I think the internet with free stuff all around helps for them in some manner. Plus this thread was opened just to know what the predictions of the people here are. People here have been watching anime since many years (atleast from what i have seen they have watched more than i have) So I dont get what's weird in asking? |

YY will get second season, this will not - unless they are doing to boost manga sales than maybe. and no saying that this was amazing series will change this - BTW and I admit it was nice if you cut parts with Arata. |
| Sadly, I don't think it will. I agree with everyone here who is frustrated with silly series that get at least 2+ seasons and something sweet and charming like Chihayafuru doesn't. |

| Well, I really don't think that those who aren't bying the manga or the DVDs have any right to complain. I'm one of the ones who are penniles, I don't have enough money to buy myself a lollipop, what to talk about a DVD, but a good chunk of non-Japanese Chihayafuru watchers DO have money, they are just too stingy to spend it :/ So, yeah... I don't think we have the right to complain. Those who have bought the DVDs can, but everybody else... |

I'm not much of a (manga) reader and I don't really buy stuff like anime/movies/tvseries, because I am not interested in having a box with a bunch of CD-roms and whatnot. I tend to watch shows only once and especially don't care for the shipping costs, marketing and tax, etc. |

| Will be a shame if this series will not have a second season! I mean, removing the sales part and other things, this series has had great success with the public overall, at least in Occident, and in Japan the manga sales has reached the top place! 95% of the people here have enjoyed Chihayafuru. Well I can say not bad for a Josei anime. |

| I liked it, but it just can't live without a second season. There would be just so much left unfinished and even in the last episode they introduced a new character (The current Master). Of course there will always be the manga to continue the story, but a lot of people just watch anime (even though I'm not one of them)and would miss a lot, because there is no real satisfying conclusion. |

| I had been quite confident that Chihayafuru would be returning for a 2nd season. My reasoning? From what I had heard, the main goal of the committee that made this anime was to increase manga sales. If you look at the first week of release totals for the past few volumes of Chihayafuru, you will see that the sales figures increased by around 10% over the prior volume for each. These are volumes that came out after the anime started. That looks like the type of increase in sales they were looking for, hence a second season is in the offing. (One of those volumes was actually the top selling manga in Japan for its first week of issue. However, it was a slow release week, with none of the "big guys" coming out that week.) |
