I'd heard people at uni talk about it, I'd heard it on the radio, I even saw it on the EllenShow briefly, so I'm thinking, ahh, this should be pretty good. Maybe it might be as good as that John Cena prank call from last year. Boy. I was utterly, disgracefully, disgustingly and in a million other ways disappointed. What is this? It is literally some speech impaired guy pointing at a guy's shoes and saying "Damn, Daniel". Let me tell you 6 reasons why this is utterly stupid. 6 - There is less than zero comedic value in this video. I know that comedy is mostly subjective, but there is less than zero reason why anyone should find this funny. If I may quote talented YouTuber IHE: "This video is what it would be like if I pointed at a potted plant and said "Duurrr plant! Duuurrr plant!" 5 - Who is this Daniel, and why should anyone give a fuck? This snob nosed looking douchebag looks less interesting than if I filmed my lazy ass cat sleeping, at least she has personality. 4 - The bandwagon. Possibly the worst reason about "Damn, Daniel" is that people actually find it funny. Or... Do they? Do people find it funny? Or are they just mocking it like me? Fuck... Maybe I just take things so seriously, hahaha. 3 - This guys voice. Is so. Fucking annoying. Is this what is supposed to be the funny part? Is it? because I thought making stupid funny noises for comedy is what deadbeats like Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey do, and to be real, neither of them have had any good movies in a long fucking time. 2 - The context. What is the context? Who the fuck knows this shit? Are white vans supposed to be iconic to something worthwhile of filming several videos of the same kind, are white vans the new religion or something? I don't fucking get it fam, I just don't. 1 - Nobody can even explain why it's funny. Not even the own wikia page for Damn Daniel and explain why it's funny. Let me copy and paste it.  Memes, man. Who even knows. My friend has used "Daaaamn, X! Back at it again with the Y..." as a joke like maybe twice since it went viral and it got a chuckle out of me so idk. Possibly because I only saw the video itself once or twice?? It's entirely the dumb exaggerated voice though, honestly. p.s: The video itself did absolutely nothing for me and I still think it's mind-numbingly stupid, but when applied to other stuff it's meme-tier, clearly. |
