Back before I read the last section of the manga the anime ended on, I was so hyped for this season. S4p1 had me so hyped for what would happen next. But now that I'm done the manga, I just feel nothing. It was a good ending, but the journey to get there was just NOT it. Everything after the stuff at the
was significantly less unique than the stuff immediately before (which was AMAZING stuff).

So now I'm worried if we'll have another wave of "Attack on Titan was bad all along" people like when chapter 139 dropped. It's a great story, that makes quite a few mistakes, but at the end of the day it started and ended strong. ...Also there's the people who will call it fascist, but I'm pretty sure that's been debunked by actual antifascists.

Here are my full thoughts on the ending, if you're fine with knowing what happens, and seeing how other people reacted to the last part.

Not necessarily terrified, but I wouldn't be surprised if the reception it gets is lukewarm.

I am just going to be there laughing lmao. It will be something for sure.

Though I do genuinely think that it won't happen that people will react badly. I mean, the manga fans and the anime fans are two completely different sides lol. Manga fans looking too deep into things coming up with stuff like AnR theory which most anime fans probably haven't heard of. Also some inside jokes I don't even know most of myself, not like anyone will get

But yeah, should be fine. Though I doubt it will happen, there are also people who are causal watchers who enjoy literally everything.

Nice to hear honestly, I'm getting sorta sick and tired of hearing people complain about AoT. Like yeah, they have the right to and knowing what you dislike in media is a good skill that enhances the discussion, but it's just too much at a certain point. especially when people argue with false info.

i think the reaction gonna be just like Shokugeki’s BLUE arc, where theres gonna be people that will still like it despite the source material ending on a whimper but most wouldnt notice it. only difference is that the reception will be bit louder since AOT is alot more popular. i give the reaction 65% positive just because its AOT alone

I don't think the ending is going to be anywhere near as badly received as the manga was.

The vast majority of manga readesr were likely hardcore fans of the series that were heavily invested in how the ending panned out, had stuck with the show religiously for 12 years, and because of that, it hurt a lot more for them.

I'd say most of the anime and mainstream community that will be watching S4P2 will just be casuals, who likely won't be as vociferous in their hatred of the ending because they were never that heavily invested in it to begin with anyway.

even if people have a bad reaction to the ending I think the fandom will defend the anime just like the sao fandom did and besides there has been a terrible reaction already by some manga readers
Tokyo ghoul is a great manga with a trash anime adaptation

It’ll be sad to see hate but yh AOT and by extent Isayama isn’t a god, he can do wrong (even tho i personally don’t think he messed up the end)

But yh, season 3 P2 is gonna be remembered as the greatest season of AOT, but I’m sure Part 2 of season 4 is gonna deliver some of AOT’s best episodes like 119,121, 131

I personally have no major problems with the ending. Haters are gonna make noise anyways but i don’t care as long as I love the show. I also think the reaction of the anime watchers wouldn’t be like manga readers. Most of the people are gonna love it and it would be emotional to see the journey come to an end after this long. Also, if the animation is good and the show manages to climb up the ratings, some manga readers, other top rated anime fans(you know who) and ex-AOT fans are gonna create a drama by rating it 1/10.

I’m really looking forward to watching the last part so I hope I’m not disappointed. But all you can do is go into it with an open mind even if you read the manga perhaps it will look differently to you when it’s on screen . Also thanks for the spoiler tags much appreciated.

I am sorry to disappoint you but I am an anime only but I watch every episodes with every detail and try to analyze it as much as I can and after watching it I read the manga chapters adapted by the episode to know the things which were skipped over. I just don't read the manga ahead of the anime because I like SnK more in anime form than manga form. I am heavily invested in this series.

So its not true that anime onlies are not critical. I can't talk for everyone but atleast I am critical about SNK and my other fav. series.

ok Time Traveller. How it is compared to 3P2 is reliant on how well they adapt the manga. The reason S3P2 was so well received is because it had both the great story of the emanga, but also none of the cuts and reshuffling of season 2 and 3 part 1.

Or do you mean because S4P2 will also start with a

no one has the energy for that, didn't you guys notice the disappearance of eren forum and profile pics? fate ubw produced more discussion on mal when it aired compared to FS and this FSP2 will be less discussed because of the salty manga readers.

No clue but it would be a funny sight to witness from the sidelines. As long as no death threats are involved.

Same here, I have a feeling that there will be certain people that will hate MAPPA for adapting the original ending and not creating an anime original ending that's similar to AoT no Requiem

I think the overall reaction isn't going to be bad, but also not as good as the former seasons. I consider myself more of a casual fan and only read the final chapters after I found out that AOT ended. I'd say, while almost everything before the ending made me go ''this is good'' the ending made me go ''oh, okay. this is fine.'' You'll 100% have a lot of discussions about the ending, simply because it was such a big series with a huge fanbase all across the world. So you're bound to read comments from people who think the ending was bad or who think it was great, regardless of what kind of fan they were. It's inevitable. That's why you shouldn't be worried about something that's bound to happen and just take the ending as you please.
...At least let me finish.

I hope they don't change the ending. It's just disrespect to the source material. As long as Isayama agrees to it then I'm fine.

If I'm not mistaken, Isayama has requested for certain changes to be made or certain things to be added in the anime, such as the ending to Season 1 or the dream that Eren woke up from in Season 1.

The only time that I can see MAPPA changing the ending, or make changes to the ending in the anime is if it's requested by Isayama himself, and from what I've heard, he wasn't a fan of the execution of the ending

So I could maybe see him working close with MAPPA to better execute the ending or make changes to it

I don't think they'll change the ending completely. They'll maybe just add some touch ups to make it more better. If they change it completely then it could be even worse.
