We all know they are out there. Anime that blow the traditional Japanese out of the water. Some of us have watched and loved them without even knowing. Here are my favorite Non-Japanese Anime. Feel free to add your own to the list!

RWBY: Created by Rooster Teeth of the USA, it has been called both an Anime and just a cartoon.
Quanzhi Gaoshou: A Chinese Anime that focuses on MMORPG's like WoW and LoL, As well as dwarfing Anime like SAO or Overlord.
Avatar the Last Airbender: Another American Anime. This one everyone has seen on Saturday morning cartoons, and it even inspired a spin-off series called Legend of Korra.
Cupid's Chocolates: Another Anime created in China. This one follows a nobody boy who suddenly becomes a Harem King.
Wakfu: A French Anime that follows the storyline of a video-game by the same name.
Ghost Messenger: A South Korean Anime that follows the life of a super-powered agent who gets trapped in a virtual world.

Anyone have any other amazing Anime to add to this list? Feel free to comment down below!

I enjoyed them though.

The Netflix Castlevania animated series is the best thing that has happened to the Castlevania franchise since Symphony of the Night, so definitely watch that.

For what its worth, Avatar is held in very high regard, the imdb score is north of 9.0 on 150k+ votes and TV.com has it rated just as high

Well I guess the "Americans don't know geography" joke lives to fight another day.

Seriously though, that term always surprised me, given the geopolitical history between China and Japan over the past century.

Though ironically these days we now do have literally Chinese cartoons gaining international notice.

Idk what you mean by non-japanese anime. If you just mean non-japanese animation, there's a ton, including a lot of Pixar movies, Rick & Morty, Bojack Horseman, Archer etc....
If you mean non-japanese 'anime', I do like a bunch of the korean and chinese ones that you can find in the DB. But there isn't really anything in between. I'm not just gonna proclaim random western animated titles as anime just because I like them. They're still western animation. Nothing wrong with liking western animation, you don't have to call something anime to justify enjoying it. Unless you're a weeb.
I probably regret this post by now.

A lot of people just base it on the art style, and/or its attempting to tell an overarching story rather than being episodic.

RWBY is probably the most prominent example. To a lesser extent, Avatar, Wakfu, Code Lyoko, The Boondocks (which IIRC was actually animated by Japanese folks, even), and occasionally Teen Titans and Winx Club.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I know what they mean, I was just subtly trying to express how pointless I find definitions like that because of their undefined vagueness, which is everything a definition shouldn't be.
I probably regret this post by now.

I'm not interested in either defending or questioning MAL's anime definition. But of the animated show's mentioned so far that draw heavy and obvious stylistic inspiration from anime I've only seen RWBY, Castlevania, Neo Yokio (I know that was mentioned as a joke but regardless of quality it fits) and the two Avatar series of last Airbender and Korra. The two avatar series are easily the best of these and are fantastic with the last airbender probably edging out it's sequel for the top spot and giant toblerone which Neo Yokio at the bottom doesn't deserve and in between is RWBY and Castlevania, not sure in what order as Castlevania is very short so far and RWBY several seasons of varying quality, I've got more enjoyment out of RWBY due to lower expectations and plenty of fun action and music (at least before the dismal action of the last season) but there both still works in progress.

Dunno, as far as I'm concerned, I couldn't care less. I've watched like RWBY and Avatar and stuff, but while some of them are decent, none of them were particularly great.

As for the argument about what is and isn't anime which has inevitably brewed up with this thread, I like just being lazy and tagging along with whatever MAL defines it as. It is just convenient.

It may have been a Pandora's box, but it is worth it. Just for the record, in Japan, Anime is used to refer to all animations in the world. In English, Anime refers to just the Japanese style of cartoons. But there are more Anime to be enjoyed around the world!

I like a lot of the Anime that has been posted down below. In fact, there are a few titles i have not heard of and will be watching in the near future.
Another Anime I want to watch is this one: Reikenzan. Anyone watched it? Seems like a decent show.
Soul contract (another Chinese anime) seems to be a lot like Inyuyasha, though it has its differences.
Ulysses 31 is a hybrid Anime. It seems like it is both French and Japanese. While it is old (like Dragon Ball, but DB is amazing), it seems rather interesting, and i might give it a try!

Not really. I enjoy seeing what others think about non-japanese anime. Mainly because RWBY and Quanzhi Gaoshou are so good. My first Anime (not counting Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Digimon) was Legend of Legendary heroes, followed by Familiar of zero and chrome shelled regios. So i do really enjoy traditional anime, i just like to know that there is more out there!
