| The only Smash games I played competitively were Sm4sh and Project M. However Melee is entertaining aswell, I feel as if every smash has a different take on the competetive scene. 64 was really floaty, Melee was fast paced. Fuck brawl, project M is basically melee 2.0 and Smash 4 is a more accessible melee. |

| I'm thinking about buying it for myself and a couple of friends so we can see who is better to use: Link or Kirby. It has been a while since we played it seriously, though. Me personally, I stuck with the 3DS version; I never had the chance to play the N64 version. Not yet at least. |

(I mean, not to say, Westballz and Mang0 are super influential too!) Also, Does Everyone Hate Falco (DEHF), or more known as Larry Lurr played Falco in Melee! Anywho, I love Melee and would love to play with ya'll some time! |

| No, melee is really broken (you play with just 4 out of 25 characters if you want to win agains pros), i prefer smash 4 (the most balanced smash in my opinion). |

| I see what you mean @-Elegant- ! I do agree that Smash 4 is the most balanced Smash game out there. Yet, I love how melee is "broken" and mainly top tier characters are played to win. In my opinion, this creates even more hype moments when low/mid-tier characters are used and beat top tier characters! Love the set between DJ Nintendo vs. Unknown (Ryan Ford), when it was Bowser vs. Fox and Bowser won. Or look at aMSa where he won tournaments using Yoshi against top tiers such as Marth/Fox, etc. Then there's Triple R (one of my idols), and many more! The only turn off to this, is that you have to put in lots of work in knowing/playing a low/mid-tier character in order to defeat the top tiers! But the reward is so satisfying when achieving that victory! Let me know what you think about this, love to discuss! -Ken R. |

I saw that match too, whoa, i love when someone uses a low tier character even knowing they will probably lose, unfortunately it is rare in America because most of the tournaments involves money (unlike Japan), so people are very concerned about winning at all costs. I use Yoshi as one of my mains, he isn't bad i gotta say, of course in smash n64 he was a monster lol, but even in the others he is a good character, but really underrated though. Do you play other smash games btw? |

I will say that I have played Smash64, Brawl, and Smash4... casually! ___________________ I see your point on tournaments revolving around money in America - especially when you have to travel far, spend $5-$15 average per tourney, food, etc... But personally I compete to hone my skills and learn from playing in tournament sets, as well as friendlies from people I have never met before! For me, winning cash prize is one of the last reasons for wanting to compete. Let me guess, aside from Yoshi, is Luigi also your main? Or you like playing Luigi's Mansion? :D -Ken R. |

That DJ Nintendo Bowser vs Ryan Ford's Fox video is a classic among Melee matches. *Bowser tosses Fox away with his "legit command grab"* I loved Melee when I was a kid. SSB4 is what Brawl should have been IMO. I thought Brawl was disappointing when it was new. Although my least favorite change by far is Toon Link's down air no longer bouncing off opponents, because he's smaller than Regular Link. I don't like upper blast K.O's either because of Jigglypuff taking long to recover from Rest, and those should be reserved for when time's running out. They gave Fox's English Voice the best Star KO cry in SSB4. As of now, I have about 280 something trophies in Melee (including Diskun). |
