| As a person with an actual Japanese name, I have nothing against it, however, Takamura is much more common as a surname, but the choice is yours. Or, you could change your surname to Takamura, so that if you ever had a child, their surname would be Takamura by default. |

| I think most of the syllables in the names now are getting shortened because calling someone with full name sounds weird nowadays. Maybe if you'd name your son as Takamura, it might get shorted to something funny and he wouldn't like it. |
