| I smile at anybody I happen to make eye contact with. It's just polite, and diffuses the awkwardness of locking eyes with a stranger. Also, people like having their existence acknowledged. |

| Maybe they were trying to approach you, the very first step is to smile at them. Smile and receive a smile back. There's a chance she may stop what she is doing and start a conversation with you. If so, it's your opportunity. Confidence is the main contributor of success here. Try and make some small talk with her, something she can relate to and easily respond with an answer to. For example, if you're out on the street on a hot, summer day, and a girl smiles at you, you can initiate the conversation with "The weather's really nice today ^^" is a common one, but you can use any opener, it all depends on the situation. Then afterwards just talk to her like you would to any other human being, try to say something witty/funny, it'll break the ice a bit better, but it's okay if you can't think of anything. Ask questions like, how was your day? Talk a bit about yourself as well, plans for the day, etc. (the point is that you need to break the sheet of ice around each other) After talking for a bit, and you think things have been going well so far, try and ask for her name, and her number. If she gives you it, then SUCESS, but if she doesn't then "on to the next one, this is a numbers games so don't get discouraged but one girl." Advice for picking up girls 101 with danielcook I've tried this method a couple times, usually starting off with opening the door for her with a smile, it is really effective, I opened up the door for her and talked to her while keeping the pace at the direction she is walking. |

| Because Happiness is infectious. I love smiling at other people and I love it even more when they smile back. Its kind of a silent agreement that both of your lives are pretty fucking awesome. Even if its not, it still lifts my mood. |
