I loved that elder guy, it was great to see everyone getting outwitted by him ^^.
I probably regret this post by now.

Ha ha, the old got them all. Its nice to see Lupin finally tired of Fujiko's antics though.

I love how classy Lupin and Jigen are. No matter where they go, they're wearing their suits.

For a second, I thought the old man is Lupin in disguise when he was kind of trolling and making fun of the villain with that laughter, haha.

Good to know that I wasn't the only one. I kept waiting for Lupin to rip off the mask, but it never happened. Other than that, I do like that this time not only did Fujiko dupe Lupin, but the Elder duped both of them.

EDIT: Also, I love this little bit -

Hayate (to HQ): We're low on men, please send reinforcements.
Hayate (to Minion): The penalty for failure is death! (*murders with throwing axe*)

One of my favorites so far, the cast dynamics were really fun this time around and the Elder getting the last laugh (all the subterfuge in general was really fun) was a perfect ending.

the two statues remind me of the movie Indiana Jones and the temple of Doom. probably george lucas and steven spielberg got a little inspired from this episode.

I mean to be fair they did blow Lupin up
But anime have different physics when they get blown up

I thought Fujiko is going to win everything again
Nope, the old man is having the last laugh like he said xD

Nice to start the episode seeing Fujiko fighting! And they all tried to trick them all, but it's funny and cool that the Elder was the one who laughed in the end. I mean, normally you would expect Fujiko to get away with the treasure. xD

As the ski team was dispersing from the helicopter, it looked like they were wearing short sleeves in the blizzard, lol.

lol, old man is going to enjoy his retirement now. I'm always happy to see Fujiko being counterbetrayed. I feel bad for the gold statues though.

Yea, they got me good there.

I really liked Lupin's and Jigen's teamwork back in the cave, seeing Fujiko tricked like that by Lupin was just very satisfying, after all the Lupin tricking she did in the past.

I did not get the point of having two statues simultaneously. Why is one useless without the other?

Regarding "different physics" of blow up, to my disappointment that seems to be applied to Lupin and his team only. Head of bandits (Hayate) was blown up for good in the finale.

The twist at the end was funny with the elder outwitting everyone, but honestly I felt like this was the weakest episode so far.

Extremely funny episode, even if on a narrative level, in certain situations the logical thread was going to bless itself, but oh well! By now this is a characteristic of all the episodes that they do not have a certain linearity in the story. Never an episode like this is the clearest example of the message: between the two quarrels, the third enjoys. Grandpa is good, eheheheh !!!

damn this was a messy episode, glad it will be nothing but takahata and miyasaki directing from now on.

The first 3 minutes were the best part of the episode.
