Anime made me do a 180, from someone who was introverted, depressed, and useless to someone who was extraverted, optimistic and useful because of the lessons anime taught me, the people it introduced me to, and giving me a hobby to care about and be proud of.

Anime for me was basically the small snowball I rolled down a hill and ended up becoming a massive snowball, so yes it made me change a lot.

Did it affect your personality like hobbies for example

Yea, it ended up with me getting my diploma and eventually going off to college, and making a few friends to talk to, some of which ended up sending me anime gifts like this Irisviel Von Einzbern figurine Im looking at now.

And cosplay cat ears cause why not.

Yes, I realised how shitty reality is
I realised how girls around my area are two-faced or have no quality of life
I realised how society is shit and how sadly people are manipulated into thinking this is the right way to live (this has happened to my best friend)

I kinda of wish I lived in an anime, preferably Space Dandy or Mikakunin de Shinkoukei
It's harder than it seems, I'm under water in my dreams
I'm in awe, this jigsaw, puzzles not complete
I'm just an idea, nothing concrete

I would say yes, Clannad Afterstory basically killed the pervert side of me and taught me how much females deserve respect 24/7. and well, i copied a bit of the personality of the dreamy guys like Kazehaya from Kimi ni Todeke. It's really healthy imo. They are indeed nice

That's basically how it went for me. But for me it was a mix of Clannad, Clannad After Story, Kanon (2006), and Oreimo. I can't even get in the mood to, you know. It makes me feel ashamed now.

I wouldn't either, my friends weren't the nicest of people, especially as I was kind of different from the rest of them. It allowed me to make friends with the same interest too though.

Yes. Clannad taught me that women are all one-dimensional maidens in distress that need a man in their lives to dominate their personal narratives. It confirmed what I learned from porn.

To-Love-Ru taught me that sexual assault is always the fault of the victim, and when presented with the dilemma of choosing between a woman who is throwing herself at you and the girl you truly love, you can just have both and they'll deal with it.

Who knows.. I was lucky enough to have an older brother, so I was watching anime such as Wicked City, Doomed Megalopolis and Genocyber from a very young age. No doubt that it's had some sort of influence on me, and help shape my personality... :P

Beavis, I thought you were one to avoid conflict

I don't remember if I replied to this thread before, but anime didn't change shit and probably made me a little more introverted.

it kindof did, but in a good way i think.

it inspired me to start drawing again, because for a long time i stopped drawing.
also i was depressed allot, and anime made me happier, and gave me something to talk about with friends.
which i also met friends who like anime too, and i think it would've been difficult to meet them, had i not started watching anime

If you mean just that last part then my answer is I'm just a passionate guy who likes metaphors~

If it's about the first part then I don't see how it's cheesy.

It caused me to basically stop watching regular TV.

same. the only TV show that I have watched in the past 3-4 years is Legend of Korra. I couldn't name a single character on the Walking Dead or Breaking Bad.

Also, anime has given me more motivation for things. Sometimes it gives me unrealistic motivation, but nonetheless, it still motivates me. For instance, can I really compare running a mile to the physical disabilities that Ed and Al got from FMA? no. But tat inspires me all the more, and makes me think, "If they could do that, I can run this mile."

Maybe some of them gave me valuable lessons but I don't think I changed because of that.
There's no such thing as a painless lesson.
They just don't exist. Sacrifices are necessary.
You can't gain anything without losing something first.
Although if you can endure that pain and walk away from it,
you'll find that you now have a heart strong enough to overcome any obstacle.
Yeah, a heart made fullmetal.

I feel a sense of superiority over the morons around me that talk about regular (shitty) TV shows

I heard some morons talking about some show called "awkward" and another called "sherlock" - these shows sound like complete shit and I refuse to ever watch them because of that

That is what I gained from anime.

My mentality of society has become much more darker and cynical, especially after watching thought provoking anime. I realized that there is no fine line between good and bad. I have become more into psychology and philosophy, but I have also become more of a procrastinator than ever.

Anime used to change me in a good way when I was younger. Now, anime doesn't affect my social life anymore and I've returned the bastard I used to be before anime changed me. I'm pretty sure it's not because of anime, but rather because of those silly people.

Yes it did.

It made me understand human emotion and relationships with others whether they be a friend or a significant other a lot better as well as learning to take responsibility for my own actions and becoming a more likable person by using my own gifts as redeeming qualities. Some shows I watched in 2010-11 really did that trick and while it hurt me a bit at first to see people fall down, learning that good people at heart deserving a second chance is something I could apply to a dark time in my own life. As cheesy as this sounds, I was an emotional wreck at the time. And long story short, I rose above and conquered. Anime did play a role in this process. I will not specify which shows helped me do this. There's no need to have people criticize a past one does not know of. They need to be in my shoes from that time to fully understand what these shows which I will not name meant to me.
