@ Crimsonwill: I'm glad I"m not the only one! I also recognized Aika, and then that oba-san reminded me of an older Athena, likewise the tall green-haired girl with the grandma-Athena reminded me of Alice. Possibly their ancestors...?
I can't remember for the life of me what Akari said once about how long ago water reached Aqua (earlier episode); but I'm guessing little Akatsuki wasn't a younger version of him but a younger version of his ancestor.

Oh yes and this too! I'm glad other people saw it. It definitely piqued my curiosity.

I wonder if president Aria visited the bridge with Alicia before. Since he was pretty confident in crossing the bridge, I'd assume he'd been there

i knew something was up when Akari cross the bridge.

the overwhelming feeling when Akari stated that aqua will become a beautiful planet, then the water flows and everyone is happy....but the best part for me is when Akiko said "Sayonara, atashi no avvenire" to Akari, The feels in that scene is so strong....i felt like crying. Akari is such a sweet person...

That was a wonderful episode. I wonder who the teacher really was.

I don't know if it was Aika as a child or one of her ancestors, but it was still nice to see her. 4/5.

I doubt it was Aika, since the terraforming was in early stages. Could have been centuries before the anime timeline.

If I'm not mistaken, the original colonists arrived on Aqua about 150 years prior to Akari's own time.

The exact time Akari just visited was never revealed, but yeah, it could be as far back as that. I don't mind, though it would be nice to see Akiko again. I think Akiko just figured out that Akari was a time traveler because of all the conflicting information that the two exchanged, plus Akari promised that Aqua would be covered in water in the future.

I really liked the scene with the bridge, reminded me of some Studio Ghibli films.

Sure, throw in some time travel. Then layer it with a flashback montage of the whole season.

Eh? Eh? Eh? Eh? Eh? Eeeeeeeehhhhhh?

So basically in the world of Aria, cats are able to perform miracles. They understand human language, behave like intelligent creatures, they transform into humans and talk with them and they make them travel in time.

If I ever went to Aria I need to remember to get cat.

A wonderful and relaxing episode as always. Akari has another supernatural experience with the past, huh? It was interesting to see how Aqua started and how something as simple as water coming can bring so much joy and happiness to people. Water is a something we tend to take for granted.

I really love Akari.

Just one more episode.

Where can I find this version of opening song in this episode.. I searched for it on youtube, but can't find it :((

This series is the story of unmarried career women. This is why cats are the avatars. I understand perfectly now.

So Akari is now an Undine... I don't know exactly why, but I felt so joyful when she told that. It was great to see her slowly progressing to become what she used to dream about. Also, it seems she is a bit more mature, considering the early episodes, despite still being somewhat clumsy.

As an avid worldbuilder, I simply love what they did in the world of Aqua. It is beautifully show among the episodes, there is no rush of content nor information dumps... bits here and there are shown to us, making us "feel" the world, instead of just "visit" it.

Did you watch Origination (final season) instead of Animation? Because I don't remember Akari is becoming an Undine in the first season.

It was a single line she told when she met that lady in the past, about her job. "I am an Undine in Aria Company", or something along those lines, and then she explained about gondoliers and all of that. It happened after she crossed the bridge.

It is possible that there was a mistake in the subtitles, though I would not count on it. If I had not deleted the file on my notebook, I would have checked it out already, paying attention to what they say in japanese. Later I may check it on my pc, where I store the whole series.

Still, she is far from Prima Undine :)

My heart has been cleared from doubts and fear, what a wonderful episode.

Akiko found out that Akari was herself maybe in the future or something like that

Avvenire what a lovely word.

I think I am the only person who finished this anime in one day. It was not boring if I don't count the episode 8. No cute girls no fun. The only people who disliked this anime and say that it's a torture are simply ecchitards or shounentards.

Hm.. It seems that something is going on.. Like maybe Akira is in the past, or something like that..
Wonder, if this woman Akari meets - if it's her ancestor, or someone like that..
And I see some really resembling of our characters people..
It felt as if last episode, to be honest.. Nicely done one..

The previous episodes had some sci-fi stuff. But I wasn't expecting the anime to take the time travel route. I was expecting Akari to at least notice that she met Aika's and Akira's past-selves. Also, I assume the people besides her are Alice's and Athena's relatives?
