 It was announced that Daisuke Higuchi's sports manga Whistle! will get a new anime series, along with new cast members and a new performer to sing the original anime's opening theme song. The ONA, which celebrates the 15th anniversary of the manga's publication, will begin streaming in 2017. | Lol my brothers are currently watching the first adaptation, and they told me about the voice actress, which I think is hilarious. A reboot is probably for the best, although I still want to experience the original for myself one day. |

| this anime sucked, but i will watch it again for eguchi takuya. also, shun horie is a great seiyuu with potential. i love him in idolmas sidem live. hisokathebutcher said: ginga e kickoff and giant killing are decent. area no kishi is okay too.And why can't we get a decent anime about football? IIRC, i know they are less likeable than days, but the character relationship is much feel natural than days... so i rate their character same...it's not, days is much better than whistle and has less shitty characters i recall only the blonde kid was good the relationships felt forced and awkward |

| Late to the news, but I was excited then immediately unexcited lol. Revoicing huh... I've read the manga twice cuz I really like it, although it's been a long time. Didn't know the anime sucks, it's kind of an odd choice to just do a revoice. Seems like little to no point to me. I might try it out then since I was planning to watch the anime some day. |
| I'm excited. Picking up that first manga of Whistle! when I was a kid was what made me love soccer again and dream to play it. |
