So technically she is not immortal, only her time was frozen so she could hunt the Shinma that escaped the Dark. With that smile of hers at the end, I think she meant "Screw releasing my parent's seal, I get to spend a long, long time with my love and servant, Larva!" LOL

It turns out Himiko is already a vampire, she hasn't waken yet after years of being bitten by Miyu, and now... (make a knowing smile, insert maniacal laughter in the background)

I got entertained watching it so at least I'll give the series 6/10.

Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.

Found this episode considerably more compelling than all the previous present-day ones; their stories were ok but the execution seemed off. The "twist" here was really good as well. Shame the series didn't start with a story like this...

Can't fault the art in this show, it's quite excellent.

Pretty interesting ending, I'm up for what the TV series has to offer as this 4 episodes sure had some interesting concepts for each episode and an overall nice setting! All in all a pretty good OVA series!

This Anime was okay, but a little bit on the depressing side. Great art and animation though.

It's hard to say if I'll watch the TV series or not.

anime was entertaining, great art and nice twist to end the OVA. I might aswell watch the TV series. 6/10 can't give higher but it's remarkable for such an old series and the fact it was this short

Wow, an awesome twist at the end and very eerie. I've had nightmares about vampires before myself. I'm definitely gonna watch the TV series now. This was a great OVA series, though sometimes the dialogue seemed very strange (maybe a fault of the dub). I loved the musick and art especially.

That was a pretty solid ending. I wonder if the 1997 version will be able to properly stack up to the level of atmosphere in this one.
That ending was definitely quite the twist.

I liked this episode. Glad we got the backstory and the "twist" at the end - although I'm not 100% clear on it. Do we know why Himiko hasn't awoken yet as a Vampire? Was that explained and I missed it?

So it's been a mixed bag overall. Episode 2 was definitely my favourite one, it was the creepiest and the most surreal. I'll echo what's been said above, the visuals are great. I can't go higher than a 6/10 but it's almost a 7/10. Not bad for the first (and currently only) horror tagged anime I've seen.

So Miyu's "sorrow" that Larva mentioned in the previous episode is explained here. His loyalty to her makes more sense now. If it weren't for him and her parents, Miyu wouldn't have escaped her vampire baptism.

And thank you, OP, for explaining the ending, because it went right over my head. Lol.

I'm intrigued enough by the groundwork that's been laid in the OVA to check out the 90's series. Here's hoping the atmosphere is just as good.

I couldn't make it through this episode, too boring, so I guess I missed the twist. Oh well, I thought the series was uninteresting and unfocused overall. Kinda nonsensical too, with a sad yet playful mood that was handled very poorly. So, yeah, I didn't like it.

Big flashback episode that explained Miyu's past. The frozen time thing is an interesting element, I like how this story pulls off its twists. I feel like this anime overall has some interesting themes going on, but unfortunately it's kinda on the sluggish side :( I'd give it a 6/10

this ova is so dramatic i can't lmao
i started watching this before actually watching the full on series, and i admit that i kinda enjoyed this.
the pacing was strange, but then again it's an OVA and there was probably a lot we were going to miss any way.

It was without a shadow of doubt a tragic past. I hoped in the TV series her family is unsealed and she is human again.
