The official website of Shueisha's Dash X Bunko imprint has revealed that the 21st volume (shown) of Jou Taketsuki's Campione! light novel series is to be its final volume, which is scheduled to ship on November 22. Taketsuki will also pen a new story for the franchise with illustrations by BUNBUN (Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, Sakura Quest) titled Shiniki no Campiones on December 22.

Campione! began its serialization in September 2008 and has currently released 20 volumes. A manga adaptation drawn by Tsugirou Sakamoto has been serialized in Super Dash & Go between October 2011 and April 2013, releasing a total of 3 compiled volumes. The 13-episode TV anime produced by Diomedea aired in Summer 2012 under the title Campione!: Matsurowanu Kamigami to Kamigoroshi no Maou.

Ah thats a shame
This series is actually pretty interesting and featured plenty of good fight scenes and well designed and developed characters. Hopefully they will end it in a nice way though.

No... I remember this was a pretty good anime. Any chances of a 2nd season maybe? Ah well, guess I'll have to start reading the light novel...

This is one of the few harem anime series for which i wholeheartedly wished for a sequel but alas, with the ending of its light novel my hope for a sequel has been crushed.

I still have hope for a sequel of Boku wa tomodachi ga sukunai and Hagure Yuusha

Another self-insert generic battle harem light novel series finally comes to an end. It was about time. The anime didn't do a wholesome job of promoting the source material and the source material itself wasn't all that original or unique to begin with. As with a couple others here, nothing was lost for me either.

It's kind of souring for me since I did enjoyed the series. It wasn't anything special sure but I thought it was pretty entertaining for what it was worth.

Same opinion here, the anime didnt do much other than giving awareness to the LN.
I remenber at the time reading the LN volume first then watching the respective arc in the anime, and it made the whole experience very enjoyable.

The strength of the Campione is on the characters, and the enjoyment and lewdness going on, if you read it with such mindset, there isnt much to not enjoy.

Sad to hear it will end in volume 21, I have plans to go back to reading from vol 8 soon, so I hope the fan-translation picks up from vol 18 really soon.

Also that the series gets a good ending, favoring myself a nice happy harem ending!

Yeah and I think from what I remember the MC wasn't really as bad compared to others. He was pretty much alright to me. It was just a dumb, enjoyable experience to me, despite the flaws this would have. But its sad to see things go since I did remembered watching it and liking it a lot. The anime made me read the Light Novel a bit afterwards actually. :S I do need to continue it but I don't remember much where I was left off so I need to go and check.

Now that I think about it I do need to re-watch the anime as well as other stuff to do rewatches xD

I'm sad to see this series end, it was one of the very first light novels I've ever read and really enjoyed it (being a huge mythology buff certainly played a role). Then again, the author had already said that after the Civil War the series would end in just another volume so this has been coming for over a year now, so it's more like I've been waiting for it to see how this will end than it being a surprise.

I just wish they had handled the anime better, there was no need for that final anime original arc. It could have just ended after defeating Ame no Murakumo and added Ena to the harem, and take more time to flesh out the plot instead of rushing it.

You are in the wrong business then.

Most anime adaptations are solely for the purpose of advertising the original material to it can get a boost on Japanese soil from extra sales.

To them, your opinion doesn't matter, and honestly, if you enjoyed the anime that much, you should really go and read the LN, because it is an absolute treat with all the lewd stuff going on, and just fun in general to read.
MORE SO than the anime.
