Well, just to see what comes up, I typed in Pokemon in the search engine here at MAL. Boy, did I do a lot of adding.

I remember this movie back in 3rd grade. I was a total pokefan back then; I still remember playing Pokemon Red Version (THE original) on my GameBoy Color everyday at recess lol. This movie was like, the best thing I've ever saw as a kid.

Now obviously I have no interest in Pokemon anymore... although I still have tons of collections (key chains, cards, Burger King gold cards, action figures, etc.) in a box in my closet. Pokemon Diamond/Pearl on the DS was entertaining though.

How about you guys? Any retrospective memories from this movie?

Love that movie! Probably the most watched movie in my whole collection of movies. I get so moved by it. It was the first movie that I ever cried watching and I think I became a even bigger fan of the show after watching it.

I remember going to watch it in theatres and it rocked. The end part made almost everyone cry there.

I still have as relic from the past pokemon blue (Yes, plan blue.) and loads of pokemon cards. xD Also, I should have the pokemon movie VHS and some episodes somewhere, but I haven't seen em since I moved.

Gah, I have to watch this movie again.

I did that too xD
But I liked the movie, I was.. six? I think, when I saw it.
And I can still remember the story, because I loved it back then ^^
I still have the video somewhere, I should go and look for it....
Maybe my parents throwed it away >.>

My favorite remains the one with Lugia, and the 3 legendary birds.

Ok well I had a slightly different reaction to this movie, though I do believe it was the best Pokemon movie and a great movie in general. I wasn't in third grade or anything when I saw this movie. I was 15 when it came out. So imagine the reaction of a 15 year old girl. I thought Mewtwo was strangely hot. Just being honest. Guaranteed there are girls that agree with me.
He was the villain trying to figure out who he was, intent on proving himself mostly to himself because he didn't care enough about humans to prove himself to them. Heck yes, he was hot. So he was pretty much my entire reason for watching Pokemon. Then they pretty much neutered him in "Mewtwo Returns" transforming him from the sexy villain into the brooding angsty father figure. Travesty of travesties.
Oh well. Either way I still love this movie.

Watching the three scenes they removed from the orginal dub was quite eye opening.
Created a whole new image of Mewtwo for me. The poor guy.

OMG I forgot about Pokemon, I've gotta do some major adding now!
Awwww~ this movie was the one where Ash got turned to stone, I cried when I watched this when I was younger :'(
That awkward moment when you're watching yaoi then all of a sudden someone walks in...

I liked it for making bit more actual sense. Like the anime was so young, yet already had this big, psychological problem - I loved that. Mewtwo is forever my favourite pokemon ;)

If you guys want I really recommend you on seeing this:

It's Mewtwo's tribute.

If i'm not wrong i still have it on VHS, this and the lugia one.

I cried at the Statue Ash part. But this isn't my favorite Pkmn Movie.
Like Luffy, my fav is the second movie, the one with Lugia.

When Lugia fells deep in the water, and when he wake up by Melody's music...
It didn't make me cry, but I think it was more awesome.

Lugia fighted Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno, all at the same moment, and won.

That film is fantastic. But I love the one too!

I only watched this movie once on TV when it aired once in 2011/12 when and I didn't like it too much cuz it was just too depressing for a 5 years old but then later I realized that it was good but only watched it once.

i had an old pokemon pencil case laying around, probably from early grade school days so i though, you know what, i searched pokemon on here and just went with it. suprised how dark it was compared to the main show way more adult and mature themes, and pretty touching movie towards the end. the old era, gen 1 was really something though, used to wake up 7:00 on saturdays when it aired on tv, and i was still in kindergarten lol. good times

because the original Japanese version has a more fitting message call all life is equal than the fighting is wrong message in the 4kids dub.
