How do you feel about this meme? I mean when you say something and this is the reply that you get? Or they might say this is an anime site, why would you post / say that on an anime site of all places (or insert whichever venue).

I love the meme and it makes me laugh when I ask a question or spill my heart out and someone replies like this. But a small part of me dies a little. I feel like I am being stupid. Like I'm out of place. Like I'm asking or venting in the wrong place. And it's the same everywhere. Online, irl, it doesn't really matter the community. It doesn't matter if it's strangers, friends or family. They all seem to hint that I should be talking about it somewhere else. With someone else. And so I think to myself, where can I go with this? How can I deal with this? Will I ever get the answers that I'm looking for?

Inb4 Sir, this is a Wendy's.

:)

Not completely the same but the above reminds me of that one scene from "The Office".

Which one scene? I love so many scenes from both versions of that show.

'Sir, this is a Wendy's' is just the plastic poster child of some capitalist hound appropriating internet culture 'Sir, this is an Arby's' and making it a marketing ploy completely similar to what it was before, but for the wrong company. I, as a concerned stock holder, can't stand for that.

Season 4 episode 14 "Chair Model" from the US version. Michael Scott wants a girl in his life so Kevin hooked him up with "Wendy". Did you prefer the US or UK version?

+1, Yeah I have read it a few times. I only know Wendy's is a fast food restaurant. The customer with a empty speech bubble is stoned?

Ah thanks!

I loved both versions of the show. The UK one was great and consistent throughout. The US one had a slow start it tried to be too similar to the UK one and the humour wasn't working. But over the seasons it just went from strength to strength and I think it surpassed the original in quality and jokes.

Okay check this out.

Debilitating response to a long pedantic rant meant to render it insignificant for its douchebaggery.

When someone goes off about something unrelated or starts ranting and you just couldn't care less.

@SisterSemilla, Ahh I see, this is new meme to me lol. I am always outdated when it come to meme. :)

Back to topic: MAL is a specific forum relating to anime and manga. Lets not forget the minimal age to join is from 13+ which means different mindsets and responses that could be troll/chilidish comments.

It is recommended to post on a specific forum relating to the topic/subject. For example, If I need car advice or troubleshoot then I wont be asking MAL but rather car related forums. If you get what I mean. Most likely, the answers you will receive is not what you want to see.

oo we're reviewing memes now?

I've always found this one funny. Although my country does not have a Wendy's and just from context alone did I grasp the meaning the first time

It can feel a bit like you're being made a fool of yourself. When you're genuinely engaging with a topic and putting actual effort into making sense of it and someone just posts that meme at you, it pretty much has the implication "Why are you trying so hard bro? It's just fun and games bro. Imagine unironically caring about things lol." Although it has some acceptable uses, like when someone is imposing themself on you to tell you about this one supposed "truth bomb" that's gonna wreck your world or whatever—typically a right winger but can also be a leftie. In which case it is a good way to dismiss them as being unwelcome and prick-y to just barge in and make the conversation all about themself.

Ah yeah I see what you mean. I suppose I could use something like Reddit and find subreddits for whatever is on my mind and just get a quick answer and go. But I don’t really like the format I prefer to be in a place like this where I kinda get to know the users a little and we can just talk about whatever.

Yeah it’s funny indeed. No Wendy’s in my country either. Is it an America only chain, I wonder? Someone here must know.

Yeah that’s understandable. The meme does have those two uses. But a lot of people use the meme without knowing about the meme too. When they just basically this, “This isn’t the place for that.” Maybe it really isn’t the place sometimes. Maybe I shouldn’t think about these kind of responses too much.

I've noticed an increase in viral marketing through memes.

Wait are you joking? Why would you have stock in Arby's? If you're going to have stocks at least put it in something beneficial to humanity.

I suppose but reddit is also a hit or a miss place and I agree the reddit interface is rather confusing just like windows 8 operating system. I am not stopping you of course to post on MAL/. :) Though, you may not get the responses you desire compared to a anime/manga topic.

@SisterSemilla also saw both however I also felt the US version was a bit better. It could be the fact the UK was only 2 seasons. However I felt the quality dipped after Steve Carell left the show. James Spader was good but I preferred Steve. It's still good though.

Of course I have no stocks in Arby's, that would be dumb. I agree one should at least put their money into something beneficial to humanity, that's why I used to have stocks in Monsanto.
