Frankly, since this anime was announced, and I see incredible fame there are people saying it will be the best anime this year and people say this anime will revolutionize .... So I decided to watch it. 9 episodes have passed and I have not seen anything that makes me dazzled frankly. Honest story as a very good idea and the characters are distinct and I can hang on to it I can count 5 characters I got my attention but unfortunately implementation was not good drawing I got used to it but the movement is bad so far we did not see a good fight with wonderful animation in short this is just an ordinary anime did not deserve all of those Noise but I'm fair there is still I think about 4 episodes maybe we'll see something that makes me change my mind |

His course of actions is pathetic one.ImmovableObject said: Bam might be the most pathetic protag in all of anime that i ever saw. It's laughable. It is all because of his voice, xD. In the manhwa when he was blasted by that green energy from the sword he was even kinda cool. lol He enters the tower for a specific reason - finding his girlfriend. Considering he knew full well how dangerous it is - you'd think he will be more pro-active in achieving his goals. He finds his girlfriend in ep 4 or 5, and yet hasn't made even a single step in approaching her and talking to her. Ep 10 and he still didn't talked to her. If i didn't knew better i would have assumed someone kicked him onto this path against his own will. I know that effeminate and passive MC's - are somewhat of a cliche in anime, but daaaaamn Bam takes this to the utmost extreme. Deku has nothing before this rag of a person. And Shinji is a freaking alpha chad next to him. Rachel is not Bam's girlfriend. He was living in a cave and was eager to escape that dark place. The one who rescued him and taught him everything about life was Rachel. He also mentioned in the anime that he belonged to Rachel. Bam would have the same feeling for Rachel even if she was a boy. Bam didn't make any attempt to talk to Rachel because he respected her decision regarding the fact that she was reluctant to see him. This process was shown in the anime when he attempted to knock her door, but he stopped doing so. That being said, Bam never hesitated to help Rachel when she was in the danger. In the crown game, he jumped off the throne to rescue Rachel. In the hide and seek arc, after seeing Androssi's betrayal, he immediately called Rachel. So, he wasn't passive in terms of protecting her. Shadzzo said: kavehym said: Shadzzo said: Man i will be honest. The writing and character interactions are one of the worst from the popular series. Its worse than many seasonal trash anime that keeps airing every season. Everything just happens. We get a small pill sized character background for a character and thats it. No world building. No character development. Bad animation. God I was planning to rate this a 7 at some point but it keeps getting worse and worse... All characters' backgrounds given in this episode justified characters' actions. Take the example of Ho into consideration, one can understand from his background that he lacked the power to protect his friends, and because of this, he became jealous of Bam who had inherent talent. "We get a small pill sized character background for a character and thats it" Sorry but showing few still images doesn't make me sympathize to the character. I didn't get the feeling to care about any of them I understand that this scene wasn't touching for you. However, you said that in this anime everything just happens, and then, talked about the background info and concluded that this series didn't have any character development. That is the part with which I disagree. What you are criticizing is the plot of the story, not its narration. I can discuss this topic, but if you give me the example of "one of seasonal trash anime" which has better characterization during the first nine episodes, I can elaborate on my opinion more efficiently. ramy22 said: Frankly, since this anime was announced, and I see incredible fame there are people saying it will be the best anime this year and people say this anime will revolutionize .... However, how could manhwa-readers predict that it is going to be a low-budget adaptation that turns 78 chapters into the 13 episodes by excluding most of world-building, iconic dialogues, and interactions, and adding some anime-only scenes that have only brought about plot holes and confusion? People were hyping this series based on the source material. If you have the same problem with the source material, that is another story and we can discuss it; nevertheless, I doubt that the ones who were hyping this series are satisfied with the current adaptation. I am talking for myself, but if somebody showed me this episode after the anime announcement, I would be destroyed and wished that they wouldn't make the anime. However, right now, considering how terrible the last three episodes were in terms of adaptation, I am pretty satisfied with this episode, at least, they were able to convey the atmosphere to an extent. |

Sad to see Quant's dialogue was butchered. One of the most memorable things from season 1. I remember him saying he doesn't care if Rachel dies, but if she does die, he'll kill everyone involved. I'm sure the other betrayers were involved too which was cut. Plus not mentioning the safe zone that Quant can't enter makes it really stupid, since rankers are supposed to be OP compared to regulars. Really ruined Quant's character in the anime. |

Lmao was I suppose to feel bad for Hoh here? I couldn't help but laugh when dude just stabs himself. SO dramatic. Also once again the show tries to make me give a shit about Rachel, and Bam's obsession with her when they've basically given me zero character development or any reason to care. |

Imo i had no emotions reading manwha since ho wasnt major characters, but in anime the voices and music made more emotionals Hoh death did nothing for me in the manhwa, but I cried watching this episode. Ah, the beauty of reinterpreting the story for a different medium. Hoh's voice actor did an amazing job. |

A lot of betrayal in one episode. Now Rachel won't be able to escape anymore and i hope she will face Bam. She actually tricked the Ranker xD And Bam is getting better but i feel that we will see only one of his major fights in this season (I didn't read the Manga). |

Nurguburu said: Ok, this episode was meh: Things that I like: +Hoh's death. Not because he's a good written character ot he's cool, he was so cringe to watch..In every moment, he was just angry at Baam. KIll him to not to see him again was a smart move. +Endorsi actions and past. I like this and her past turned out to be much more interesting along with Anak's past from several episodes ago. +Baam helping Endorsi after their talk. I would have put him as negative if he hadn't done anything but I'm glad that he can comprend the situation. Things that I don't like: -Rachel being useless. Honestly, she is a plot device at this point and lacks personality so I don't care what she is doing. It seems to me that the author forget to give more importance to this or it is directly the result of a bad adaptation. -Endorsi trolling Quant was pretty obvious since she told him "where" is her badge. I expect a better twist like they did in the last episode but it was all very predictable. I'm disappointed. 3/5 I disagree with the fact that Hoh's death was a plus, his backstory seemed interesting and all the traumatic events he experienced are a good explanation to his erratic behaviour and i wish that they developed him some more. And i also hate the way the scene had absolutely no emotional impact as it ended so quickly and felt really out of place. |

Well, it definitely felt rushed but it was a good episode nonetheless. The backstories of Ho and Endorsi were really interesting but I would've prefer to see more of them, it was literally just a little glimpse of it. Bam had a good highlight this episode, his exchange with Endorsi showed some conviction from him, and his intervention in the fight between Quantz and Endorsi reinforced it, that was good to see; also, that scene with Rachel being threatened by Ho was pretty tense, when she was stabbed things got real, and the later suicide from Ho was... shocking. Another highlight of the episode for me was the focus on Serena, when she slapped Endorsi I was honestly scared lol, but to be honest, it was needed more development for her prior Ho's death, so we could understand her better and feel true empathy, I liked her role in this episode but I feel it lacked potency. Last but not least, all this underground planning was really good to watch, the mistery of who's the big manipulator in the game was pretty thrilling, and at the end it seemed to be Endorsi, not too big of a surprise but a good twist anyways, but something that left me wondering is that Quantz is also part of this plan so, is Khun also behind this plan? Maybe I messed the line there, but it truly intrigue me. It could have been better, but it was a good episode, a (really big) lot happened. Now, to wait for the next one. |

I regret reading the manhwa of this part right before the anime. All fights were cut short, interesting interactions at the end between spear bearers, Hoh, Bam and Quant were cut. Anime Bam is trash, hating him more with each new episode. His voice actor could be a contributing factor. If there is a season two, hope they don't try to cram 300 chaps into 13 episodes. |

Plot holes be damned, I really enjoyed this episode for what it was. Overall enjoyment matters more to me than plot for these type of shows. What plot holes are you seeing ? Why is anyone that is "Guaranteeded to pass" even allowed to play or even playing. It's beyond me. I mean Arrak isn't participating despite being the only person that has the personality traits to want to anyways I liked the episode. A lot. Looks like Hoh's trauma peaked here and he just couldn't take the pressure of losing everything anymore... I appreciate the detail though that all his dead clan/siblings had their horns harvested, so there's a little hint at what that backstory is about. I'm glad Endorsi established to Bam here that what he wants isn't the same as what Rachel wants. And we got a little bit of her backstory... she slaughtered all her adoptive siblings so she could advance in her world, and it's the only method she knows to use. Also her panty mislead was amazing lmao |

as someone who've read the webtoon, i'm so disappointed that the adaptation wasn't as good (or maybe my expectations were just too high idk). i remember back then when i was reading this part, i felt so giddy and was at the edge of my seat but with this episode, it just felt so anticlimatic and rushed. i know this has been mentioned many times already, but they've cut out a lot of scenes that could've made the episode a whole lot better and instead the focus was shifted to less important details. also, bam's "simpness" is so evident in this episode lol |

So weird episode, Hoh character just feels pretty cheap, he's angry at Bam for some reason (???), actually so dumb believing a random letter and why we should care about him in the first place. They put random unecessary drama.... and why the hell you guys have to be so edgy and hurt your teammate while Team A doing absolutely fine by simply working together lmao, Khun effect. And ofc Bam is a simp.... idk what's so appealing about him that look charming for some people in this story. Gon is also naive but he is more charming & interesting than Bam, Rachel is boring so far, she doesn't do anything, Endorsi doing unecessary shit and being biased to Bam, that nametag scene is also pretty lame by the ranker. |

MC, like how hey i want to beat y'all but let me tell you the reason & my past-moment first lol. Am i missing something here that beats Fisherman gives you more point to pass? Hide and Seek is not a "pass or fail" test. It's a test in which you collect points by your performance (both individual and team) towards the end-goal which is passing the position test. In each position there is a number of spots available for people to pass, for example it's 4 for fishermen or 2 for wave controllers, so if you aren't there you fail the position test and are expelled from the inner tower. The game rules are not explained properly and messed up in the anime, so it's no wonder that anime-only's are confused. That's also why some people in previous episodes were said to be guaranteed to pass as they have accumulated enough points prior to the Hide and Seek game that they could basically get 0 points in it and still they would have the most points in their respective positions. Basically, Androssi attacked other fishermen because she ultimately competes with them for a spot. She didn't attack Bam cause he's a wave controller and she wouldn't gain anything by it. Just like Khun competes with Rachel (lightbearers), Bam competes with Hoh (wave controllers) and so on. |

I'm just not feeling this. Bam basically has no reaction to anything. The dysfunctional team B can basically be compared to the convoluted nature of the episode as a whole. It seemed like they tried to add a plethora of 'deep' stuff into the episode that for me didn't get enough attention individually and thus the whole thing sorta fell flat. I also wasn't a fan of how this tag competition was handled at all. I honestly believe that too much is being left vague and the show would have benefitted from establishing some more concrete character and world building without throwing out these short and halfhearted backstories that don't work nearly as well as they should. Oh well. At least the music is good! |

I like the series a lot so don't get me wrong but tbh i found the way Hoh died kinda dumb. He's climbing the tower because his people were slaughtered so why would he kill himself? The episode is too fast pace and I 100% now know we are ending on chapter 73 of the manhwa because they are flying through the plot development like crazy. I hope there’s a season 2 and I hope they calm down this pacing. I only know what’s going on because I read the series. It would be really hard to follow for someone who hasn’t. |

I was expecting this huge blow up from Bam, maybe see some more of his power that was teased during the crown game? Idk, seemed like a missed opportunity. And I didn't exactly have any ties to Hoh, his backstory was extremely rushed and I think the impact of this character's death was hindered because of this poor pacing. Only 4 fisherman will pass out of 6 all based on points. Endorse got no points due to injury. So guess what if 2 fisherman won't be able to continue in next test other 4 will automatically pass. That's what endorsi was doing. Ok let me explain few things that will help you grasp what is going on. 1. Rules for passing test : * it will be solely decided by total point an individual have after tag game (by total points means points thay got during their individual position training + points got from tag game) and not by the result of tag game (but of course tag will play major role) *only certain fixed no. Of individuals will pass from each position. For example among all light bearers only 2 will pass, among all wave controllers only 2 will pass, among all spear bearer only 4 will pass (among which two are already passed (rak and other giant guy) due to special challenge given to them during their position training of hitting target. So they passed irrespective of their points as they passed that challenge) *now I will explain why some people are guaranteed to pass no matters if their team fails in tag. People like laure, shibisu performed superbly in their respective position training and previous tests so they are top points holder in their respective position training (enough that even if they are the only persons who fails tag test and other persons in their respective position all passes tag game, will not be able to outscore laure ,khun and shibisu in their respective position training) * note that so indirectly every person is competing only with other person in same position. For a person performance of other position persons has no value. * now I will explain bam’s situation in all these and how hoh is also affected by it. As I mentioned above only 2 wave controller will pass the test based on final points and laure being maximum point holder has already guaranteed to pass so logically only one spot is vacant for wave controller and all wave controller so are competing indirectly for that spot. Baam is not in top 2 point holder among wave controller and grey (short girl) in team A has got more points than bam so if team A wins than even if team B(bam’s team) win bam will not be able to outscore grey (wand staff girl is also there in team A) hence it is sure that if team A passes bam will fails . Note that Hoh is also a wave controller, so he is also competing for that one spot of wave controller. |

He should've kept living and continued fighting for the sake of his people. Not that I hate him and I actually feel sorry for him. It's just his death... so impractical He will not pass his test and so won't be able to climb tower. So he got nothing to do now (lost all hopes). |

This is a total mess, characters are casually talking to each other in the middle of conflict, Bam's reaction to Rachel getting stabbed was underwhelming, and he just left her and kept fighting without bothering to stop the bleeding. The concept of the princesses and the betrayals that happened in these last two episodes were interesting, but the writing and directing are awful. |

brzytki said: Hide and Seek is not a "pass or fail" test. Zombiedub said: Ok let me explain few things that will help you grasp what is going on. 1. Rules for passing test : * it will be solely decided by total point an individual have after tag game (by total points means points thay got during their individual position training + points got from tag game) and not by the result of tag game (but of course tag will play major role) *only certain fixed no. Of individuals will pass from each position. Overall it's a mess-fest that forced people to swallow. Well, thanks for explanation. |

Im sorry but this episode was just a big mess. There is too much happening and most of the characters' behavior is senseless. 1/5 I don't remember when the last time I saw such a bad episode. |

Bam still has no character, even when confronted with the twist in this episode, he barely reacts even though he should be furious. Yeah, completely agree.. Unbelievable music and great fight sakuga saved this episode Why would Bam need a big power showing for a small time villain like Hoh, Hoh is like super weak. |

I'm not saying he needed the power to defeat Hoh, I'm just saying as a story beat, I thought it would have made sense for Bam to be taken over by rage considering Rachel, the sole reason Bam is climbing to begin with, just got shanked. Bam has been a very weak protagonist up to this point and I think this would have helped fans start to cheer for him. But; now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think Rachel is like dying or anything from this wound? So maybe this epic rage moment that I imagined wouldn't fit here after all.. Idk just spit balling really. I still think this episode is very poorly paced though |

Lol people are hating on this episode but I actually fucking cried holy hell... wtf I don't remember it being this depressing at all in the manwha... When Serena came and just sat down omfg....... Also when she had that little biff with Androssi it hurt so much wtf.. since Serena's not strong but she still.. especially since the previous episode when her and Hoh were chatting wtf This made me extremely depressed, it's a reflection of real life what they were talking about this probably my favourite episode maybe. Honestly wasn't expecting to be so emotional while watching. Iunno I'm sad and thinking about all the people who "fell off the tracks" now, if you know what I mean. Life got in the way of their true nature or fucked it up somehow and then they just... meanwhile some other people get a golden free pass. When Serena ran up, fuck... It's so depressing because in the previous episode I think she understood where he was coming from too since she'd been through stuff LOL I'M BALLING MY EYES OUT WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, I DID NOT EXPECT THIS SIGH, when she's talking about her past regret fjkshdfsjlsdfksfdaskfsdgfgdfg but then ughhh the last few things she said. It's true though in life. :/ "kedo" --------------- Also if it hasn't been addressed the plot stuff is there to show that Baam is gifted at copying techniques after seeing them once since that's one of the early things in the manwha |
