this eppy was really good so far as I could tell, I just wish I understood it XDD but I just HAD to watch it cuz I was so excited for it to come out *O*
How long does it usually take for the subs to get out for this series? I picked up this series and finished it up to this point recently, so I'm not too familiar with the fansubs, other than that apparently there's 4 groups at it according to the profile. It's been around a week since the raws came out, right? How long do the subs usually take? Or if they're already out/you know how long subs generally take for this show drop me a message please, thanks. =)
Anyone with over 10 shows ranked at 10/10 clearly needs to re-evaluate their idea of a 'masterpiece'.
I missed the 'Higurashi-feeling' from the first two eps (I liked them as well, but they were kinda too light&happy?), but this one was very good ^^ I still find this dimension interesting. I'm starting to like this doc, though I miss Irie-sensei :D
And Rika with the chair... I felt relived, this world's Satoko annoys me. She was cool when she said 'STFU, you who looks like my best friend!' And I still love her voice actor!
And yay for some more Satoshi! The lack of him always saddens me :(
I have to agree with some others saying that so far the OVA hasn't had the same Higurashi "feel" to it but it is still really good IMO. Rika once again proved how badass she is by handing Satoko her ass and she also has to make the decision to either kill her mother or stay in this world forever... too bad the wait is at least a month for the next DVD.
That was just awesome ,I just can't think that I have to wait a loong time until I see the next one huh that just sucks >.>
Oh god Rika is going to kill her mother ,that should be interesting :D
I'm glad it took the psychotic twist it did in the classroom, I really missed those trademark Higurashi moments. I really can't wait for the next episode :D
I really enjoyed both seasons of Higurashi, but it wasn't until now that I realized how vital a role Keiichi played. To me this show just isn't the same without him. From the preview it looks like he's coming back (thankfully).
If by "Higurashi feel" people mean the first season which was highly repetitive...I'm glad it doesn't feel that way. But I do think that Rei feels like Kai. I personally like the way it's going since the terrible first episode. I never really cared one way or the other for Rika, so this is a nice change of pace to me.
Poor Rika..I hope she doesn't end up killing her mom.
As for satoko..its hilarious how she got beaten up TWICE in the classroom with chairs! Once thanks to Shion and now thanks to Rika xD
Lol, I loved this episode. Especially scene where Rika beeting hell crap out of Satoko. I lol'd. xD And liked each conversation in this episode + all soundtracks fitted atmosphere/scene very well. Bah, need to download Higurashi OST argh.
That episode was simply awesome... It really kinda surprised me when Rika got mad and threw the chair at Satoko. I knew Rika would get angry, but the fact she eventually got so fed up with her to do that?! Either way, I loved it! I love it when Rika get's full on angry (like in episode 8 of Kai... That's one of my most favourite scenes.). It's also good to see mature Rika and drinking her wine again...
Awww! I really want to know what's going to happen in the next ep! *cries*
I'm glad Rika hit Satoko. She was really annoying me in this arc.
It's getting intense. I wonder if Rika really is going to kill her mom...
NikkiKora said: Although I'm AMAZED that Satoshi wasn't more concerned. Back when Shmion beat Satoko with a chair (in-series reference?), Satoshi ran in and was like, "MION STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!!"
Yet this time, he just kinda.. waited outside the door until Rika was finished.
Maybe he just doesn't like when his sister is picked on by OLDER kids. :c Or maybe HE dislikes this world's Satoko's behavior as well. XD
That time, Satoko was also being abused by their uncle at home, so obviously Satoshi got pissed off. Satoshi didn't understand why Shion would randomly hit Satoko.
In this world, Satoko has a normal life at home and Satoshi knows that Rika was being bullied by her.
God, this is why I love Higurashi. I'm anticipating something great next episode.
The scene with Satoko bullying Rika and her snapping was just plain awesome. I was kind of glaring at the screen in disblieve, because it was so out of the blue yet Higurashi-like.
Lookin forward to more :]
When Rika was telling the doctor her story, I knew it wouldn't go well. In his eyes, she's only a child. A child who's probably making up stories to feel special, so she won't feel alone now that her friends have moved away. A comfort, away from Satako. I can see where's my coming from, and I understood why he rang Rika's mother.
But Rika, and us viewers, still felt betrayed all the same.

Well, it's not all bad though. In the end, it was thanks to the doctor telling Rika's mother the story that Rika was able to find out who/what the fragment was.
I liked when Sakoto got beaten with the chair. Will Rika kill her mother and go back to the other world that has Keichii or stay in this world that has her parents and Satoshi?
Finally after waited for a long time, episode 3 came out at last and it was awesome.
Poor Rika, being left out from the class and it seems that Yamamoto doesn't take serious what Rika's says. So Rika's mother is the true reincarnation of Oyashiro-sama ? Will she kill her ?
Higurashi moment is back when that Satoko tries to bully Rika. Rika's anger is great !! Hail Rika-chama !!!
I originally wasn't very thrilled with this episode (outside of the freaking awesome bashing Satoko got). Then comes the last five minutes, and suddenly I can't wait for the next episode. o_o More please. Now. ;_;
You only have been posting once and you asking about Keiichi about the episode 4, nobody is know anything about that one if that isn't have released yet beside why are you thinking Rika going to killed her mother?
That's one of the puzzle but that doesn't proved much there.

Some overthought musings, created by a little too much free time on my day off. Thought I'd copy it from the Hinamizawa Syndrome Ward to the actual episode discussion thread, heh:
Good old Higurashi! Just when you think you have ten different explanations for what happened in the past five minutes....the next five minutes completely throw you on your ear.
Somehow I knew this was going to come down to having to murder somebody, but....I'm still not convinced "the one" is Rika's mother. It's too linear for this show. Rather, I get the feeling that she is this world's Hanyuu, and therefore is purposely keeping Hanyuu away from her territory. Rika herself said that she thinks that when the "other" Rika was hit in the back of the head by that ball from Satoko, she died.
My current musings are as such:
-The Rika of the world Rika is now in was killed inadvertantly by that attack from Satoko. (Or was that Satoko's intent all along?)
-Rika's mother, the Oyashiro-sama of this world, could not bear to be without her daughter. So, she used her awesome godlike powers to search through other realities, and came upon a world where another Rika (our Rika), had just happened to be killed at the exact same moment (by the truck).
-One Oyashiro-sama stole said Rika out from under the nose of another Oyashiro-sama (Hanyuu), used the powers of resurrection we know to exist on her, and trapped her in this "other" world. And now she's blocking Hanyuu's access.
-Rika's going to ultimately have to murder somebody, but her mother is a god, so that's not going to work. Her father is too obvious. If they really wanted to be truly ironic with this story, then I think it's Satoko she's going to have to kill. Her best friend for nearly a century. That act will create a conduit powerful enough for Hanyuu to interrupt the world of Rika's mother, and steal her back away from it.
The only things that aren't adding up are:
-Why was this world's Oyashiro-sama (Rika's mother), unable to resurrect the other Rika?
-Who is this "friend who moved away" that Yamamoto brought up to Rika? Was it Keiichi? Rika is only assuming at this point that Keiichi isn't here -- off the top of my head, I don't see any evidence that she's investigated it.
-Who are Rika's friends, here? It's mostly Rena and Mion I'm worried about. Satoshi seems to be genuine in his desire to befriend Rika, but the other two seem as though they might be going through the motions. Then, out of nowhere, Rena starts talking about Rika's "other world", as though she was ready to trust all of Rika's story, out of the blue. And she states that they'll try to help her go back to it. Then, Rena changes her story to a smile and a statement that what she really meant was, that they would all help her to feel at home in this world, by creating a game club. Mion doesn't like Rika, Satoko doesn't like Rika, and Rena is teetering on the brink. Perhaps they have plans to do away with her?
-Was it wise to trust Dr. Yamamoto? From his vantage point and considering the past of the Rika of his world, he has every reason to assume that Rika is merely a disturbed child. Rika might have ended up screwing herself over, if the good doctor decides to call in a psychiatrist.
As far as what world Rika is going to choose? I say it has to be her original one. There's one extremely important hint the show gave us, that Rika missed. When Rika was walking home with Rena, Rena showed a split-second evil grimace for no reason. Rika has completely forgotten to consider Hinamizawa Syndrome. Just because Takano isn't there, doesn't mean the disease doesn't exist in this world. If Rika stays in the "other" world, eventually, Hinamizawa will be destroyed. All the people will move away, and will subsequently go insane from lack of being near the Queen Carrier. So, this world will be even worse, for her. In the past, Rika was always murdered the night before the village was cleansed, so she never had to deal with the anguish of watching everybody she knew be killed. This time, she'll live, and everybody she ever cared about will be scattered throughout Japan, each meeting their doom in different ways, much like in Onisarashi-hen.
Dissection is so much fun. But then, knowing Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, the next episode will throw so many cogs into the works, everything anybody thinks they know up to this point will end up being wrong ^^;;;
