Hah, it's one of the reasons I will not watch Death Note. Aside from the first episode being a total turn off for me.

Internet forums really ruin the fun on some things with thread titles like: "why did person X had to die?"

I had the same thing happen to me, but I still watched Death Note and loved it. I'd defiantly say give it a chance, one episode is too quick to write it off. Especially considering how the show morphs throughout it's run.

I don't mind If I get spoiled, only if someone does it on purpose...

Depends on the spoil,

If it's something about a character doing something important that would change the story of the anime then I would become a little upset but the world is not gonna end so when I pass that "important" part it's alright;

If it's something about a character that dies at the end of an anime that has finished airing then it's really fucked up but I don't stop watching it anyway.

Hmmm...Well if my friend were to tell me that an anime I was watching, and said the ending sucked, I would just stop watching. I don't wanna waste my time lol.

But I dunno, no on has ever spoiled the ENDING for me. Some parts in the anime, but never the ending, so I'm not sure.

I accidentally get spoilers all the time but I always hope that they aren`t true, and always fail. It makes me really upset but I never drop spoiled anime.

I can still watch it, but I find myself waiting for it. Like when
I was just waiting for it to happen so I could be heartbroken. It was kinda annoying not the get the surprise about it. *sigh*

I think it really depends on how big of a spoiler it is. If so and so end up together yeah that's cool what ever, I was probably shipping them anyway. But if someone tells me the main character dies or something then I will mostly likely stop watching it.

I watched School Days precisely because I got spoiled.
I work in VNs. Sometimes, they have h-scenes and I go "waai~". I also like to not write at Oppai is Justice, a blog with great urls.

For me it depends on the series as well as if the ending seems at least adequate. Of course I try to watch a series to the end without being spoiled, but it just happens sometimes particularly if it is when I am looking for a new series to get into and need some background information. If a series is ruined by knowing the ending, at least for me, it probably wasn't worth watching in the first place. Endings are great but the journey needs to be good too...

Depends on the genre; action comedy, or episodic shows are no problem.
But for anything that is heavily influenced by story/romance/drama, it's just not the same experience when you know something you're not supposed to know...

Ugh that's tough. But I've have Code Geass and TTGL spoiled for me in certain areas, specifically characters, but I still loved them. But usually no. Especially if I wouldn't have seen it coming and now...you know, I do. -___-

Of course.Cus it's different when you actually see something. Also you can't explain perfectly every detail. And if it is about some thriller,I can even feel relieve if end is good. And if it isn't,well I'll watch it to the end for sure.I never give up on something I started (except very very very looooong stories -.-' or very very very bad >.<)

Yes, I've been spoiled to more deaths/endings in anime than I'm happy with. I can still watch the anime, but the spoiler is always there like a looming shadow, slightly dampening the enjoyment factor and immersion.

Death Note - Just about everything

One Piece (major spoiler)

Cowboy Bebop - That sad thing that happens at the end. You know what I'm talking about.

Trigun - That sad event near the end. You know the one.

Clannad - The two saddest moments of the entire series, plus the ending

Wolf's Rain - The last two episodes, basically.

Absolutely. Unless the show relies heavily on cheap shock value, having any important moments spoiled wouldn't stop me from watching it.

Emotional moments for example still have impact for me because I care about the characters, even if I know ahead of time what's going to happen.

Yeah. Though I'm pretty sure I would've enjoyed it more if I wasn't spoiled, but w/e.

Case and point: Clannad AS.

Yes Of course. I'll still watch the Anime. I won't drop it just because somebody spoiled it to me. I'll rather curse that somebody to death. Reading Manga and Novel spoils me too so it's not a big deal actually.

Yes, I can. I still want to know the finer points of how they got there. That said, self-centered, inconsiderate people who toss out spoilers piss me off. It is a shame that their world is so small that they assume every one on earth has seen the same shows they have. New people come to anime every day so what you may think is "common knowledge" may ruin someone's experience. Think before you post and allow them the same joy of discovery you had.

Yea I can.

One part of the Clannad ending was spoiled for me but I kept going hoping they were wrong. Even if it was spoiled, the journey to that point in the story already had me hooked and attached to the characters to still have the effect the author intended. Clannad is that awesome ;)

Whether or not I can finish a show that's been spoiled for me depends on the series itself. Some works rely on an unprecedented factor for maximum effect while other anime only become stronger when the ending is known.

It depends. If I loved the anime before finding the spoiler, then I'll somehow manage to barrel through, the ending definitely becomes less enjoyable for me though.

However, I accidentally found spoilers about Full Moon wa Sagashite (SP?)'s ending, and after that I just couldn't watch it anymore. I actually enjoyed the series at the time too, but the ending went the opposite way from what I was hoping for so I just couldn't bring myself to watch it. :U

enjoyment kind of dies down if you know a plot twist/ending of it
even though i wasn't told the ending to code geass r2 i knew what would happen before i saw the last episode so it killed the ending for me
damn my guesses

I'm glad I watched Clannad even if I saw

I also knew the end of Code Geass R2 but I really wanted to see it.

So yes, I can still watch an anime but it depends of the story and the characters.

Sometime I find the journey to the ending is more interesting then the ending.
So yes I would watch it anyway.

Yup. I watched School Days. One of my favorites. Most spoiled anime ever. Then there's CLANNAD & After Story. Then there is Death Note, but I don't ever plan on watching it anyways because my PTW is big enough and I'm not interested.

I second this. If some punk revealed the ending of an anime to me, I'll just watch several different anime until I somehow remember that anime that someone spoiled.
