now reading the new chapters weekly and I got say I also preferred the 2n year. Also, the love triangle wasn’t a problem for me as both girls were actually helping each other and were pretty honest about their feelings. Seeing Komi win the love triangle was amazing and now the manga is on a great moment.

No, it was awful, Tadano got his character assassinated.

Well, that’s just your opinion lmao. Many people are still enjoying the manga and the 2nd year. A shame you couldn’t like it but who cares lmao.

There is nothing to enjoy, everything feels forced and artificial.
