I like manga much better. It's hard to find time to sit down and watch anime, so reading a few chapters whenever I'm on the Internet is a lot more convenient.

Manga. Because:
1) It is the original thing. Most of the anime are adapted from manga. So, its story and plot is better developed.
2) Its faster and convenient to read. I can read manga for hours, 30-40 chapters at a time, but I can not watch more than 2-3 episodes of an anime at a time.
3) The art is better in manga. Although people say that anime are colored so they look better but I personally appreciate the art in manga more. I've read many manga just because of their beautiful art (Afro Samurai, to name one) but I don't remember watching an anime for its art.
4) I can take manga on my Kindle anywhere I go but not anime.

For me, it depends on the genre.
I prefer manga for shoujo and anime for shounen.

I prefer anime, watching on tv or in my bed is really fun and relaxing. But since I bought a tablet I started to read a lot more manga because is a lot better than reading on the PC.

Manga, because:

-- it contains the original plot; no fillers
-- you'll know how talented the author/illustrator (if that manga is good)

I like to experience any narrative in their original medium. So for Kingdom Hearts I'd rather play the game first before reading the manga. Manga's usually get adapted into anime's, so I generally read the manga's first. Toriko might have bee the only one I did in the reverse order for no adequately explained reason lol.
It's also less time consuming.

Same here, the stories in manga are usually better written though I may be biased.

both. mangas have a larger pool so its easier to find things that i enjoy since i tend to have obscure taste from time to time. but i'd prefer to watch an anime, for obvious reasons.

Manga is naturally much more convenient than anime, and sometimes I find myself really enjoying reading manga, perhaps more than anime. I'm more drawn to anime though because then you can just sit there and chill while watching instead turning the page because that is a hassle right?

Depends on the company doing the anime and how long the series is gonna run for cause every now and then you get some one who screws up a really great story from the manga and give us anime crap two examples i can think of off the top of my head are (Rosario Vampire & Maken-Ki) as well as Naruto/Shippuden this series was ruined for me because there too many god damn fillers once you get rid of one another on pops up AHHHH!! Annoying.

Anyway i'd most probably lean more towards Manga { 70% manga & 30% anime }

I've only been into reading manga for a few months now and it's rapidly growing on me. When I see an anime that interest me, I search to see if it has a manga first. If it does, I start reading and then get to the anime later if I like the series.

Quite recent I started to find that manga is (a lot) more interesting than the anime, because of various reasons: the story is much better, i can read it at my own pace and i can see what's in the author's mind. For me it's like the perfect compromise between a watching a TV show and reading a novel.

What I do is watch the anime first. If I liked it and can't wait for the next episode to know the story or if the ending of the anime is such a cliffhanger or if I want to know what the hell really happened in the story then I'll read the manga. But I do read mangas most of the time because it's more convenient than watching.
... =_=

Manga because I like detailed artwork and somehow I find it easier to find stuff with deep story, which I enjoy a lot. However that does not mean I'll read the manga first and then watch its adaptation. I like manga more, but I watch anime with more frequency because I get tired of reading after a while.

It depends on the genre.

For action, I prefer anime. I like watching battle moves that actually "move" because they are astonishing. In manga, the battles are static and often confusing.

For psychological/thriller, I like manga because they usually have more blood in them. They sometimes deduct the violence in anime due to censorship.

I prefer manga. With anime you're usually forced to look at how someone other than you interprets the manga counterpart and that usually never is how you interpreted it. At least with manga I'll be on a second degree level of interpretation - the first being the mangaka him/herself.

It is hard to decide because each have their negatives and positives. Anime is full of filler arcs and manga is only drawn pictures in black and white. So you decide what you like.

I think it depends: I liked "Mushishi" and "House of Five Leaves" as anime better, on the other hand I think "Emma" and "Blade of the Immortal" lost something when they got animated.

I definitely prefer manga over anime. Specially when it come to manga being adapted to anime. It's probably because some things are lost in the anime due to various reasons (censorship for example). A good example is Ichigo Mashimaro. In the anime she's a college student or along those lines. However, in the manga she's a 1st or 2nd year high schooler. Can't have minors smoking on TV now can we? ;)
Anyway, there are a few anime adaptations I like more than the manga. One example is K-ON!. Even if the manga's good I enjoy the anime far more.

Sometimes the Anime doesn't stay true to the plot and doesn't go as long as the manga. Although reading the opposite way can confuse me sometimes. :/

I choose anime.
It's more interesting to see people are moving and voiced along with epic BGMs.

I'd say it really does depend with some series; there are pros and cons to each. However, I've noticed lately (over the past several months or so) that I seem to be coming around to enjoying manga more. It's not a landslide win, but yeah. There's just something about reading manga.. And it tends to be better than it's anime counterpart (if an adaptation is made). More time is spent on characters/development/etc. Books tend to be better than the movies, etc. etc.

It is because this is a manga board. There are a lot of anime watchers who never read manga, including myself until a year ago or so. The same isn't true for manga readers though, as most of them do watch anime. Also, you should get the anime ost ready when reading (providing it is good). It definitely boosts the experience and hey, why not do it if you can?

Anime. I already read a lot of books, so I like to alternate between reading and watching anime. Nothing against a good manga though, being able to choose your own pace is always nice. Anime just adds sound, colour and movement. This makes it a bit tricky to get it all right, but when that happens an anime exceeds anything a manga can offer for me.

Well, like many others, it depends for me. In my eyes, they are both equal since they have their pros and cons. If the anime is badly adapted, or just bad in general, I'll jump over to the manga. But, sometimes I just prefer to watch anime since it takes longer to watch it then to read a chapter in the manga, and vice-versa.

I prefer manga. I think the mangaka often have more freedom in their writing and art style than an anime would get. (And seeing as there's thousands of mangas in existence, there's a good percent of it all that's really original and interesting work.) I also enjoy being able to read something at my pace, rather than being forced to sit through x amount of minutes for x amount of plot.

That said, sometimes I will enjoy the anime more than the manga of a series. It all depends on how the story is presented.

and some anime go way off the story which pis*es me off..

on the other hand when talking about romance (like sukitte ii na yo) or shoujo i prefer the manga cause im used to read it with my own flow especially when i like a scene

I don't like reading that much, and I enjoy colour. If I found a really colorful manga that offered those old choose your own adventure books options, then maybe.
