It is normal. He could not transform fully that's why he looked different.

Yeah he could, I just like to think that he is caught off guard and surprised by Reiner.

Pretty sure because he wasn’t fully able to transform. He has already sustained some injuries. Plus he isn’t really motivated to fully fight, he’s basically being forced to keep on going for Gabi and Falco’s sake.

So far my favorite episode of the season. It managed to get me excited.

Eren was really savage the whole time. I love how brutal he is when he fights. No compromises. It is a joy to watch.

Ngl, that scene after the op where Mikasa is swinging around looked cool. It's kinda weird that MAPPA put all of their effort into just that scene and nothing else, but whatever. I'm just glad that there's something in this season that doesn't look like shit for once.

You are absolutely disgusting, you can shit on the series, but implying that the mappa workers aren't putting any effort is plain wrong, have you been following their interview where the staff members has been having little sleep and doing their best to make it as good as possible with the limited time they have to animate it?

If you were a fan of this series, I have no doubt you will be like those people that attack the staff, not knowing what is going on behind the scenes.

I would rather you stick to shitting on the series and not the Mappa staff members, thank you very much.

THANK GOD FOR THOSE 3D TITANS!

It's been amazing to see a fight between titans without frames where they're deformed

That means the end of the anime will have a consistent quality, i cannot imagine those crybabies from WIT trying to animate that, they would shit themselves, well, in fact they already did that
I'm not english, i'm spanish, so sorry for my mistakes when i write D:

I ain't gonna lie, I was a little bit disappointed the in the last episode because I didn't think the OST and animation was that great.

But holy shit this episode.

FUCKING AMAZING. The director KILLED it with the OST and the animation was top knotch. I didn't give a shit about the CGI when the OST was banging and emotions were running high. The CGI actually looked better compared to last episode too

Hold up, is this episode 6 discussion thread? Because I didn't notice any cgi characters in this episode, post screenshot or I call bullshit.

And the Collosal titan was 2d btw.
bro there are cgi character in ep7 go rewatch it again, not has many has ep6 but there are. For colossal titan, I meant when studio wit did AOT they used cg on colossal titan and its fine. The colossal titan on ep7 was amazing btw.

Incredible episode, easily surpassed my expectations, the directing in particular was amazing it made everything feel intense, i'd say it's slightly better than ep 6. Ost was really good as well as 2d animation. However i don't understand how people can like this episode and not the previous one since the quality of the cgi is pretty much the same (i'd say slightly worse at times, Eren titan face is nightmare fuel) and directing only a bit better. Probably a mix of lower expectations, more 2d animation and the content adapted.

Man its insane how this is one of the few shows where I'm completely on the side of the villains, every death they suffer is gut-wrenching to me. Apart from Berthold he was lame.

While I wasn’t sad in the moment, when you go back and look at it after seeing everything it’s honestly kinda sad. Bertholdt never wanted to be there, he just wanted to go home like Annie. However in the end, he is surrounded by no one he loves and calls out to his “friends” in a attempt to be saved. I love the warriors just for how well they’re written.

Yeah so true. I wish we had a bit more development for Berthold tho, but Annie and Reiner were amazing.

Such a good episode, really nice to see the ODM gear in action again it brought me back to the older seasons.

The story-telling up to this point has been so smart and grounded. Most anime tend to depict geopolitical conflicts in a pretty simplistic way which can lead to a reductionist outlook. Maybe I overthink political anime plots since I studied politics, but it's refreshing to see an anime depict a political/military conflict in such a nuanced manner. Seeing things from Marley's POV is really effective in this sense. Both sides have their issues and are blinded by historical circumstances or political manipulation, it creates a messy and convoluted situation which is what real war is actually like. I think this season of AOT shines in this aspect, although the conflicts are evidently based on real historical events, the story goes beyond that and fleshes out it's own rendition of a complex military struggle.

I already can't wait for next week...

Great episode, the 3D animation was a lot better here. So many gruesome scenes, I was hurting for Pieck.

Did Zeke really call out Levi by name, only to get annihilated a few seconds after? lmaoooooo

So from what I can tell, Eren went into Marley by himself (or with little support) and Armin and Hanji unwillingly came to rescue his ass. Poor Armin.

Marco begging for Jean to stop, I bet that messed up Jean's mind for years to come.

Seeing Eren drink the blood of War Hammer like that, I really think he lost his mind. Reiner at the end "won't those kids stfu, i just wanna die..." lol

Damn they really did Mikasa dirty this season. She looks like Levi, if he was a JoJo character xD Other then that episode was dramatic, action packed and fun to watch all around. Levi finally showed the beast titan who's boss, and Eren now is just a cold-hearted war criminal.

If they were trying to invoke some kind of sympathy towards the new characters in the beginning of the season, they failed miserably, at least with me. A small handful of episodes is just not enough to make someone feel important, when you already have a full roster of developed characters.

Alright Funi finally got the episode working. Still don’t like CGI, but it wasn’t a big deal for me. The most important things I care about in SnK are the character interactions, OST and emotions that I get when the seiyuus are added into the equation.

In that regard, the episode was great. Props to Gabi’s seiyuu for that amazing performance at the end there. Really felt that scream for help. I also think the Jean and Sasha takedown of Pieck was way cooler animated than reading it.

Can’t wait for next week.

Aw shit this episode!!

Pieck gets taken out, Armin makes his debut as the Colossal Titan and Nukes the port,

Levi takes down Zeke!? doubt he goes down this easily (he probably did what Reiner did when he got cornered in Shiganshina... if he knew Levi was coming for him that is), but Damn! Loved how he casually takes a Grenade and drops it on Zeke's nape to finish him.

Absolutely savage of Eren to use Galliard's Jaw to break through the War Hammer's armor in order to eat it, which completely broke Galliard aswell... then he proceeds to beat the shit out of Galliard!
Just Love how Savage and Merciless Eren became to begin with. Although Mikasa is not fond of it but worried instead

Was careful at first and it took a bit to get used to Mikasa's new Look but i think i'm digging her look now.
Also these new ODM Gears look so freakin Badass aswell!
The OST beeing over the Top as expected of Shingeki no Kyojiin!
This Season doesn't break the hype.

That preview though... Fuck you Gabi... Levi is among them, hope he won't be the one...

I feel like voice actors are trying to convey emotions but animation is just not keeping up. It feels like a lot of times you see someone animated in a very plain, neutral way when the person is in despair. That's the thing that put me down the most this episode and most of others so far.

That's pretty good cgi then, because I am not noticing it compare to last episode, I may need to pause the frames when I rewatch the episode to see if I can spot it.

@Gamefan121

We have all made that conclusion since episode 6 and if anything this episode was better than last week, so you might as well come to turn and hope that this level of animation stays like episode 7, because with the limited time Mappa have this is the best they can do and I really loved this episode.

So yes, it could have been better if Mappa had more time to animate snk, but unfortunately that isn't the case.

Holy shit. The animation is not comparable to WIT's in any feasible way, and the anime is straight-up worse than the manga. It was a good episode, but it could have been so much better.

Shit, Peick came.
Fuck, Zeke is here.

Levi vs Zeke ROUND 2!!!
Oh no... MAPPA is definitely getting harassed as I watch this action scene. Gotta check Twitter after this. Zeke is calling out Levi XD
Kind of good to see Magath being worried for Falco. He did grow fond of them.

Its Armin! Everybody loves Armin! Finally, my man is here. He took out those soldiers they were worried about.
Galliard's hot head is going to cost them bad. Oh well there you go, Levi got Zeke again.
Sasha getting them Head-shots! Damn!!!
Panzer squad's gone. Pieck defeated fuck! This battle has turned around SIGNIFICANTLY!

Of all the things, I did not expect the Colossal to be 2D. Wow, it actually looks good.
Well, lookie lookie here. Its Hanje!

And now ladies and gentlemen, if you look to the front, you can spot the Nut-Cracker Titan.
RIP Lara. There goes the Warhammer.

Reiner woke up. Damn his face without armour, looks so much like his human face.

This episode was so good! Sure the CGI was there but after completing it and looking back it was one hell of an episode! Totally awesome! I LOVE IT!!!

Gabi in ep6 and 7 reminds me of Eren in episode 2 when he was screaming about killing the Titans.....there's actually a nice parallel here
