| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- First episode preaired today. (Abema TV) https://twitter.com/over_lord_anime/status/946295665562226688 It started off with talk about vampires. This felt like a solid way to reintroduce the series again with Ainz fighting in his knight armor. Albedo's return was quite the way as I had expected with her admiration towards Ainz. It felt more like a buildup episode though for the remainder of the season as we are introduced to some of the lizardmen. The last scene of this episode gave me goosebumps, yikes.  |

| For me, this episode started better than how to end the season, also the interest come back, just a little, but enough!!! |

| I liked the way they started the season. It had just enough explanation of things followed by a plot setup, the animation has improved (if you noticed the slight improvements) and it looks like this will be a good season! |

| Nothing really happened yet. Let's see how the lizard arc will be animated. I didn't like that Iguva doesn't look creepy. In the novel, it has a partialy decomposed body. In the anime, he's bones only. It is more closer to a comedy character when he speaks. |

| It has finally arrived and so far we are off to a good start. We start of with a select Intermission scenes from Vol 3, 4 and 7. To get an update on other people's reaction to the appereance of Nazarick. Next we switch to a quick flashback to Momon fighting the Gigant Basilisk from the Drama CD. ( Note Hamsuke was not in it, so these scene with her is anime original) After that we get a status update of what all teh guardiasn are doing and a quick tease of what is to come with the Lizardman. In short it really was a setup episode giving us bits and pieces of everything. which is good and we got introduced to a whole new bunch of characters who will play vital roles later in the season (most of them anyway) Ah thank goodnees they kept the same soundtrack from s1 along with some new material, that new end song is fire. A solid start hope it goes well foward. |

| I haven't read the LN for almost a year now but it seems like they fast-forwarded straight to the war declaration by Nazarick. Guess they're not going to waste too much time world-building around the Lizardmen lifestyle. So many character introductions in a short span of time where in the LN it was much more scattered. Also just noticed Rigrit has the same voice actor as Goku? That's a badass grandma voice. |

I guess it's more profitable/attractive this way for a first episode in anime media. It's highly important to keep viewers interested. Just like how NUT did it with Youjo Senki: jumping to the hot stuff instead of a slow paced introduction of the world; which they leave it to the 2nd episode. Of course, it's not like every studio does it that way. If I remember correctly, the adaptations of ToAru, Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni, their first episode was pretty much like the same for the prologue and first chapter of their respectives first volume. |
| Not a bad return for this series. Albedo is just as obsessive as ever, and the end of the episode was creepy as fuck. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. |

| Been far too long since I've had the opportunity of enjoying this series. I remember getting caught up to volume 10 before fan translations stopped after the licensing swarm took hold of this one. Can't wait to see vol. 4 thru 6 adapted. |

| Kyaaa. I miss Albedo so much! She made this episode so enjoyable and, of course, Ains-sama lowkey fanboying over her. Hahaha. This was a pretty dialogue heavy first episode which I really liked, but I almost suffered from information overload. Haha jk. Yaaay. Finally, Overlord II starts. | Please be 2-cour, please be 2-cour. I wanna see Vol 9.... or was it 10? All in all, good start. The lizards look really good. Much better than what I expected from the LN art. |

| As i waited in ambition for this show to come out thinking it was to be released on January 9th I stumbled upon it on Gogoanime and was in a very merry mood. For my wish for an early release for this show was granted by that jolly old fat man Santa. The first episode carried off a little after the shaltear incident in the previous season and introduced charters of the opposing sides, confirmed the existence of intelligent dragons as well as create the a new enemy. Most likely the church, which has the two character in the beginning of the first episode. With that being said, we are also given conformation that there either was a similar incident to the one that ainz is in or that there was another person like ainz who died after the, what i believe they said, 300 years, meaning the period of time that Ainz has been in this show is the same. Although that may be a bit of a stretch. However the first episode is indeed a great beginning for both the protagonist, ainz and the new antagonist, most likely the church, Slaine Theocracy. If anyone else has any theories on the new anime episode and how it may unfold then by all means fire away the more information we have the easier it will be to consider how this is to play out without, like most spoilers, reading the manga before the animation. | Loved it! I've been waiting for season 2 to get cracking. I can't wait for more episodes. It's nice they jumped straight into the story and cut out some of the exposition. |
