I know right? I'm also really shocked. The score just keeps going down even though it's had consistent good quality since around chapter 12. I don't understand why people keep rating it low.

Here to explain: artstyle is bad - shading doesn't exist so you can't see shit, and the artstyle in itself is not good either.
story - well I read only like 6 or 7 chapters untill I dropped this, but the plot in these chapters was hillarious. There's a kid who can't leave house, because he's disabled, and some day there was a talking cat, who was a samurai, and he was brought to Hachimarus house. In the same time Hachimarus dad was getting in argument with a guy who lended his money to him. Hachimarus dad couldn't pay him up so the other guy went to his house to rob him. He got in the fight with the cat, and in the result Hachimaru died, but he resurrected himself like 3 pages later, as a op samurai, with no flaws. After something like that, there's no way that I will take it seriously. It's a first chapter, and they already lost it. The fact that he wasn't disbled, he was just allergic doesn't help it.
In the few next chapters he gets out of his house for the first time in his life, but it gets unticlimactc really fast, because he fells from his flying dog, through the roof of the nolife girl, who even has imaginary friends. Hachimaru says some motivational quotes and wants her to get out of her house, without really any reason, but she refuses, so he says that he was the best player in some game, and because of that she got better. Now that's a comedy gold medal here. I don't know if it got better later, I don't think so.
Try to compere this to Naruto, or even (God help me) Fairy Tail. Samurai 8 would've been cancelled very quickly if this wasn't made by Kishimoto. This is a 4/10, 5 at best.

+ After Ch8 when ATTA comes it became so good and now the story just gets in a brand new tournament arc ( if you can call it a tournment )

I mean, Edens Zero has been pretty great for a while now but it still has a low score. New mangas by popular mangaka's tend to get bad scored by haters of their previous works and Naruto and Fairy Tail has plenty of those haters.

Also, you shouldn't care too much about the scores as we all know that most of the people here on MAL are people who think that they're critics of the highest caliber.

Art: 5
They´re so many circles in every image and there´s no shadowing

Story: 5
The problem with the story is that is very complicated. They try to teach you wath is a samurai through filling monologues and still isn´t clear

Characters: 6
Hachimaru is a kid who lost all the problems he had in the first chapter, the cat isn´t an interesting chracter because he rarely act accordingly the situation. The only interesting character is Hachimaru´s father because of his complicated relation with his son

Edens Zero isn´t criticated because of FT haters. Is criticated because the main characters are a copy paste from FT. And I don´t mean only about design, but in personality. The same people who say that Hiro Mashima reuses his designs love it when Toriyama does it. Also, I don't know if we've been reading the same manga because while the characters look alike they don't act of feel alike to me. Also, there is a common misconception with OP = bad character. Badly written OP characters like Kirito is bad while well-written OP characters like Meliodas and Mob. Shiki is the demon king so that's why he's strong but he's not overpowered at all. Heck he's struggling against a lady in a robot at the moment.

The friendship thing has been toned down and is more often used as a running joke in Edens Zero.

yeah recently in that battle shiki is having a real challenge, which is good compared with Natsu becausethe power scale is better written than in FT. But Im not saying i don´t like EZ because I like it. II just sayed the reasons why the people don´t like it

the story is too wacky, too many exposition when world building still vague. made it feel pointless. character is not interesting. the only redeemable part is it's adventure and art.

would surprise me if it's actually survive, lOl. unless it made very drastic change.

It isn't good, as someone already pointed the artstyle is good but has no shading or use of line weights(variation of line thickness), so your eyes take some time to focus on the subject, it gets pretty difficult to know what's going on, also because of the bad panel to panel action.

The story hasn't been the best either, too much exposition, the villains explaining their master plan for some reason, power levels of planet destruction right of the bat with the first villain Ata, killed the strongest samurai on the planet with just a few strikes, the fight between Ata and MC's group was good though, but the pacing got pretty hectic after that.

They also just introduced some new characters that are super annoying.

It's unfortunate cause I think the series has actually started to show potential for itself but yeah it just failed to have a captivating start and the art style absolutely ends turning people away cause its real hard to see.

I think this could be a pretty solid manga if it survived, but its pretty much guaranteed to get the axe, lets see if it can narrowly avoid it and pull a world trigger/act age but I think this is a pretty cut and dry failure.

The stupid statement about his hard-to-follow art is utterly idiotic cuz the art has hugely improved after chapter 6, that's right. Saying "art is bad" is the most laughable statement someone can say right now, unless they have just read the first 3-4 chapters. Actually this manga has one of the best art right now.

Right now Samurai 8 is fire and very interesting.

You're very wrong,I loved reading and watching Naruto and Fairy tail,infact they are my favorites,but i absolutely hated boruto,eden zero and samurai 8,all because of crappy story, arrogant,bratty MC'S and ugly art

Okay, i read until chapter 26 (aprox). It's pretty decent but not good.

There's a lot of problems with the first two volumens. It's kinda Kishimoto didn't know what the hell go with the story. First Hachimaru obtained a body and have a solo adventure. Later starts a training but it's interrupted by a boss fight. Yeah later it explained than he didn't go full Power (i hate when mangakas do that), and know is a space opera but no, Tournament of Power..

And there's too much info about the rules of this world... But it's just the one with strongest will wins. Because of that there isn't a feeling of progess or growth by the protagonist. He's just the winner.

Finally the art is a little confusing (not awful) specially in battles. For example Daruma vs the bandits boss in the planet of battles. It was huge, trying to be epic but was very difficult to follow.

It tries to be complex but really is another fun and dumb Shonen manga.
