| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- LOL. I love the ending; are the white shadows the people from the musical? o.o Anyways, I loved that. Same old Ryoma, and it's great to see the crew. (Fuji! <3) Now that I think about it,I don't think the new Tenipuri will last very long? The chapters aren't coming out that fast and the first episode seemed to have covered like 2 chapters. Plus the chapters coming out are like... 10 pages... o.o (Ryoma with glasses XD) |

| I was kyaa-ing through the whole episode, so happy that I get another Prince of Tennis animation :3 Ryoma had an awesome entry yet again. they are all still the same, amazing <3 btw someone else noticed... first ep and Fuji already had his eyes opened, which hardly happened before xDD Op and Ed are not really good, videos are fine. so cant wait for the next episode >.< |

| I already have read the manga, but I say that I really loved the animated version of the cast. | Never thought the series was great as in my opinion they went over the top with those tennis techniques they came up with, but overall its still a good series and this new season is off on a good start. |
| That was a very good first episode. I loved the Honki Moodo remix at the end! The animation wasn't bad, but pretty derpish in the background. 8/10 |
| as a person that never wanted to watch or read the old ones this didn't do anything to me and left me pretty turned off,but it seems the fans of this series enjoyed it so yeah not my thing~, one thing i will say the OP&ED are god awful mainly the OP. dropped |

| The opening and ending could have really been enhanced more. The opening song is forgetable but the animation isnt (when Echizen is slammed against the wall in the rain, so powerful). The ending song is terrible...however, like Just Awake from Hunter X Hunter (2011), I will end up loving the song as its played more and more, something is catchy about Enjoy, and the animation. Never encountered the Prince of Tennis franchise before, but this episode 1 was pretty awesome. I love the character cast and the over the top yet epic looking skills for tennis. I cant imagine what the higher ups of the highschoolers will be capable of. Echizen, Eiji Kikumaru, and Kintaru Toyama are instant faves. Loved the megane part. Will definitely keep watching. |

| @Solkiskey: Just let him drop this anime if he don't like it, even thought I'm not really into Tennis I do love the series. The Opening was good, but the ending was bad! But who cares about that? I'm glad they anime adapation is the same as the manga, the previous Prince of Tennis manga were different from the anime. It's starting all good in the beginning, using tennis and the ball to keep the train get away. Shouldn't his tennis racket were broken right now? LoL Same old Echizen, mada mada da ne. :) Don't underestimated your opponents becuase they are from middle school. What does ages have to do? Talents & Skills is everything. :) |

| In Prince of Tennis terms the episode was pretty bad. A lot of people seemed out of character or just plain annoying to me. Especially Kintarou, which at several points, I was wishing he'd just shut up. Still, the episode was entertaining. Not sure it was intentional but a lot of it had me laughing, too. Actually started with the OP, couldn't say why. The ED was a bit much, though. Not really my idea of a good end to an episode. In the end it was pretty good and am looking forward to more. 4/5, 7.5/10 |
| That awful OP, seriously what is that? I enjoyed this episode though. Good to see Echizen still being his flashy cocky self as usual. Pretty much the same old PoT but I'm not complaining. |

| Awesome episode. Been a fan of Prince of Tennis and have seen every episode of the seasons before this one. I agree with Panaru in that the only thing I am scared of is that this season doesn't last long. Hopefully there can be some 'good' fillers in between which extend how long it lasts :p 5/5 |
| About the length, isn't there like 70 chapters right now? At two an episode that's still a bit. Exactly how long are people expecting it to last? I wouldn't be surprised if it got a 50 episode run like a lot of Shounen series. Would be nice if it was 178, like the original, but it's probably not going to happen. |

The problem, actually, is that even though there are 70+ chapters out, it feels like the real stuff hasn't even begun yet. I'd love to see the Japanese team finally come together and take on the world but I doubt it'll happen. A team has very few people on it, and there are so many middle school players and high school players that I doubt the author could pick just a handful (including Echizen because that would be a given) and make the "Japan vs teams from around the world" arc very satisfying. That seemed like a tangent, but let me clarify. If it doesn't even feel like the manga has gotten to the main stuff yet at 70 chapters in, then if this anime runs only 50 episodes including fillers, what are the odds that it will have a very satisfying conclusion? |

Not high, sadly. I really don't see it going beyond 50, though, unless something like a long hiatus happens. That or a 2nd series when there is enough manga to warrant it. | Loved the first episode kept smiling whenever I saw Ryoma. Hopefully they are able to continue the show for a long time I have to agree with Panaru, I thought the whole point of the sequel is to show Japan against the world but they've barely even made any progress in the training camp. |

| There was something I was wondering. Anyone know how the timeline of this in relation to the rest of the series? I really don't get it. You'd think that everyone would have advanced a year by now which would have made all the 3rd years high school students themselves. |

| All dat bloom! MY EYES!! Opening and ending are sooo 90s. I like them. Still have no hopes for this at all. The manga has almost made no progress at all, since the beginning. You can hardly call that chapters anymore. So it will be 13 episodes of hardly anything now and then another year till the next season. |

| since i'm such a big POT fan i was overjoyed of course! and i squealed more often then i should have xD but when i watched it a second time something bothered me, the animation. it was really static. especially when the other middle schoolers came in, and most of the backgrounds, too. i really wish they had put more effort into that aspect. still the second season got my hopes up that the (almost dead) prince of tennis fandom will awake again :D i'm hoping for a longer series than just 50 minutes, with a lot of fillers! |
| yeaaaah, pot is finally among us once again!!! really, i've read the first book of the manga several times but it''s a totally different thing to see it as an anime. to hear kikumaru's "hoi hoi" again and stuff. i cannot tell what i liked and what not because i simply love everything of the first episode <3 but i think it must be quite natural considering how long have we waited for this. the thing i think was absolutely the best in the first episode (aside of it being aired in the first place) was the moment when irie opened his mouth. i really cannot believe my favorite actor is in my favorite anime!!!! go aibachi <3 |
| The first scene was so co0ol! I wish they make more of these scenes where the characters casually show-off using tennis skills and parkour/freerunning moves and stunts. >.< |
| Ah its back, the begining of Tennis Ball Z. I remember i watched the last series about two years ago. So i felt giddy while watching this first ep. Brings back memories of long days marathoning that beast while laughing at the over the top-ness. My perdiction for this series will be that ryoma will die then come back and go super saiyan during the final match. |

Seriously, Echizen in a black leather jacket, and those nearly dangerous to play tennis in shorts(they have some kind of strap across the front of them)...what ARE you thinking? yes, we get just about every common PoT catchphrase in this episode, so you will not be disappointed. |
