| Gyro's backstory... Geez. I felt so bad for him. And poor Ponzo and Pokkle. ;______; They were really nice characters. I was hoping to see more of them, but ;-; Killua killing somebody again... FINALLY. Oh, and using his special hand. |

She was cool during the exam arc because she actually seemed like she had somewhat of a head on her sholders back then, but ever since her re appearance in chimaera arc she's just been relegated to a damsel in distress who can't think or act on her own and is always waiting for the arrow guy to do something. Fucking fail on her part, I've got no feelings to spare for her. |

| I actually did like this ep. Author isn't afraid to get rid of characters he's made worthless. But yeah the series is good so far imo. |

The last time we heard about him before this was he struggled with Ren. Well the same can be said with Gon and Killua, if not because of plot progression, they also will die in Yorkshin, they are the lucky ones. |

| Forgot to praise it before and it needs more praise, so have to add how stunning Gyro's backstory was. The shadow silhouette and hatch shading was visually stunning and communicative, but more than that, it was a damn good piece of writing. "He'd never been told to leave," "his father was his god," "I must not be human then" - all of it was horrible and realistic and thoughtful. It wasn't necessary but Togashi's storytelling quirks are part of what makes this series a standout. |

| Wow this show has suddenly taken a very dark turn. Completely expected Ponzu to reach Gon and everyone goes back to save Pokkle. Got denied instantly lol. So now the ants have Nen abilities? This isn't looking good. |

| This arc is looking to be great, I can see why a lot of people were anticipating it! The Gyro flashback was sad, and then it was followed by Pokkle getting taken away and Ponzu getting eaten, all aboard the feels train.. |

| Man, Ponzu got eaten :( RIP. At least she wasn't alive when it happened. Wonder if Pokkle will survive? What was all that shit about Gyro though? 1/4 of an episode backstory to "seemingly" kill him off? He'll probably get turned into a Chimera. It looks like that Colt guy is starting to remember some stuff from when he was a human so maybe there's more to this weird animal+ant+human hybrid shit. |

| I enjoyed that black and white art style. That story really hit me, usually ones with depressing childhoods involving terrible fathers. |

| @MistyBlue Thats a good point, but I think hes presumed dead and I dont think he was eaten by the Queen as those 3 ants were not following the Queens orders (If I remember correctly). I'm on episode 119 now so I can't really say anything else about it without spoiling it for you |
| My goodness! I only watched the HxH 1999 version because of Ponzu. No matter how irrelevant her character is. After Leorio snatch her card, she doesn't appear anymore. And I watched it til Genei Ryodan arc. Years later, then Greed Island arc. What a waste of time. After the author took over a decade to come up with that Chimera Ant, she appear out of nowhere again much to my excitement just to die HAHAHAHAHAHA! I loved her death though. Whats new? My favorite characters always die anyway. Don't worry Ponzu. We will make a manga that you will be the main character and you can maintain your weak state. We will fed Leorio to the ants. Let me handle your weakness and will use Gon and Killua as shield. You will still die in the end. Because even with Deus ex Machina, it will be too hard for a weak character like you to survive anyway. We will be faithful for Kurapika's covenant and limit his chains to spider. Though we know there are lots of insects. And those spiders appears to be humans after all. |

| Dang that hurts. That hurts. Gyro's backstory, Ponzu's death... Well in an interview it's said that Togashi actually like to see movies that kill off all their characters so I'm not sure he regards the fans' emotional investment on a character though :/ |
| For such reasons, a big franchise has dozens of parallel universes in which your beloved characters survive (take the Fate series, for example). So don't mourn, people! Just imagine another universe in which Pokkle and Ponzu survived and became a couple. |

| holy fuck ..wow was not expecting that. Ponzu dies and body gets shredded up and eaten. She did well to get the message out at least could save a lot of lives. The nen arrows guy was doing pretty decent but unfortunate he ran into a couple of the higher level Chimera Ants look like he got captured. Right now its obviious some of the higher level ants are going to inherit and/or be able to learn nen now , that spider guy is so observant and can even see auras . Oh boy. What is really interesting is that its been increasingly shown that these Chimera Ants based off of whatever human was captured, seem to be retaining at least fragments of memories and probably personality traits of their former lives, creepy but intriguing. That being said this arc is really well executed so far in my opinion. Sucks that its such a one sided slaughter so far, hopefully Gon and company can rectify that |
