It's over sad to see it come to an end. Way to short
Oh well still got the movie coming out
4/5 for this episode 9/10 for the series would given it 8 if it wasn't for Shinobu adult figure in the last episode kinda what we could expect to come in the upcoming movie

The episode itself was not bad but short on some aspects or it seemed like it was a little slow. That paid off with major explanation and the fight. I have to admit I would like to say a big FUCK YOU to Araragi for the following,

and in the spoiler
You kiss you own sister like that as means to find out if your dick is hard and your feel sexual towards as an end to confirm if she is some immortal monster or there is still some of her soul and be gone of its stress? Really? Well I HATE you and your stupid sexual shit. Araragi has got good points, I won’t deny that but his sexuality is so fucked up that it’s beyond reasoning. I don’t blame him nor society of it. Just Shinobu making him like that and such a bitch she is to me due to that but she herself due to her vampire race was not able to resist her urges as well.

Real Reason I hate Shinobu

This is to clear up the misunderstanding. The real reason I hate her is in the spoiler
apart from the loli fan service. That fucking bite! Always that bite! Always that shit. No matter what vampire movie or series it’s always a RAGING THRILL towards that. I guess it’s more fun than frustrating in blowing off some steam so they say. Seriously this is the main reason of why I hate Shinobu, all vampires and in general fan service associated with them. You must be fucking crazy to enjoy any of that biting and sensation but I do respect choices and people’s fetishes of this. Hence you got guts to love this shit. I cringe hard at it! Nice end to a nice series. Will edit later

BTW GIFs are done in the club:
http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=414877
among them the kiss part is done for its fans.

Image Stitches done in the spoiler
one for Shinobu fans and one of Hitagi that is now perfect!

I can't complain, I saw this coming- SHAFT always has poor budgeting. Still a great series overall, and the ending was better than expected frankly.

Looking forward to more shinobu than Senjougahara in this year's Kizumonogatari.

You guys can't honestly claim you were 'trolled' out of a good ending? It's SHAFT, come on. They're charmingly annoying like that.

lol i knew they where going to pull this shit again... really hoping to see more of this story later

Story was ok, lots of service and nonesense. tbh only 2 eventful episodes. 8/10

I'm at a lost on why Hitagi cut her hair (on anime tend to be because of some issue with romance but shit seemed to be going fine with her... maybe that what she ask of him and to have sex at the end of the 1st arc of this show)... Shinobo look adorable as a grown up. Really hoping to watch more of this in the movie.
huh?

A good ending to the series and it actually wraps things up nicely. I don't understand what people are complaining about. If Shaft releases any extra chapters, it'll probably be some filler stuff.

Not as good as Bakemonogatari though. But luckily they have several more novels to animate and might still get the chance to top it.

Looking forward to Kizumonogatari. That's going to be very different in tone and style to Nise.

Teen Shinobu is really hot, actually Shinobu in any age/size is hot. Btw i still cant believe they manage to end the arc with this episode when Tsukihi only made minimum appearance throughout her arc.

Well im guessing the "continue" either means an extra in the blu ray or the Nekomonogatari. Still cant wait, and i seriously mean CANT WAIT for Shaft to animate the rest of the monogatari series. Wonder how many years that is gonna take, but i'll wait patiently.

feel exactly the same
i think this final was perfect, 10/10 for me

LMAO! I totally knew I'd see a shitload of epic screams on these boards when i saw Senjougahara at the end. I had to take a double take myself. For a second she looked a bit like Kanbaru. I don't know. sure, i like long flowing hair. But i guess right now shorter hair is the "in" thing in Japan. As long as her personality is there it's all that matters.

Shinobu's second form is sweet as hell. As much as loli Shinobu was cute, her new current form is more "sexy" and i then could actually enjoy seeing her naked instead of wincing while saying "I'm watching for the dialogue" repeatedly.

Araragi doing his "i'm going to let you beat me up while bore you to death with my epic speech" routine was amusing. Especially when Shinobu is trying to keep a straight face when holding him up. funny stuff.

I don't get Japan and their "'I hate you,' but you mean a lot to me"" thing. So like if you aren't going to have sex with someone you tell them you hate them or something? Concept seems different to me. Like in the US there's various levels of Love. So i could say i love my sister. It doesn't mean i want to stick my dick in her. She's just family and a good friend. It's almost the opposite. In the US when your willing to say you hate someone it really means "i can't stand you stay away from me"

wow, it's already over ;/

koyomi got F*CKED UP during the fight lol, but his speech about his sisters and family was epic

also, im still VERY disappointed at the lack of senjougahara...

she got like a total of 15 seconds throughout the WHOLE episode, and she didn't even get to talk.
(still liked the beach scene at the very end though, just wished it couldve lasted a LOT longer)

cant wait for the rest of the monogatari series now!!! :D

Wow, what a way to end this off. During the gory parts of Kagenui literally beating the SHIT out of Araragi, I had to turn my head away from the screen at some points. Blegh. Anyways, I was bothered by just how much Kagenui sounded like Onizuka Hime from SKET Dance! I mean, they have the same voice actors, but still.

Anyways, this episode was a wonderful ending to Nisemonogatari. Tsukihi Phoenix was much, much better than Karen Bee in my opinion.

Lastly, WHY DID GAHARA-SAN CUT HER HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First Hanekawa, then Karen, now Gahara-san.

Oh, and one more thing, Shinobu was extremely badass this episode. Can't wait to watch Kizumonogatari!

About Kagenui's blabber about philosophy. Both of those chinese philosophers that Kagenui mentioned are Confucianist. Confucius, just laid out teachings for social order but didn't ponder on human nature so there was a dichotomy, or a division between 2 school of thought that interpret the nature of man, Mencius and Shun Tzu; the former believes that there is an inherent goodness among us but because of external factors, we are influence and eventually become evil, thus, we need education to nurture the four seeds, namely: Compassion, Shame, Respect, Knowledge of Right and Wrong. On the other hand, the later believes that all men are evil in nature and that we don't have 4 seeds in us, however, he believes that it is also education(environment and those who learn from it) that can make us good for with education we realize our true nature and we are able to correct it, and to finally, to do away with it.

Overall, Mencius think that men are naturally inclined to do good, but Shun Tzu argues that men are evil, and goodness is a conscious activity derived from learning our evil nature because it is the way to relate with others.

Well, that's just my interpretation about those 2 - to each his own.

You can find out more:

compare and enrich upon both info.

Essentially my take in it is that the reasoning of the fake being worth more due its efforts in mimicking the real are questionable for each person. You can value your fake as much I value my real but in thee end the composition is what really matters. Kaiki omitted that on purpose to focus on the one aspect of feelings/attachment. In other words Kaiki explained the concept of being "xxxHolic" one of valuing objects and the level of being attached to them. Which is interesting on its own.

Overall this series was pretty enjoyable ^^. The close to incest moments were really funny and added a nice touch. Seeing Shinobu in her (semi) adult form was also a nice addition.

I don't know why I haven't though about this up til now, but how strong is Koyomi exactly? Every fight up til now he's gotten the crap beaten out of him >_>

Great conclusion, it was Platinum good. XD

The dialogue is usually great but this episode outdid itself, I couldn't ask for more.

... But why is everyone cutting their hair? is it due to Koyomi's tastes... well I don't agree with those. I hope the author at least lets Shinobu keep her gorgeous long blonde hair...

Anyway, I'll definitely be keeping an eye for the next installments.

Ha, thought the same and with the same conclusion, I'm giving this a 9 too.

I would have given it a 10 if it hadn't been so fanservice heavy... Don't get me wrong, it was "nicely" done and I don't particularly dislike it, but it does take screen time that could be used otherwise and it can also be quite distracting.

The whole anime was splendidly done. While there was a tid bit more focus on the ecchi part, the dialogues had been as good as Bakemonogatari. The kiss didn't seem to carry any malice in it, but it was still Tsukihi's first kiss. So it might have been pretty awful for her, but then again, if we just take that as a kiss shared between two, who love each other for being their family with no sexual desire behind it, it might seem pure and sweet.

Loved the anime through and through. Both Tsukihi and Karen are adorable little sisters any brother would cherish to have in their family.

Senjougahara in the end with short hair was T_T
But I love her anyways for what she is, her personality mainly. So, it wasn't that depressing like many of her fans felt like.

9/10 and probably will remain one of the best anime of 2012, despite the year isn't even into it's Q2 shows.

Cannot wait for the rest of the monogatari series to be animated. They better keep their promise or I will be sad. :'(

Loved "older" Shinobu in this ep, but why the hell do they have to ruin Senjougahara like that!? They already ruined Hanekawa's hair (though that was standable since I just don't like her), but Senjougahara is awesome with long hair so they really, really did a bad move by cutting her hair. Oh well, I just hope that it'll grow out in some sequel.

Great episode and a great conclusion of the series. I give the anime as a whole 10/10 but Bakemonogatari still was a little better.

Anyway I love the teen version of Shinobu cause she was awfully hot and cool. And the fight with Araragi was pretty good aswell, and the dialogues are great as usual.

And I think Senjougahara still looks pretty good in short hair even though it was a better when she had long hair.

...What a !@#$ing hypocrite. She is just so full of shit. Those words should have been about herself rather than Araragi. "don't force your ideals onto other people"? That's exactly what she has been doing from the start.

From what I hear there are fifteen novels, and shaft plans to animate them all. In other words, we'll have a lot more monogatari to watch(bake and nise are the first two, there are still neko, etc. so no prequels yet probably except kizu).

Haha, I really enjoyed this episode, here's why:

-Koyomi got his ass kicked, BIG TIME!
-Teen Shinobu is a freakin' hottie
-Koyomi kissing his sister (Wincest FTW!)
-The reveal that Oshino, Kaiki, Yozuru were friends back in college ( -monogatari just blew my mind!)

Although I still think that Bakemonogatari was a little bit better, the sequel was highly entertaining nonetheless !

I really liked how they wraped up the story here. Fight scene was well made and fitted with the big amount of dialogue we got during it. Great to learn more and more about these characters, i really want to see more Monogatari series animated. Can't wait for Kizumono already.

Those bgms at the beginning and when Koyomi was talking with Tsukihi near the end were masterpieces, need OST nao.

One thing i don't really approve of, Senjougara's haircut. (Some novel spoilers ahead)
