| This episode was painful to watch. Painful because of how bad it was. Subaru is just too pathetic and that Archbishop psycho ended up being too over the top and comical. |

| I know that scene with Rem crawling towards Subaru was supposed to be sad and all, but the only thing in my head was "GIRL DIDN'T JOKER WANNABE GUY JUST FREAKING SNAPPED YOUR NECK WHAAAAAAAAAAA" But okay. I THOUGHT HE WAS IN THE FIRST SAVE POINT! LOL Just imagine! Everything all over again. So that WAS Puck. Ka-kakoi! He is my favorite character on this show, so it was really cool to see his true form. For a moment I thought it was a dragon. Seeing Rem fighting is always welcome. She is such a boss. |

| Alás Re:Zero shows it's fangs, our MC this episode is thrown around so much it's painful and while that's happening he is thrown into complete madness and out of it by the actions of an insane man named Betelgeuse. This episode was exquisite by far the best episode of this entire series, it's clear how much money and hard work was put into this. First Subaru arrives at the village and finds the people he has gotten to know and care for killed in a brutal and disgusting manner, he panics, he thinks about Emilia but quickly avoids that thought and starts looking for Rem hoping she is still alive, when he arrives at the manner he finds Rem dead and mutilated, he loses his remaining hope and enters despair. He goes around the mansion looking for survivors but finds non, in one the rooms he finds Ram dead holding onto Petra with her eyes gouged out, this leads him into an even deeper despair as he looks for Emilia. Finally he reaches a hidden tunnel full of witch cult corps when he tries to open the door his fingers are instantly frozen and they break off, before he has the chance to scream in pain one of his legs is frozen and it also breaks off, he hears Puck in the background say that its too late and that he must now sleep like Emilia while slowly being frozen solid (it must of hurt like hell). He returns by death, sees Rem and goes mental, he is now completely lost it he is drooling and staring into empty places laughing, Felix sees him and mentions nothing is wrong with him physically (it should be noted that Felix hates people who have lost the will to live and probably didn't want to try harder), Rem notices that the witch's smell has gotten stronger on Subaru, she can't do anything but decides to leave because she believes if Subaru is around people he knows it might help him get better, Crusch seeing such dedication from Rem wonders why she is so loyal to Subaru, they aren't master and servant like herself and Felix, they aren't lovers since its obvious he is in love with Emilia. Rem answers that he is "special" which is a clear confession of her feelings for him, this leaves Crusch and Felix surprised, she says this without envy or hate in her words, it's a pure sentiment for someone who doesn't feel the same way about her, proving just like the previous episode just how Rem is loyal and how she cares for Subaru. While traveling it's obvious just how Subaru is bad, he falls onto her lap while they ride the dragon carriage and he is emotionless and empty, something that they cut out that I thought interesting in the manga is that when she falls asleep next to dragon she then wakes up next to Subaru who left the carriage and sought her for confort this leads me to believe that he is not completely empty as he looked. Next while they retake their travel they are attacked by the witch cult, Rem looses it and says something interesting, she says that the witch cult has taken her reason to live (her sister's horn, something that led her to hate herself) and now they are trying to take her reason to die (Subaru, who she is willing to die to protect) the witch cult takes Subaru proves that even simple cult members are to feared, Subaru is taken to Betelgeuse and chained, this man is clearly insane, he kills one of own men before Subaru's eyes, he licks his face and doubts his current predicament, we wonders how someone who is so loved can be like that, Rem arrives and fights for her and his life but before she could save him is captured by the sin archbishop's authority (a power only those with the witch's genes posses) she is then tortured and apparently killed before him, the sin archbishop tells him it's all his fault and leaves to pursue his true objective, Emilia, this snaps him out of his madness and begins to bang his head on the ground despair and rage, Rem approaches him with last strength and magic, frees him, declares her love to him and proceeds to die in his hand. He leaves the cave where he was captive and heads to the manor passing by the villagers and the kids cared for, when he reaches the manor the snow blizzard gets worse and he sees a figure atop to mansion who say "My daughter is dead...now sleep" it's obviously Puck but not the Puck we know, he is frozen alive once again and is decapitated in the process. After the credits and that magnificent image of his head slowly being covered by snow we see Subaru return by death once again but this time with rage and determination in his eyes, he hides these hostile feelings from Rem but it's obvious just how much he hates Betelgeuse. He now has 3 things, an enemy, determination and an objective. Now let the fun begin.  |

Nobody had problem with his actions until he named himself Knight. So just stop. He never insulted the council ether. The Head Sage even praise him for his defense of Emilia. | Damn such an amazing episode, we can really see how much all this shit is affecting Subaru and at this point i'm really rooting for Rem now. Can't wait to see what happens next. |

"no one stopped emilia or anyone else from dying before" In arc 1, the first time they die is because Elsa kills Rom and Felt for some reason, and when Subaru and Emilia come in, hides in the dark and guts them. They did not even know what Elsa looked like. Next time Subaru dies is when he reveals his goal to Elsa and she goes hostile and kills Rom, Felt, and Subaru due to her much higher skill. Next time he lives, only because he met Reinhardt and Reinhardt is a nice guy. If Reinhardt was not there, Subaru wouldn't achieve anything. In arc 2, Subaru dies cause the maids kill him, and he was already hit by a curse by the shaman. Rem dies because she is the one bitten by the shaman dog instead so she suffers from the unseen curse. If anyone had known that dog was a mabeast, Rem would have been saved. Subaru didn't stop the threat, he made everyone else aware that there was one. In the current arc, new enemies do appear, and were unable to be stopped. Except they did not attack the huge castle filled with powerful people they attacked Rosswals mansion, filled with two strong people and three more who rushed there to help. Huge difference. |

| The likeness between this and Dark Souls gets more real with each episode. God damn, what an episode. As much as i love Rem, watching those things happening to her, i still have to kinda love the directing and the rest of this episode. |

| Jesus, that was painful to watch. Not in a bad way, but because of the high levels of suffering in this episode. I already knew what was going to happen, but I still just ended up staring at the screen in shock for half of the episode. Re:Zero is easily one of the better series this year, I'm glad I picked this up. Can't wait to see how Subaru will get revenge... |
