| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Hard to rate without subs and no physical characters to base a guess of the meaning of their narration on, but enjoyable nonetheless. Based on the visuals alone I'd rate it high, must be a great watch on a big screen. Obviously helps if you've seen Night on the Galactic Railroad (or read the book). |

| I liked this as an animation, but not as a movie, as much. Really great animation, masterful music (SO BEAUTIFUL OK) and it's a good story too. But as a movie, it does not have any character development (lol) or a moving plot because most of it was imagery and scenery. Anyway, beautiful stuff. I read the book before the movie, so I kind of understood it better. A bit disappointed that they skipped my favourite chapter (From the New World) and others...But oh well. I'm gonna watch the other Milky adaption (1hr45min) soon. |

| How?How can a movie where I don't understand most of it(I've read the book long ago but without subs it was...ergh) bring up such emotions. I guess this is why I love animation,it can "speak to you" through the visuals and sound with artistic beauty.While you maybe won't understand it,you'll feel it. Beautiful movie for dreamers,makes me feel at ease. |

| Unironically this made me feel sleepy from boredom. 5/10 overall. Animation was poor by 2006 standards, music was okay; story was alright, with a better pacing than the 1985 movie but I feel the former being better as an anime in general. Sure, this was a nice approach to the story, which some people might find this good, but I am not one of them.  Also these look like this was made in 1998 and not in 2006 |
