Hello yeah for Wataru Watari and Ponkan8 (whom Wataru calls a god in his atogaki) in OreGairu !!! But I wish Kokoro Connect and Sakurasou were higher. I know they ended which apparently hurts your rankings badly even when they end so well. And odd that Monogatari isn't listed but a couple of their characters made the top 30's. They are not bunko so not light novels technically so they don't qualify or they just didn't rank? But their characters did somehow? I know I shouldn't get caught up in magazine poll rankings but still, oddly inconsistent. |

Thus Gagaga Bunko ended three years of hegemony at top by Dengeki Bunko.... Time to check the likeliest candidates to get anime adaptation: *1. Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. (Oregairu) *2. Tenkyou no Alderamin - Nejimaki Seirei Senki *3. Toaru Majutsu no Index (Index) *4. Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka *5. Sword Art Online (SAO) *6. Hataraku Maou-sama! (Maou-sama) *7. Tokyo Ravens *8. Rokka no Yuusha *9. Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo) 10. No Game No Life I guess if the two female characters had not split votes, Railgun would not have kept her no.1... Now it is even more difficult to see how Railgun could ever be dislodged from forever #1 (5 years so far) as long as the LN still goes on.... hpulley said: If Senjougahara is in the female character list, I would expect that the novel should also be eligible. Yes indeed I find it puzzling too...That said, I think Kono LN ga Sugoi is more than just a simple magazine poll rankings. Its methodology encompasses readers, industry people, and opinion leaders from outside the industry (like ordinary literary critics). In fact, the book is a survey onto itself and is not derived from any survey conducted by a magazine. And odd that Monogatari isn't listed but a couple of their characters made the top 30's. They are not bunko so not light novels technically so they don't qualify or they just didn't rank? But their characters did somehow? So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old? I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

Misaka continues to dominate the female character rankings for the 5th straight year. She's like the Kira Yamato of the Newtype polls. Index placing 5th despite appearing only(and finally) in NT8 is kind of a surprise. And despite the crowd favorite, no Sena in the top 30 but Yozora in the top 10. This should raise some objections and complaints I guess. TouMAN lost to HachiMAN. Accel and Kirito still there. And Izayoi ranking is a nice surprise. And I'm betting those illustrations of Misaki and Othinus from NT7 and NT8 are what propelled Haimura to the top spot. I was hoping Mahouka's illustrator would rank with 4 volumes out this year as samples and all having great illustrations but I guess not. Congrats nonetheless to Oregairu for topping this year. Dungeon, TR and Alderamin are the big surprises for this year. Will check out the latter sometime. |

Yes, Toaru dominating! Guessing there will be a 3rd season soon, huh? :) Wow best of 10 years, I am surprised to see Baka to Test and Spice & Wolf on the list, that bring back memories, they're both very good! I am still waiting for the 3rd season of Baka to Test and Spice & Wolf!! Darn shame they'll probably never get one. blame MOE So glad that the LN artist of Black Bullet got ranked, Black Bullet is good so far. |

^^^ Araragi Koyomi did better than Senjougahara at #26, he got #11, just outside the top ten. Was it because Koyomimonogatari was the only book out before they polled? Owarimonogatari just came out. Because Koyomimonogatari was 12 short stories? It still sold very well and was well written IMO. I dunno... |

What do we get recently? School club activities-related anime adaption. Edit: with stereotype characters that's pretty much one dimensional |

Glad Tatsuya and Miyuki (up 11 spots from last year!) got some love. The Shibas are coming, bow down or lay down! Tatsuya went down a spot but he'll be fine, like the damn boss he is. Am I the only one slightly surprised to see Ben-To #7 best of Ten years? I always enjoyed the LN, never thought it was overly special though. Maybe I'm missing something. What the hell happened to Sena? Is it what has transpired recently in the novel that caused her to not get the ranking so she richly deserves!? Yozora, go away. Misaka Nation stand up, the goddess has her throne still. Asuna! Yesssss. Can't believe how popular Shino is though. |
